FFTF
chairman, Andy Millar along with FFTF business manager Dougie McCrone
recently met with club chairman Michael Johnston to discuss the
financial situation for the Killie youth set-up. We are delighted to
announce that this season’s funding shortfall has been met and the
youths will be continuing in their current structure.
A
massive thanks is due to all you Killie fans who have donated their hard
earned cash to the FFTF campaign. Alan Robertson and his coaches have
also worked hard at raising funds plus the donation from Kris Boyd has
seen the target met far sooner that we anticipated. We are under no
illusions however that a lot of hard work lies ahead and we will
continue to promote the FFTF campaign for many years to come.
We will
be meeting with the club again in the near future to discuss the youth
funding for next season. Everyone who has signed up to FFTF will be
invited to our final (non OF) home game of the season where you will
receive a couple of free tickets and have the chance to meet some of the
youth players before the game. We will publicise the full details once
we know the post-split fixtures.
During
the campaign we have seen some great efforts by fans and businesses
alike. The contacts we have made are invaluable and we will be looking
to build on these relationships in the future. We were recently
contacted by Killie fans Jim Craig and Alastair Brown. The lads are
planning to walk the West Highland Way and all proceeds raised have been
pledged to FFTF. Their long march will start on Sunday 14 May and all
things being equal will end on Saturday 20 May. We’d ask that you give
the lads maximum encouragement and sponsor them for the walk. Here are
the contact details...
