Running
out of the tunnel onto the hallowed turf of a Premier League football
ground is the kind of stuff thousands of kids dream about up and down
the country. The dream will come true for many 11 year olds on Sunday
14th May. Spirit Aerosystems (formerly BAE Systems Aerostructures) will
stage a Youth Football Gala at Rugby Park in partnership with the Killie
Trust, Kilmarnock Football Club and the Central Ayrshire Youth Football
Association.
Spirit
Aerosystems (Europe) Ltd was launched on 1st April 2006 and have bases
in Prestwick and Lancashire. This will be the first major community
event under the Spirit brand and by supporting this gala and other
similar events, the Spirit name will become familiar with everyone in
Ayrshire.
Spirit
are committed to bringing together communities where their employees
live and work and think it's a good idea to give money to organisations
who can nurture the skills of young people that potential employers will
be looking for in the future. Team working, discipline and encouraging
that competitive edge are just some of the skills that the Kilmarnock
Youth Development Programme promote.
Killie's
mascot, Nutz will be there to entertain the kids and the tea bar will be
open throughout the event. The Gala, for the under 11's age group, will
begin at 10.00am and we would encourage you to come along and support
the children.
