Colin Nish on being tipped as the player
to pick up where Kris Boyd left off, claiming he has already shown he
can do a job for Kilmarnock.....
"You hear people talking about this being my big chance," he said.
"But I thought I did okay before and I don't think I've got anything to
prove.
"I know I can score goals, I know I can set up goals and I know I can
play up front. I'm more than capable of doing that so I don't see why I
have to go out and prove again that I can score goals.
"I'm not the same type of player as Kris Boyd so I'm not thinking
that way."
"I just go out every week and hope that I have a good game.
"That doesn't necessarily mean scoring a couple of goals. I would
prefer to have a good game and hopefully the goals will come as well.
"I don't know if I'm the main striker or not. I played on Monday and
hopefully I'll be playing again this week.
"I
just have to try to keep my place in the team now.
"We've got
Gary Wales,
Steven
Naismith and
Paul di
Giacomo as well so I think we will all be fighting for the places up
front.
"There was a competitive edge anyway because everyone wanted to get a
place up front beside
Kris Boyd.
"Now it just means there are two places to fight over rather than
just the one."
Colin
on if Boyd will be a hit at Rangers.... "I don't think he
will have any problems. He is just a goal machine and will score goals
no matter where he plays.
"He will probably get more chances there than what he got here so I
think he will score loads."
Colin's targets for the season...."To play as many
games as I can," he said. "I keep getting injured!
"Every time I get back in the team, I get injured for a couple of
weeks so hopefully I can stay fit and get a run in the team.
"Then I will see how many goals I can score."
Nish has scored five goals so far this season, including a
hat-trick against Livingston.
