Nicknamed 'Yanou', Iain is a natural left-sided defender and is an excellent placer of the ball. Iain played in all of the Pars Youth teams from the age of 13.

Iain first appeared for the Pars first team in pre-season friendlies and has also featured on the bench for SPL matches. He earned three Scottish Schoolboy caps over the summer of 2004.

Made his Pars first team debut in December 2004 at Easter Road. First start was against Aberdeen on 12th February 2005 v Aberdeen at East End Park.

The full back is son of Partick Thistle manager Dick Campbell. Iain worked his way through the youth ranks at Dunfermline and came to prominence in the 2004-05 season during one of Dunfermline’s bad injury spells. He acquitted himself well and was rewarded with a regular place in the first team pool. Tremendous left foot and very good at delivering corners and set pieces.
As at 01/07/06: 35 Pars appearances including 8 as sub. One goal - 29/04/06 at Motherwell
Signed for Killie, in late August 2006, presumably for "cover" for Garry "Hooky" Hay.

Jim Jefferies on Signing Campbell...."We took a wee chance on him and he hasn't cost us a lot of money, I needed cover on the left and it's a good challenge for him to keep others on their toes and be pressing for a regular place in the team".
