Reserves Take Revenge
Killie won the CIS Cup back from Hibs tonight when we beat their reserves 2 - 0 at the Theatre of Pies. There will be an open topped parade through the town tomorrow at noon then everyone is invited back to the hotel to drink all the champagne that's been sitting for a fortnight. Both teams had a fair amount of first team experience on show but the first half was fairly even with few clear cut chances. Zemmama and Haji had decent half chances for the visitors whilst Flannigan hit the post from a tight angle after a fine Skora pass picked him out. Killie were having the majority of possession however it looked like the score-line may remain blank until Killie burst into life in the 71st minute. A lovely Skora run and pass found Quinn who expertly lobbed the keeper. One minute later and Killie doubled the lead following a howler from Grof. The keeper chased a ball out wide but only gave it straight to Flannigan 30 yards out. The youngster kept his cool and fired the ball home from wide on the right despite a desperate goal line attempt by Martis. Both teams had chances in the closing minutes however Killie held out for a deserved win. Killie were best served by Lilley, Hammill and Sylla whilst Michael Stewart was a stand out for Hibs.
