KILMARNOCK have signed on Oct 18th 2007.Moroccan midfielder Mehdi Taouil on a short-term contract.

Taouil, who has won five senior caps for his country, spent two years at Montpellier in the French second division, playing more than 50 games before being released when his contract expired at the end of last season.

He has joined Kilmarnock until the end of the year and takes the No 34 shirt.

The 24-year-old, born in France, made his French league debut as a 15-year-old for Nancy before moving to German side Nurnberg for a two-year spell.

Taouil also picked up 25 Moroccan Under-23 caps and represented his country at the 2004 Olympics in Greece.

Jan 9th 2008 Contract Update: The 24-year-old has made 10 appearances since arriving at Rugby Park in October has extended his contract through May of 2008.
