- Smallworld To Sponsor Killie -
(July 2007)

KILMARNOCK have sealed a three-year sponsorship deal worth over £100,000 a year with Irvine-based cable operator Smallworld Media.

The company will have its name on Killie’s home and away jerseys during this forthcoming season.

The firm’s logo will also feature around Rugby Park and in club publications.

Killie chairman Michael Johnston (right) was delighted to seal a deal with a company based locally.

He said: “Everyone at Kilmarnock FC is delighted to have secured a sponsorship partner with such strong commitment to the Ayrshire community.

“The opportunities for joint marketing initiatives are enormous, and we look forward to having a close working relationship with Smallworld.

“The club has invested heavily in new technology in recent years, and Smallworld’s expertise in new media is bound to benefit Kilmarnock FC in attracting football fans to Rugby Park.

“The club’s appearance in the CIS Insurance Cup final at Hampden in March before a television audience approaching one million viewers and the extensive press coverage leading up to the final underlined the value of sponsoring Scotland’s oldest professional football team and the only SPL club in southwest Scotland.

“Consecutive fifth-place SPL finishes, a strong management team in Jim Jefferies and Billy Brown, and a settled squad blending youth and experience lead us to believe next season will be even better.”

Smallworld Media spokesman David Durnford said: “I am delighted that Smallworld Media will be sponsoring Kilmarnock FC as they look to build on the success of the past few seasons.

“As the only cable operator in Ayrshire, we are committed to supporting our local community, and we think the relationship with Kilmarnock FC is an excellent way of promoting our regional presence.

“This move comes at an exciting time for us, as we invest in new products and in the expansion of our network across Ayrshire and the rest of Scotland. We look forward to working with Kilmarnock FC over the coming years.”

Smallworld take over from Galloway Cheese as the club’s shirt sponsor.
