Kilmarnock goalkeeper Damien Rascle is hoping to make
his competitive debut on Saturday, a year after signing.
The 27-year-old signed for Jim Jefferies’ side last summer and has
had to play back-up to
Alan Combe, who has been injured in
recent weeks, and Rascle is ready to step up.
“ I’ve been trying to play as well as I can and now I’m just
waiting,” he said. “Alan isn’t fit but he’s still No.1
“The Hibs game would be my first chance to play in a competitive
game here. Once I’ve actually done that I can think about my future.
“My job is to give Alan and the management a problem. At the moment,
I’m just happy to be getting games.
“I was signed a year ago but I only played seven matches, all for
the reserves.
“This season has already been better because I have played four
times for the first team, even if they have only been friendlies,
and I have done well.”
He continued: ““When I signed I was aware that Alan was first choice
but I’m an ambitious man and try to compete.
