Kilmarnock have signed Coventry
striker Donovan Simmonds on loan for the remainder of the year, the
Championship club have confirmed.
The 19-year-old had a trial at Rugby
Park over the summer and Killie boss Jim Jefferies has opted to take
him on a deal that will run until December 31.
"Donovan is
extremely quick and looks a real prospect, so we decided to get him
in on loan. He gives me another attacking option,"
Nov 14th 13th 2008:Kilmarnock striker Donovan Simmonds requires a hernia
operation which will see him sidelined for the rest of his loan
period at Rugby Park.
Simmonds, who was already
struggling with an ankle injury, will undergo the surgery next week.
The powerful 20-year-old arrived
from Coventry City in August, having agreed to stay until January.
Simmonds has made 13 appearances
for Killie, scoring once in the 2-1 defeat to Falkirk in October.
