Jul 17 2009 STRIKER Allan Russell is slaving away in the gym while his Killie team-mates sun themselves in Italy.

 “I’ve stayed behind to focus on my rehabilitation and it will probably still be three months before I’m ready to play again. I’ve not been able to twist and turn, but I have been running in a straight line, doing a lot of jogging and bike work, as well as lifting weights with my legs. It’s coming along well. It’s hard work, but it’s better than a few months ago when I wasn’t able to do anything.”

“I don’t think any professional player dwells on what happened during the season before. We will all be looking to have a good season. It’s a new year and a fresh start for all of us and that’s how we will approach it.”
