2009-10 Season Player Notes & Quotes:

Aug 16th on The Accies Post Match... "Last season I wasn't fully pleased with the amount of games I played. So over the summer I was very hungry to get back in and impress in training and in pre-season. I was pleased I did that so I was very happy to start the game and it's good to hear what the manager said. I've always believed I have the ability to play well in this league. It's just now I'm getting the confidence from my performances in pre-season and training and I want to kick on and keep starting games and scoring goals."  "I feel I've learned a hell of a lot from training with different boys here and from playing with higher level players like Kev who's got such experience in my position.  He gives me great advice and I gain confidence from that.  For me he's a dream to play with - he's a big target man, has got good feet and can pick a pass. If I make the runs I know he'll find me with flick-ons or passes and I'm looking forward to playing with him for a long time to come.  I don't think he can be far away from the Scotland squad. If he keeps on scoring goals like that people have to take notice him."

"Last season There was an element of my head going down when I got left out.  There were a few injuries and I played the first few games and we were all doing well. So I was disappointed to go out of the team and I tried my best to get back in and worked hard. But now I have looked at the negative parts of my game I and really want to build on it. I feel I'm at an age I can improve and still learn new things about myself. I feel very confident about this season and how I can play individually and how we can do as a team."

Jim Jefferies said ... "We keep thinking its his twin brother who's come back across! He was raw when he arrived last year and had never played at this level but got a start because of injuries. He did really well but like a lot of young players who come in and hit a brick wall, when we took him out the head went down a wee bit and he felt hard done by. He has had the year under his belt though and has just come in, knuckled down and in pre-season was a different player. He's been outstanding and it's great to see him have that confidence. He's a handful, he's willing, worked really hard, showed some very good touches and played a great pass for the third goal."

Sept 19th on the Gers Post Match... "There was a bit of a mix-up because Walter Smith had a go at us, thinking we were running over to the ref to get him booked.  I can understand, in the heat of the moment, it might have looked like that but the referee will tell you we were only looking for the advantage to be played. The lads feel a bit disappointed that we didn't win the game. Coming into the game we would obviously have looked at a point as being a very good result. But, with the way the game panned out, we could have nicked it and it is a bit disappointing. But we played well today and we have to take the positives."
