In late Jan 09 Killie manager Jim Jefferies rescued the faltering career of ex-Scotland international Kevin Kyle by offering the big man an 18 month contract at Rugby Park. It was his season ending form that would save Killie's bacon! The big man scored 7 goals in his last 4 starts of the 08-09 season. These invaluable goals resulted in Killie picking up 10 (out of 12) points, and obviously were the difference in Killie remaining as an SPL club for season 2009-10.

It was also a joy to see him getting his dues and enjoying his football again.
