Conor Sammon, the striker attracting interest from a number of English
clubs, scored his 18th goal of the season, rifling in after 15 minutes.
But Jamie Hamill was sent off after 29 minutes for a second yellow
card.
Thomas Cerni's save prevented Mehdi Taouil increasing Killie's lead
and substitute Antoine-Curier fired into the far corner after 78
minutes.
And the point moves Accies to within two points of second bottom
Hibernian with a game in hand.
Hamilton had handed a debut to Aaron Wildig, the midfielder being
given the nod after signing on loan from Cardiff, while Simon Mensing
was suspended.
Kilmarnock were without the suspended Alexei Eremenko, but new
recruit Willy Aubameyang (right) had to make do with being on the bench.
The visitors had the best of the chances early on and goalkeeper
Tomas Cerny did well to intercept a Tim Clancy cross aimed at Sammon.
A
Clancy header flashed just wide of the post from close range from Garry
Hay's corner.
And their hard work paid off when Mehdi Taouil provided the pass and
Sammon was able to shrug off Mark McLaughlin before rifling past Cerny.
Kilmarnock were dealt a blow when Hamill was dismissed after 29
minutes after picking up a second yellow card for a challenge on Paixao.
Both sides made changes moments later, with Accies swapping Nigel
Hasselbaink and Gavin Skelton for Antoine-Curier and Damian Casalinuovo,
while Rui Miguel was withdrawn for Killie and replaced with new signing
Aubameyang.
Casalinuovo had the ball in the back of the net within a few minutes,
but the offside flag denied Hamilton the equaliser.
Hamilton emerged for the second half determined to haul themselves
back into the game and had a couple of half chances in front of goal.
However, only the efforts of Cerny prevented them from falling
further behind when the goalkeeper produced an excellent block to
prevent the impressive Taouil's angled drive from hitting the back of
the net.
Accies were forced to use their final substitution when McLaughlin
injured himself after falling over the advertising hoardings and was
replaced with Grant Gillespie before being strapped to a stretcher
following several minutes of treatment.
A cross-shot from Dougie Imrie sneaked into the bottom corner as the
home side pushed for a leveller, but the assistant referee flagged
before the effort had even crossed the line.
There was no mistake when Antoine-Curier hammered the ball home from
just outside the penalty box..
Liam Kelly headed over and Sammon had a late attempt saved by Cerni
as 10-man Killie were denied a winner.
