Another Pre-Season Road
Trip...
Luton v Killie in
Pictures
I was going
to fly down to this one but a few of the lads from the
website were going so we decided to get Rusty's mini-bus and
go on another road trip...staying overnight this time
because I was driving and there was no way I fancied a 24
hour gig again! We left at 7am from the Theatre of Pies and
took our time (plenty of "rest" stops) on the disco bus and
arrived in Luton at the digs around 4pm. The digs were
awful, but functional for the price so we mustn't
grumble...the bags were duly ditched and while the rest of
the lads went to the wee Irish boozer round the corner, the
sensible ones (all four of us) went for some grub and then
round to the ground early for some pics.

A service station about half way there...not sure what was
with the Finland flag but Gaz managed to lose the rest
somewhere along the line!

The Killie players warm up before the game. Spoke to Mixu
and he said that he really appreciated that Killie fans
would travel so far for a friendly.

Pasca does some stretching. The big man likes a bit of
banter with the crowd.

Killie fans were moved twice and finally ended up behind the
goals. Believe it or not Shortie is the bloke with the white
Luton top on at the end...nicknames can be deceptive...even
worse karaoke singer than Hughie Parker and that is saying
something!

Most of the guys who travelled on the killiefc.com mini bus
and a few extras. Dennis was up in the press box trying to
explain to the local journos who was who.

At last some sensible Killie fans. Good job the kids had
long hair, drowned out some of the more 'colourful'
songs on offer.

We defended the end where the Killie fans were in the first
half.

Lucky Mixu was first in line at the pie queue.

Bryso didn't have a great game but he came over and gave the
fans a good round of applause at the end of the match.

Silva has apparently just signed a two year deal, again, the
Portuguese winger didn't have the best of games but there is
potential there for him to do well for us.

Dodgy going's on from Luton...some of the players didn't
have names or numbers on their strips at all so it was hard
to tell who their trialists were.

Danny always gets in the frame somewhere. Played up front
himself to not much effect...no service though.

Another Danny pic...so few turned out I'm having to use them
all that (nearly) did!

Silva again, he was playing down the wing where I took up
position.

Tim fails, in this instance, to spot the runner...had a
steady enough game though.

In the immortal words of Archie...a goal mouth stramash.

This was the goal that gave Luton the win...spot the ball.

Trialist Owen Morrison came on to replace Danny.

Apologies for the focus, this was meant to be Dayton.

This looks like Fowler taking the corner, but to be honest
I'm not entirely sure!

Morrison didn't have too long to impress and looked like he
could be fitter .

Dayton has featured in nearly all out pre-season games so
far.

Random shot just to show you a bit more of the stadium.

My mate Andy Bulled and his son Josh. Andy is a West Ham
(and Killie) fan who has travelled north from Harlow to see
us on and off for years now. This is his lads first Killie
game so worthy of a picture for the record books!

Managed to catch Cammy on the way off...next time I may
position myself at our end to get some more pictures.
It has to be
said, the pics I got of the game are mince. Billy White (KFCSA)
gave me a big fancy camera (cheers mate) with a massive lens
but my inability to get decent focus coupled with Killie's
inability to get forward with the ball very often made
things a bit of a nightmare. I got some decent pics of the
fans, but the action shots leave a lot to be desired
and in future I will probably stick to the camera I used
last time and leave the fancy stuff to the experts. Nice to
get a chance to speak to Skydog and Jimmy Superscot
again...always a pleasure gents and apologies about the
no-show in the pub later...I went looking for you in the
town centre (the White Horse?) and never realised that you
went back to where we were based.
