News & Quotes:
Apr 4th ...Kilmarnock
have handed a new three-year deal to
highly-rated young full-back Alex Pursehourse.It
was revealed in December that Killie had opened
talks with 19-year-old left-back and Pursehourse
has now put pen to paper on a three-year deal
after impressing hugely this season. Pursehouse
joined Kilmarnock in the summer from English
side Tranmere. He has now emerged as a regular
under Kenny Shiels and has been rewarded for his
progress. "We have been talking since December,
so Alex is delighted to have finally committed
his future to the club,"said his agent.
Oct 21st..."You've
got to have inner belief. If you don't believe
in yourself no-one else will. I'm knuckling down
and working hard and hopefully it will pay off.
For a 19-year-old it's a dream. To play at such
a high level at this age is a great privilege.
It's a great privilege to be playing at
Kilmarnock and I'm enjoying it. I'm only
young and I'm still learning. I'm working hard
in training to improve and hopefully I can take
that into games and hopefully I can please the
gaffer and keep myself in the team. But I'm
young and you're only as good as your last game
so I'll see what happens."
On the Celtic 3-3 Draw... "The
excitement of the game was unbelievable. It's a
dream to play in that kind of game, especially
against Celtic. We've shown what we can do
against Celtic. If we can take that into the
other games we can do well. We have been doing
well and working hard and playing good football.
Especially against Celtic, we showed what we can
do and when we are playing at our best we are
capable of anything. We can certainly go on and
upset a lot of people."
On Next Opponents Well...
"Motherwell have got some very good players and
anything can happen in the SPL, it's a great
league. Motherwell are doing very well at the
minute. It's not going to be an easy game but we
have been preparing well and we are looking
forward to it. After the Celtic game, we believe
we can do it. There are no easy games in the
league but we will give it our all. That's all
we can do and hopefully we can get the win. I
think we deserved the win last week to be fair
but a point is a good result against Celtic. We
have analysed our mistakes, we've worked on it,
and hopefully we can put it right."
Sept 10th ...Alex Pursehouse
on his first start (Vs the Pars) on Sept 10th
2011..... "My priority is to make sure I'm solid
as a defender but the gaffer encourages his
full-backs to push on. That's enjoyable as you
get the attacking side as well. It's the best of
both worlds."
