Songs Sung Blue (Everybody knows one!)

I've promised for ages now that I'd set up a page with the words to all the Killie songs that I could get my mitts on but it's been a bit of a pain in the arse. First I waited for ages for Bryan of the 20/20 to come across with the goods and then I had no access to the text I'd saved which was away at the mac doctors with my hard drive and there was no chance I was doing all that again! Even when everything was ready to go there were more problems, what to include, different versions of the same songs etc. etc. To try and make it a bit easier I've tried to categorize the ones that I have to stop the complaints flooding in. If you spot any blatant errors by all means let me know, if you know any more songs we've missed (and there's bound to be plenty) please do likewise. I will try to give the original tunes a mention but I know very few of these...I await Conman sending me them all in due course. Before you go any further I will warn you that there are a few sweary words in the lyrics below, but it would defeat the purpose to blank them all out so be warned. See how many of these you remember...

COMMON GARDEN VARIETY

(She'll be coming round the Mountain)
I will wear a Killie bonnet 'til I die, I will wear a Killie bonnet 'til I die,
I will wear a Killie bonnet, with f*ck the a*r upon it, wear a Killie bonnet 'til I die.

(She'll be coming round the Mountain)
There'll be Johnnie Walker whisky in the Cup, There'll be Johnnie Walker whisky in the Cup,
There'll be Johnnie Walker whisky, Johnnie Walker whiskey,
Johnnie Walker whisky in the Cup - Thank f*ck.

(H.A.P.P.Y.)
I'm Killie 'til I die, I'm Killie 'til I die, I know I am, I'm sure I am...I'm Killie 'til I die.

(Unknown)
Killie boys, we are here, woah, woah, Killie boys, we are here, woah, woah,
Killie boys, we are here, shag your women and drink your beer...Woo-oo-oo-oo-oh!

(Unknown)
We're here, cos we love Killie. We're here, cos we love Killie etc.

(Unknown)
K, I, L - L, I, E...and the name of the team is Kilmarnock FC.

(The Red Flag)
Oh way up high, up in the sky, we'll keep the blue flag flying high,
Through rain or muck, we'll fight like f*ck, to keep the blue flag flying high.

(Unknown)
We'll beat you at home and we'll beat you away, we'll f*ck any b*stard that gets in our way,
We'll drink all your whisky and Newcastle Brown, the Killie Boys are in town...na na na...etc

(Unknown)
And it's a*rshire Killie...a*rshire Killie FC,
We're by far the greatest team, the world has ever seen.

(The Happy Wanderer - then some Gary Glitter number)
I love to go a wandering, along the mountain track, and as I go I love to sing
...the Killie boys are back!
Killie are back, Killie are back, Hello, Hello, It's good to be back, Killie are back Hello, Hello.

(Molly Malone)
In Dublin's fair city, where the girls are so pretty, I first laid my eyes on sweet Molly Malone,
She wheeled her wheel barrow, through the streets broad and narrow...
Singing...Killie! Killie! Killie!

(You got me singing the blues)
I've never felt more like singing the blues, The Killie would win - the a*r would lose,
Oh Killie, you got me singing the blues!

(Paper Roses)

I realise the way your eyes deceive me, with tender looks that I mistook for love,
So take away those flowers that you gave me, and send the kind that you remind me of.
Paper roses, paper roses, oh how real those roses seem to me,
But they're only, imitation, like your imitation love for me.

I thought that you might be the perfect lover, you seemed so full of sweetness at the start,
But like a big red rose that's made of paper, there isn't any sweetness in your heart.
Paper roses, paper roses, oh how real those roses seem to me,
But they're only, imitation, like your imitation love for me.

IN HONOUR OF OUR RIVALS

(Some Tommy Steel crap no doubt)
My old man, said be a Killie fan, and don't dilly dally on the way,
We'll take Pittodrie and all that's in it, we'll take the jungle in half a minute,
With flick knifes 'n' hammers, chisels and spanners, we taught the a*r b*stards how to fight,
Oh, you won't take Rugby Park and all that's in it, cos the Killie boys can fight - Like f*ck!

(Sailing)
We are Killie, super Killie, no one likes us, we don't care.
We hate a*r, black b*stards, and we'll chase them, everywhere.

(No awa' tae bide awa')
As I was walking down the Copeland Road, I met a bunch o' strangers,
And they said to me, "Are you going to see, The famous Glasgow Rangers?"
So I took a trip to Ibrox Park, to see ma Uncle Willie,
And the boys in blue, got f*cked 6-2, from the famous Ayrshire Killie.

(The Red Flag)
Hello Hello, How do you do? We hate the boys in royal blue,
We hate the boys in Emerald green, So f*ck your pope and f*ck your queen.

(He's only a poor little Sparrow)
He's only a poor little a*r fan, his face is all tattered and torn,
He made me feel sick, so I hit him with a brick, and now he's not singing no more!

(Hersham Boys)
Killie boys, Killie boys, laced up boots and corduroys.
a*r boys, a*r boys, Sindy dolls and Tonka toys.

(In my Liverpool home)
In your Glasgow slums... You look in the dustbin for something to eat,
You find a dead cat and you think it's a treat...
In your Glasgow slums. Yer ma's on the game and yer dad's in the nick,
You can't get a job cos your so f*ckin thick...
In your Glasgow slums. You sh*t on the carpet and sh*t in the bath,
You finger your grannie and think it's a laugh...
In your Glasgow slums. You look in Sue Ryder for something to wear,
Your wife is a junkie, your kids are in care ...In your Glasgow slums.

(She'll be coming round the Mountain)
Singing I come fae Killie no fae a*r. Singing I come fae Killie no fae a*r.

Oh United came to Killie today, They're going to show us how to play.
But the Killie boys had the vital spark, and played the black and whites right off the park.
Oh Glory Glory, in the sun. Killie two, united none.

All the pubs will sing tonight, 'cause Killie knocked shite out the black and white.
The Ayr fans came into the town, singin' we're going up and you're going down.

(Que Serra Serra)
When I was just a little boy, I asked my mother what would I be,
Will I be Killie or will I be scum, here's what she said to me -

And we'll go kill all the A*r scum - Que serra serra

CONTEMPORARY (NEW!)

(The Fields of Athenry)
Oh - I - could murder a Killie Pie,
I can't believe the shite in your T-Bar.
I ordered chips 'n' cheese, what the f*ckin hell are these?
Oh I wish that I could have a Killie Pie.

Okay, that's enough for now, my minds a blank but I know there are many more, especially the player specific ones which could go on forever (Eddie Morrison etc.). If your favourite is not included send it to baz@killiefc.com and I'll try and fit it in somewhere.

*I am reliably informed that the song 'Marching Through Georgia' was one sung during the American Civil War and that Killie have actually sung it for years and have as much claim to it as the huns. I only hate it because everyone else associates it with them and they are just not very nice people generally, however, now that I know the full story I may reconsider my stance. After all, the original does have the line 'how the darkies shouted when they heard the joyful sound', so maybe it's more our song than theirs after all!
