  1. amazing how highly rated he is now that's he's gone. Very average and over hyped.

  3. It would be a problem for the board to resolve. The company secretary does not have to be a director and a finance manager could be employed (if there is not already one). There is nothing unique about a football club in legal or financial terms. The last thing anyone should be doing at this time is worrying that we may not be able to cope without MJ!

  4. We changed from word replacement on the old site to asterisks in here. Yes. We really need that. Please remember, members of all ages use this site.

  8. I've seen a lot of hostility towards this, but I'm not quite sure why... Maybe because the default mode of Scottish football fans is "moan". Since the reserve league was changed to the development league, people have complained about U20 players not getting the experience of playing against senior pros. Now, they will. Doing this in what is the SPFL's smallest tournament makes sense, as does the idea to expand the competition to feature Welsh and Northern Irish teams. I personally would be more interested in watching Coleraine v St Mirren e.g, rather than Dumbarton v Montrose e.g. Some of these new ideas will work, others won't. But if you want change, then you need to take the risk. We need to make our game stand out from England, not try to copy everything it does.

  9. I think it's an absolute joke tbh. First of all it's a trophy for those teams that don't experience glory that often so I feel that's been taken away. They should have just added more non-league and possibly Junior sides. The fact teams from other nations are allowed to parachute in at the last 16 is amateur stuff. The Scottish Challenge Cup final could end up being TNS v Crusaders. Also, this has been done with the OF in mind. One, to scrape a probable extra game between them and two this is basically a yes to OF Colt teams in the lower leagues.

  11. This seems to be mostly Sunderland fans being c**ts. http://www.readytogo.net/smb/threads/martin-smith-to-kilmarnock.1238826/ This one is everyone in Sunderland claiming to be the boys cousin. http://www.readytogo.net/smb/threads/youth-team-player-martin-smith.615984/ Any views on the second thread seem to be that he's been a good player at one point. Should be an interesting one.

  13. Strange how everyone sees things differently. I think Dicker is a bit slow to be a totally effective ball winner but his ability to play an early first touch pass has often created attacking opportunities for us.

  14. He left Celtic clearly hoping to get an English Premier League job - West Brom and Southampton were mentioned by the slavering Scottish press - but he ended up at a crummy Championship club. Now he's back in Scotland in the Championship, for God's sake. I bet he still comes across as a cocky bamstick though.

  15. He was, at best, average. Had he not been able to slot into several positions he would have been jettisoned years ago. As a full back he was average, a central defender diabolical and as for all this chat about him as a central midfielder...!! Are these the same people that thought Momo could do a job in there??? He's slow, light weight and can't pass or shoot. If you were to name his best attribute it would be "effort". That in a nutshell sums him up... hardworking meh!

  16. Mark has always played in a poor team but as a player we brought through the ranks I would have liked to see him stay, just can't see where he fits as he is never seemed to have the mobility and drive for midfield, looked skillful in defence but lost the ball too often. Good luck to him no doubt he will pop up and score against us!

  18. This. McLean can tell people he's told us so all along but that everyone involved in trying to force an EGM are well aware of the ongoing stuff he's alluding to and we'd much rather see happen that an EGM. The purpose of all the hard work that's gone into this is to ensure there's still momentum should the preferable stuff fall through. Also, like with previous attempts to buy him out/remove him, I doubt they'd have been triggered without some of the fan base showing their discontent. Not everyone wants to sit back and wait for others to do the dirty work. No matter how many digs folk give you for seemingly not being real fans. If choosing to put your head above the parapet and doing what you feel is in the best interests of the club's future makes you a lesser fan in some folks eyes then I couldn't care less.

  20. Only cared about this cup once, when we played Dundee in the semi-final. Crowd of around 8,500. Give us meaningful change, a sixteen team top league, not playing about with the diddy, diddy, cup.

  22. Someone is trying to buy MJ out. There have been people doing that at various points all during his time on the board. At some point he is going to have to take what's on offer and, like a stopped clock is right twice a day, McLean can then tell us he told us so. It would be fantastic if we could avoid an EGM. We should never have been put in a position where we have no other choice than to go down this route....no one will be more pleased than the organisers of this if MJ sells up and there is no need at all to do it.

  23. We have secured a written mandate from over 15% of the clubs shareholders and have verbal confirmation of support from more than 5% of the company shareholding. This is above the threshold required to force the board to call an EGM to discuss any matters that we request. We are currently in discussion with our solicitors to ensure that all mandates are recorded in writing and that the agenda for the EGM is correctly defined. We expect the primary matter to be a shareholder vote of no confidence in Michael Johnston continuing in any capacity at the club as Company Secretary, Director or Club Solicitor. We are unable to make any further comment at this time.

  25. Saying that LC wasn't tactically good in the English championship means nothing about him being tactically good in the SPFL. The gulf is huge. I'm actually confident that he will bring in good players and we can have a successful season. I do say that every season though (running away smiley)

  28. The criticism of Williamson from some on this board is nothing short of laughable. As rightly mentioned, it was Bagan and Burke that changed our fortunes and a change in the way we played that won us the cup that year. He created one of the best organised defensive sides in British football at one stage... only Arsenal had a better goals against than us at one stage of the season. He moved Holt, a player many of us ridiculed, into central midfield and ended up making him an international player loved by us all. He then went on to bring us some of my favourite players to wear the stripes. Dindeleux, Durrant and McLaren. 3-0 at Ibrox, 4-0 Aberdeen, 6-0 Dunfermline all games I remember instantly under Williamson... Totten gave me 3-2 and 4-2 against Hibernian. We are Killie, not Real Madrid, if you're looking for sexy football and glory trips in Europe combined then you're following the wrong club. Aberdeen are a woeful side to watch, but effective, Hibernian were considered a great side to watch for long spells of a season and failed to secure promotion. Can't have it all!!
