  1. Just to chuck a point into this debate – it seems to me there’s an odd sense of realism in a lot of the fans staying away that I sort of understand. To continue to support a club like Killie you have to be realistic. If you expected victories every week you wouldn’t go. We are basically now down to a hardcore of fans who just love the Killie or who are kept interested for other reasons. By that I mean going along fully expecting defeat but enjoying seeing progress in the team, younger players rising to the occasion etc. That realism I’m talking about is what keeps a hardcore of fans turning up each week. The flipside of it is this – who can blame them from sitting in with a pint and BT Sport instead of going along to a Celtic game? £26 to lose the feeling in your fingers and toes, listen to ‘those songs’ from the Celtic fans and with a 99.99% chance of defeat. I was there on Friday and stood on at the end to clap the players off the pitch. Great performance. Sounds daft to say it – but I just about enjoyed it. The gulf is as big as I can ever remember it between the two clubs and we gave them a good game. But I don’t judge anyone for staying away. I think the point I’m trying to make is that there is bad apathy and understandable apathy. I understand people staying away from televised Celtic games. I don’t think it necessarily follows that that is an embarrassment for the club in the position we are in at the moment. I’d really start to worry if we were going well in the top six with a better squad and couldn’t get the fans in the gates. For now – I can see both sides.

  2. Only change I'd potentially have made in hindsight was Bojaj in Rory's no.10 role and Tyson leading the line. That's the first I've seen of Bojaj though and it appeared he's more comfortable facing the goal than with his back to it. Tidy player and good control, and I wouldn't judge him solely on a game against the Celtic back line. if played in a forward midfield role I doubt he'd have covered the ground Rory did tho, even tho in possession Rory wasn't great tonight. Bring the Hearts game Rory back please!! As for pricing and lack of fans, it would cost our family an additional £150+ to attend the 3 OF home fixtures on top of our family season ticket price. What other club in the U.K. actively encourages regular fans not to attend home games by pricing them out of it? Either ditch the family season (no OF games) ticket, or offer all league games at a sensible price. And it's easy to encourage pay at the gate home supporters to attend, just issue a discount voucher at the games leading up to OF ones to allow our fans to purchase a ticket for Celtic or Rangers games for £20, therefore not breaking any rules. dont expect our "board" to listen to the fans anytime soon though!

  3. We want them to fight for us.....but this is how much we back them in the fight. I wish people would take their focus off the opposition for these games and focus on supporting OUR team. The same excuses could be used by any other club, but no other set of supporters abandons their team quite like us on these occasions.

  4. Born in Helensburgh. Dad was a Dumbarton fan (ex-player). Four boys all taken to Boghead. I still look out for their result. We decided it was too boring all supporting same team. We all picked a team to support. I chose Killie because we spent our summer holidays on my uncle's farm near Tarbolton. My brothers support Hibs, Dundee Utd. and Motherwell. Dad did well keeping us away from OF scum. First game was a pre-season friendly against Sunderland in mid to late 60s (0 - 0). Now staying near Livingston. My 2 daughters and 1 son-law are all Killie fans. Currently working on 2 grand-daughters (5 & 2), but as their mum and dad are both Killie should be a dawdle. 5 year old already there. ST holder since 1998.

  7. I won't be able to attended the trust meeting on Saturday but I would love to hear some positives coming out. I was NAPM. I have been wearing my blue and yellow scarf at all games since our pre season friendly against East Fife a few years ago . I have been shouting abuse at MJ at every opportunity including on the street. I have signed the MJ out sheet. I have had face to face arguments with my fellow fans, where has it got me !! What about sending a real positive message to any future investors. I know it would stick in my throat the thought of the rat getting our money, but for one game only (Dundee) let's pack the place out. Bring any lapsed fans back encourage any one with Killie sympathies along . I would pledge to bring along Ten Extra on that one day .Just a thought .KTID.

  9. The club have made it perfectly clear that they would rather have old firm fans at these games than they would Killie fans.

  10. It irritates me that in the 90s, 00s, we could give these pair a real run for their money most times when they had genuine class in their sides and if you happened to get overrun then at least it was by a good team and you saw some football. Now all they have is third rate diddys and they hammer us more than ever. Absolutely no pleasure in attending these fixtures. Didnt jaakola say the baying mobs behind BOTH goals had an adverse effect on his game in the 3-3 match? Must be brutal for our keeper plaing in front of that for 90mins.

  11. Don't remind me of that selfish charlatan's lovefest with them. The day he abstained from the Sevco vote because that's what the 'majority of our season ticket holders wanted' was one of the most shameful in our club's history. It wouldn't surprise me for one second if he received some other form of 'encouragement' to vote like that. I think all the other clubs actually increased their attendences the following season as a result of them going bust but because of him it was yet another major step down for us as many fans were sickened by his attitude, arrogance and sheer duplicity. I remember thinking at the time that despite the fact that I was so embarrassed by my club, the fact that other club's fans were shocked and disgusted by our stance and the fact that our chairman stood alone in the SPL in refusing to listen to his own supporters we would at least get rid of him over this as there was no way he could survive it. How wrong I was with that! However, Killie have certainly lost out on income where I am concerned. Since then I have bought only one season ticket (and will never do so again until he has gone) where prior to that I had a season every year since the seats came in during the early 90s. The Sevco vote was my tipping point and I'm sure many other fans have reached their's in the last few years as attendances drop and drop even further - but what am I thinking, our sales of season tickets are at record levels... It is real tragedy that the fans have not managed to force him out of our club.

  12. I'll tell you what in the last few weeks McLean'a posts have been on the money like this one. What's happened McLean you are becoming likeable these days! He's right our support needs to take a long hard look itself and think about supporting our team instead of fearing the opposition at old firm games.

  14. Fans have a personal choice to make and if cost is an issue you have to respect that but as a long term season ticket holder who has seen all the twisted sisters games at rugby park over many seasons of course it would be nice if more people attended. But I also know we have been shafted by our club 'custodians ' various times over the past few years when giving up our seats to them both when they were winning the league at our place and being fed the line that the extra cash would be used for new floodlighting etc .As for last night's game I don't think any of us really expected to beat them but the way the game panned out has really left me feeling frustrated because of the way we let them dictate so much of the game.A better effort in the second half admittedly and young frizzell and Taylor were up for it.They got every lucky break going and if you watch the ball deflecting into members path to make the pass for Armstrong to score it was really unlucky. And why the ref took so long to book Scott brown I don't know! All in all let's give the lads some credit for at least making a fist of it second half an if we can show the same effort against the teams in our end of the league we maybe okay.ktid!

  15. I don't find it embarrassing at all, all it shows is that our fans aren't interested in the old firm. i'd be embarrassed if I was an Aberdeen fan, where an extra 6 or 7 thousand home fans appear out the woodwork when the old firm arrive, where are they for aberdeens other games? now that's embarrassing

  17. The person that runs the club. Sorry the parasite that runs the club, does not give a toos about the killie support. He is only interested in getting as much cash in as he can so he can keep his pension pot going for another month or two. He will always charge as much as he thunks he can get out sevco and celtic. Our support are not considered

  20. Originally from Ardrossan. Was the only Killie fan in my year at school, was only about 5 of us in the school at the time. My whole family are Sevco, but after my papa took me to my first ever Killie game in '98 I haven't looked back. Moved to Australia in '09 so don't get to see us as often anymore, but was up at 6am this morning to watch the Celtic game.
