  1. It's perfectly reasonable. A hospitality package cost is never just the sum of its individual parts. Part of going is the social side and, yes, the club has to make something out of it. Unfotunately a small minority revelling in being negative for the sake of it. Must be very demotivating for those remaining at the club trying t do their best.

  2. To be fair to Clark, I don't think he wants to be doing so many loan signings. The ddifficulty with doing a direct comparison to other managers is the last two f**ked us up so much that Clark's main job is trying to get us to survive. The management over the last few years has made us a really unattractive proposition for any player. If we finish, say, 8th, this year then I think we might start looking like a better option. Also worth noting, as much as we bemoan the loanees, that the teams around us making permanent signings aren't havering much luck. We can send folk back - Partick are stuck with nae goals Azeez, the Hamilton signings have been poor. Even County with more cash haven't done all that well. I'd be as annoyed as everyone else if it's another summer of loan players etc but I don't think that's what Clark wants. In terms of comparison, also worth noting that Locke had a fit Kiltie and Josh Magennis and still managed to run us into the ground.

  3. This is exactly how i feel, however many of my mates seem to think by stating this i'm being negative. We will be back to square one in May and again it’ll be transfer bingo like has been the case the past twice he’s signed players. The only worrying thing is that literally the only sellable asset we’ll have is Kiltie/Taylor. We need to sign players, develop them and sell for a fee. We are chopping and changing far too much to achieve this and by signing so many loan players I don’t think we’re an attractive proposition to other players signing for us on a permanent basis. We will likely sign another 10 players in June/July and going by this season we’d be as well not entering the League Cup as they’ll be used to gain match fitness and nothing more. Loan signings are good to bolter the squad with a few but not to make up half your squad and having to send them back in January as they aren’t up to it.

  4. Pretty certain it was Duncan. It developed when he was playing for Bolton Wanderers.

  5. Ticket £20. Curry and a pint £10. Programme £2. Total £32. A wee £8 profit. Almost seems too cheap. Well done Killie

  8. With all the 'welcome' email packs sent out to Killie fans who have signed up on the new Trust database, the next stage is twofold...contact everyone who is currently still on the old one (again) and see if we can get what's left of their membership refunded and moved over to the new one (if that's you, contact me)...and complete the shareholder register for publication on the Trust section of the website. While I'm just about to get the former under way, I'm nearly done with the latter, and I have to say I'm pretty shocked with the names on there are no longer active members...and even more shocked at the number of people I know who have never signed up to the Trust in the 14 years it has been going. Which begs the question...why? We all know the state of Scottish football, never mind just our own club, and we are not going to be up there with the Barcelona and Bayern Munich size of clubs any time soon; but we all want to be the best we can be and to be able to watch decent football and achieve a wee bit of success with a club which is at the heart of our community and we can proudly call our own. That's what the Trust is all about, I can't for the life of me think why would any Killie fan not want to be a part of that? We have 163 active members registered on the new system, with around 100 still 'live' on the old one. Despite having over 1,200 shareholders the most we've ever had active at one time is just over 350...and that's when we first launched in 2003. Statistics show that most Trusts average 10% of a club's season ticket holders, so on the surface we would appear to be average; I don't know if it just me but I don't think that's good enough for us! The only people that have no agenda other than the progress of the football club are the fans, we have to take ownership of that and do something about it and take some responsibility for how the club is run. Of course, it is important to get the business side of things right, but first and foremost we are a football club, and we only exist to keep a team on the park and the fans happy; it is not about delivering dividends to shareholders, the majority of whom couldn't care less if they ever saw a penny back from their investment. Profits should be ploughed back into the club, not into pension funds. As it stands we seem to have lost sight of this. Success is measured by whether we stay afloat or not and we continually hive off our assets and our best players while not caring how many fans still want to attend, as long as the cash comes in from somewhere...and one-off payments courtesy of other teams and players appearing at international level is not what anyone considers sustainable planning. The rot has to stop somewhere and we have to do what every other sensible club is now doing and start consulting the very people who are the only reason the club exists...the fans. Football without fans, as we know, is nothing. Knowing that our fate is in the hands of (some) people who may or may not see the betterment of the football club on all fronts as a priority scunners me no end. What irks me more is that we have the opportunity to have our voices heard and yet appear to be happy as long as someone else has to do the dirty work and we can continue to toddle along to games on a Saturday blissfully oblivious to how the club is being run. Ironically the very same people will be the ones looking for the Trust to do something if things take a turn for the worse. If you know me and you are not a Trust member, expect to be contacted in the next few weeks, and I'm not taking no for an answer. The first target is 500 members; but it will be disappointing if we don't get double that. Don't be one of the Muppets who talk a good game but do nothing about it. 9. Suppose the flip side is £40 for a pint, a ruby and a program, if you have a season ticket. Disnae quite compare to the booling clubs for very similar money. Well done to the club for trying but as ever the catering supplied by hotel. Unlikely the club is making much margin at this but we will never know... Until he is gone I'll not be putting a penny into the hotel, directly or indirectly.

  13. Your correct regarding the bottom 4 mate, but until get rid of the rat, we won't be allowed to spend on a better calibre of player to keep us away from there. The situation at present is a million miles from where we should be or want to be, but with zero investment and an ever decreasing budget, until the rat is flushed out, I fear we will be scratching around the loanee market again next year, calling in favours from LC's contacts down south. Last year when Locke left, personally, I had lost all hope of staying in the Premiership, luckily we scraped through in the playoff. This year there is hope we will be far enough ahead of the bottom two spots possibly even before the split, so in my eyes it is at present and would be improvement. We all have expectations but I feel your asking too much too soon when our manager is doing the best he can with the hand he's been dealt.

  17. Seems Scott Boyd was the player on pre game press duties today ------hopefully he will be back in the team tomorrow -- at least to free up Dicker to strengthen our (weak) midfield *********************************** Scott Boyd is determined to help Kilmarnock stay safe in the “strangest league” he has been involved in. There are only six points separating the bottom seven teams in the Ladbrokes Premiership with no sign of anyone being cut adrift. And while the William Hill Scottish Cup fifth round takes place this weekend, eighth-placed Killie, knocked out in the previous round by Hamilton, have the chance to move into the top half of the table in their rescheduled game against Dundee at Dens Park. The 30-year-old defender, who made his loan move from Ross County permanent during the transfer window when he signed until the summer of 2018, is looking to take advantage of the opportunity to pick up points. You can’t predict any of the results out with Celtic this season,” said Boyd. “It has been the strangest league I have been involved in as you can go two or three games and find yourself in the top six or the bottom of the league. “So we are focusing on ourselves. “Everybody’s form has been up and down and clubs are taking points off each other. “We know how important it is for us to do the business ourselves and not rely on other teams. “We are all battling to get into the top six because that is a massive incentive for us. “The fact that we are the only teams playing gives us that wee incentive that if we go and do the business we will be sitting in that top-six position with only nine or 10 games to the split. “Dundee will also be looking at the top six but we have to look at ourselves, we are a good side as well and at our best I fancy us against anybody in the league.” Boyd was more than happy to sign a permanent contract with the Rugby Park club following his six-month loan spell. The former Livingston and Partick Thistle player said: “When the manager Lee Clark said he would like to make it permanent it was a no-brainer for me. “I was delighted. I have settled well down here. “Everyone made me really welcome when I came here. “So to get an 18 month-deal, it gave me a bit of security and it showed the faith the manager and the club have in me and as a player it is nice to feel wanted.”

  18. Your ramblings may not be from a mad man but a very astute thinking person. Could the scenario you have imagined be the reason why BB is not actively pushing for MJ to go as he may well be the private individual you speak of.

  19. As promised. Jags 0 Killie 1 (could have been 2 if Gary Holt had been thinking sexy thoughts as the cross went past his 'lower abdominals' 10/02/96 Look at the state of that tattie field! Lekovic, MacPherson, Black, Reilly, Monty, Anderson, McKee, Henry, Wright. Brown, Holt Attendance: A curiously round 4800. Hmmm...

  20. Last season other teams had more because Celtic had dropped points somewhere along the line and they had more points against Dundee utd. This season it's a lot more even and we are all taking points off each other in bottom 7. Celtic are in a league of their own.

  22. It's only one year on but, so we can't expect miracles at this stage. I was always content to not be involved in the bottom two places this year... and I genuinely think we will be comfortably safe come the end of the season. I agree, not losing 4-0 isn't exactly anything to write home about, but we are a more organised and harder to beat side this season than under Locke. I'm sure someone posted a while back that we haven't lost to a side outside the top 5 places since September(ish) time in the league... that's a massive improvement on Locke who seemed to somehow manage wins or credible draws in games we had no right to win based on our form against the sides around us.

  23. Lost 4-0 at home to Dundee Lost 5-2 at home to Partick Lost 4-0 at home to Ross County Lost 2-1 at home to Accies Lost 1-0 at home to Well Lost 5-1 at United There's just a few results. Now if you can't see our form or results are better against the teams around us then, to use your words... it's ludicrous! As for Celtic results... it's not even close to resembling the same Celtic team under mad Ronnie. I take results against Celtic, Aberdeen and even Rangers as unexpected bonus points.

  24. There are a few people having problems with the Trust's new sign up page, mainly those using Macs or iPads and Safari which it doesn't seem to like much (we have passed this on to the developers of course). I have a few hours off today, if anyone is having such problems and they want me to bring the Trust iPad (we use Chrome on it) around to their house/work and help them sign up then just get in touch. No cake, coffee or beer required..and no weirdos, then again we'll accept weirdos, but not Ayr fans.

  25. I heard he is from some Danish package, is quite a lean boy and is on a scoring streak. Goes by the nickname Smokey and said he thought he'd feel at home in Ayrshire. Barry Fry had been a previous manager and was once coached by Paul McGrillan.
