He also played a couple of seasons at Brechin and iirc was part of the team which knocked us out the cup. Travelled every day from Fife through to training (I’m looking at you Greg Shields you pussy) and went out running on the beaches of Fife most nights accompanied by his dogs. Fantastic servant to the club. They certainly don’t make them like that anymore.9 points

If calling Killie fans "KFC Sh***bags" is us pulling together I'd hate to see us when we're not.3 points

Come in guys can we stick to the script please? I and most other folk on the forum don't give a flying f**k where either of you sit so long as you turn up and support our team, if you want to act like p3 kids take it offline! Thought we were meant to be discussing the game. So on Findlay, am relieved Well don't have that flying machine Marvin whatshisname anymore as what Boyd and Broadfoot lack, but what Findlay has got, is a bit of pace.3 points

As for Bully he was my fave player growing up, scored some big goals for us too. Met him a few times since he left and he's an absolute gent.3 points

Don’t worry bud, my jets are calm. I was simply worried you’d been the victim of unjust censorship again. I should have know it was something as simple as a unionist struggling with numbers. You guys have form for that. If you need a hand working out how these changes would effect you, just give us a shout xx3 points

When we strip away the wind and pish from the swivel-eyed bigots and the foaming-at-the-mouth political point scorers like Kelly, what is the debate about? The tribalism around football acts as a trigger for some normal folk to shed their self control and turn into 90 minute bigots, more so than any other normal activity. Sectarianism is a cancer in our society which must be cut out. Education can be used on the kids and this law should be used to deal with the 'adults'. I don't see a problem with trying to control this. I totally accept that the lack of action against large groups of fans undermines it and that needs to be addressed and the law strengthened and enforced, not scrapped altogether. The SFA and the clubs (2 in particular) need to sign up or face serious consequences.2 points

If Greer goes it will hopefully be with everyone's thanks for coming in and stabilizing things. We could have been in a far worse place without his influence.2 points

3 weeks until the end of the year, seems as good a time as any to start making guesses for 2018. For those of you unawares; we all have a guess at who will be the first celebrity to die in the year, one guess per person, a couple of people complain about the thread then @skygod wins. When the New Year eventually comes, it just turns in to a thread to post when someone famous dies.1 point

Nice day, pre Xmas game/ family day, on a good run, chance to move up to 7th, the Clarke factor, general good feel - can we beat the Hibs crowd and get to 5500? It's a big test of how far we have come.1 point

He was a good player at that level. Would be booked or sent off if he played nowadays, yet IMO he was just a 'hard' player.1 point

Heh heh. Not yet. Really enjoyed the game despite a poor show in the first half. God knows what SC says to them at half time but it was like two different teams. Brophy's goal was a peach and Boyd again worked a great shift and deserved the wee bit luck that got the second. Great atmosphere in that wee bit of the stand they give us. Still hoarse. Not used to all that singing. How Andrew Dallas remains in a job is a mystery. Its almost like he has a faither with influence.1 point

Nice to see a bit of respect for Killie supporters who spend money on a Season ticket to support the club both financially and at home games! My wife has a season ticket and refuses to go to any home game involving the twisted sisters. She hates the atmosphere at these games, not only having to sit through the bile coming from the away fans, but it brings out the worst in our fans too. I still go to the games but can totally understand why fans choose not to go to these games, especially if they take their kids with them.1 point

It’s funny that when Boyd is scoring the criticism of his media commitments decrease. Like Estragon I’ve no problem with him trying to please all of his employers.1 point

I'll 2nd that. Fantastic player - i remember doing work experience at Rugby Park whilst at Secondary School and an advert came on the tv in the canteen for Linguaphone on one of the days and he turned round to Martin Baker and said "here, you could mibbie learn English wae that ya prick!"1 point

Favourite Ally Mitchell goals were the 2nd against Celtic in the 2-0 win October 98 I think ? And I'm sure he scored in the Ayrshire cup final where we got back from 2-0 down to win 4-2...Dylan Kerr ended up In the moffat celebrating his own goal1 point

I don’t believe there’s a solution that’s both logical and ethical. I think it would have to be one or the other.1 point

This is a fair point, while I'd like to see Findlay back at centre half I'm comparing him to the dross we've had the last few seasons, as you mention if hes not a ball playing centre back I can't imagine Clarke will fancy him Either way whoever Clarke goes with, that's the right choice!1 point

The Herald claimed 1.15 million would pay more tax and 1.4 million less tax - under a headline of ONE MILLION MIDDLE CLASS SCOTS ARE TO PAY MORE TAX. It's income tax anyway, not the total tax take - the media are deliberately misleading people on this. Reason its less for low earners is cos as a % of income, the poorest pay more in tax than the richest, due to other indirect taxation like VAT,N.I., council tax etc. http://www.independent.co.uk/news/uk/home-news/lowest-earners-more-tax-richest-office-national-statistics-inequality-council-tax-vat-equality-trust-a7704331.html Officials statistics show the lowest tenth of earners pay an average of 42 per cent of their income in the form of income tax, national insurance, VAT and council tax. In contrast, the richest 10 per cent see around a third (34.4 per cent) of their earnings go to the taxman, according to analysis by The Equality Trust.1 point

1) He's older certainly, but he's been the victim of a system that doesn't suit him anymore. It's not 2013/14 anymore when he was outstanding as a lone striker. Playing that position for the last two years without a midfield willing to step up and support him was dreadful, but now it seems like Brophy provides the energy and enthusiasm for Boyd to pick up the scraps, and age won't necessarily be a barrier to him doing this effectively for as long as we play in the way we've been doing. 2) I know this is an unpopular opinion, but I've seen nothing that suggests his media commitments hamper his ability on the pitch. As long as he's asked questions about Rangers, he's got a professional duty to answer them - and this really doesn't bother me. 3) A replacement for the first guy to score 100 goals in 40 years? Honestly, I don't know if he's even been born yet.1 point

My favourite Ally Mitchell goal was against Motherwell played in a gale. Ball was heading well wide of goal and the wind bent it right into the corner, the look on the Motherwell goalkeeper's face was priceless. Devastated for him when he missed a relative sitter in the 0-0 Rangers Cup semi-final, thankfully he got a winner's medal in '97. Fans love players that give 100% and Ally certainly did that for Killie.1 point

I think you’re right. I certainly couldn’t imagine either of those two moaning about traveling, training times or childcare issues. I doubt either owned a Louis Vuitton wash bag either. He’s my wife’s favourite ever Killie player and I used to wind her up that he was just a “Ballingry wid tink”.1 point

Exactly. The last thing we need is a law that is impossible to enforce. How many times now have the OF fans been corralled into an away end and still belt out "folk songs" that clearly fly in the face of what the legislation was trying to achieve? And let's face it this entire project was an attempt to clamp down on sectarianism, by them, pure and simple. Questions: 1) Why have a law that your police can't enforce? 2) Why prosecute random folk? That's singling out. 3) What happened to freedom of speech?1 point

I see wee Kez has had her knuckles rapped. If I took 3 weeks off work without agreeing it with my project manager I think I would be in a bit more bother than Kez seems to have been in. Especially as her wee unauthorized break was in support of the "Make Kezia Dugdale a very rich person" enterprise. Labour really have to take a long hard look at themselves and ask if this is the image they want to project of a privileged minority jetting round the world on self iindulgent voyages of discovery while the Tories rip the life out of the NHA and the Welfare state.1 point

If you go to the football and conduct yourself in an acceptable manner then what does it matter, you will never be on the wrong end of it. Until the day you cant swear at the fitbaw it will never affect my life as I go to games for the games not to get outlandishly drunk and look for a scrap or sing about King Billy or the IRA.1 point

If the SFA had the baws to deal with it then the law would never have been needed. About time the governing body actually stood up to the filth and docked points/ closed stadiums to force the clubs to get their fans in line.1 point

Personally I don’t have a problem with it. People need to take responsibility for their own actions and stop blaming the authorities who legislate when they can’t behave themsleves.1 point
