  1. Sat in the Frank Beattie Stand today. Was surrounded by the usual moaning, greetin faced know it alls. Gave McKenzie pelters after about 5 mins, “I’d Drive him to Perth tomorrow!” Was one of the shouts. Had to move seat at half time because it was doing my head in. Glad to say I thought McKenzie was one of our better players today, his usual industrious self, willing to break the lines and support the strikers, which lead to a dubious penalty late on. Suffers from having the versatility to play a number of positions, but is hardly the worst player to pull on the shirt in the last few years. His attitude is unquestionable. To the guys around me, you made a dreadful first half a whole lot worse.

  9. I thought he had an excellent game away to Hearts and was one of the better players away to Dundee, prior to the Home match against Aberdeen. Maybe he’s not good enough to hold down a position with our current midfield, but I’d rather have someone with his versatility sitting on the bench than someone who can only play one role. We’ve all seen the damage trying to play square pegs in round holes can do. No telling what our midfield might look like next season either. A bit of continuity wouldn’t go amiss.

  10. The encouragement and support for the team that night was at a level not seen at RP for years.

  12. It's 4 home wins on the bounce and a game under any of our last three managers we would have lost. I think County were undefeated at Killie in 8 matches or something along those lines. We won... ugly... but we are in the next round. I'm glad it was ugly because Clarke will make sure they get a rocket up their arse in time for Aberdeen next week. f**king four home wins!!!! How long has it been since we've lost!? I'm delighted.

  15. As a matter of courtesy it would be appropriate to invite him to RP given his sisters totally unnecessary and selfless promotion of us. No matter how cringeworthy you think, lets face it, Marie Osmond couldve ignored us. She didnt and we're the better for it. Paper Roses!!

  16. He was rotten against Aberdeen. He’s barely featured since despite JJ's dip in form and suspension. He was also someone we would have badged for Brophy's role but didn’t get it when he was injured for the Hibs game. The homegrown players I agree is slightly disappointing but at the same time I think there will perhaps be fewer false dawns going forward. It’s been great watching kids come through but too often they are quickly disappearing into football oblivion. To get into the current team they need to be up a level. Perhaps in the past given the poor performances of the first team it’s been too easy to make the jump from development team.

  18. Can we get the boys in hospitality back every week. For the first half they were the highlight and created an atmosphere which rippled into the East stand. Enjoyed watching them from the East and wouldn’t have minded a bit of that buzz where I was sitting. Good result, on to the next round.

  19. Who gives a flying duck about the quality. It's the cup, we won, we're in the next round. They spent 90+ minutes closing us down and killing the game. Goalie was the worst timewaster since Czerny when at Hamilton. Great larf seeing him going tonto at FT. Moreover, we won without Mulumbu who is the key performer in the team IMO. He's back next week. SSC organises a team brilliantly well. All positives from me. Bring on the scum at ToP.

  20. Worked his socks off . Grows into game last part of game due to his supreme fitness . Won us the game today with his run. Definitely worth at least another year for me . Doubt he would want to go elsewhere for possibly less money to a team on a slide in comparison to staying with the revival.

  21. I don't like the Boyd/Broadfoot combination at the back, neither of them has any pace. Effiong doesn't look that fast but he easily outpaced Scott Boyd twice in the first half. Don't know if Boyd had an injury but we looked better when Findlay came on. Not a big McKenzie fan but he did keep fighting for the ball throughout the game, and won the highly dubious penalty. Well taken penalty by Erwin, hopefully it will give him some confidence. Will take similarly poor performances all the way to the final.

  23. Not interested in this trip to Somerset. Get them at RP. We are winning games at home. Get them at home and give them a doing. If not that a trip to any lower league side

  24. Wouldn’t get near our team at moment IMO. And if that’s his attitude I don’t think SC would want a player mouthing off against a manager in public

  29. Rory looked a real prospect when he broke through and still does in flashes. The clowns masquerading as his manager over last few years and the club's turmoil did not help his development. Their fault not his that he hasnt fulfilled his potential Suspect he may flourish at St Johnstone given right environment and coaching. All the best Rory!!

  34. Pretty poor game, draw would have been a fair result. Not sure if it was a penalty but if Chow put his hand on McKenzie's back then it was understandable that he went down. Thought McKenzie played well and worked hard but we created next to nothing. We missed Mulumbu's composure in the middle of the park. Apart from a good shot from Brophy and a great ball across the box from O'Donnell in the first half that was about it for chances. Power was a deserved MoM, Jones drifted in and out but lacked any penetration and while the back four plus Finlay were very comfortable the passing from Broadfoot was terrible. He needs to play it short as his attempts at long passes just conceded possession to them. We are very hard to break down under Clarke but we could with a bit more creativity going forward, Kiltie helped to link things up when he came on but a couple of poor final passes showed he lacks match sharpness. Erwin very confident with the penalty, maybe this will be the turning point for him. Great to be in the next round for a change. Would love Brora, home or away.

  36. We won the Reserve League Cup in 64/65. We fielded three keepers over the ten ties - McLaughlan, Ferguson and Forsyth. Presumably, Forsyth kept goal in the final which was played at the end of the season.

  38. Of course it would be good publicity to highlight the family link. A certain club from the East end of Glasgow promote any link with any "celeb" who can get them publicity.Surely it would be good to get into the newspapers and the telly with wee jimmy promoting the club?

  39. Longest serving player currently? He scored an absolute belter at Dens a few seasons back by dribbling past half their team did he not? Just not nailed down a consistent level of performance or position. Best of luck to him, one of the good guys.

  40. Thanks for that goal at McDiarmid last year, winning the penalty at Septic Park, the great game against Hearts at ToP last season, his first goal against Dundee Utd and quite a few other moments.
