  1. The game against Nithsdale Wanderers is listed in the Matches section of the Kilmarnock FC website so somebody at Killie thinks it's a first team game.
  2. That brings back memories, I couldn't remember the score though. I remember there being no Albion fans on the terracing but then getting pelted with stones, bricks and bottles from the hill to the side. I was also on the double decker bus that got bricked, I think it was on the main street at the time. The journey back to Kilmarnock wasn't great. It's the only time I've ever been in Coatbridge, somehow never felt overly welcome there...
  3. Sorry I couldn't make it yesterday, thanks for the feedback. I will try to make it to the next one.
  4. KillieFan - I live in Newcastle and travel up for games when I can. I wish I'd thought beforehand as you could have joined me on my drive up and joyous journey back on Friday. I will be going up for a few games next season and will let you know in advance.
  5. Thanks Cill - lesson learned.
  6. Thanks but I looked up IPTV and asked about the game, they said they will not be showing it.
  7. I am a ST holder and received notification that I have a ticket for the Chadwick stand for tonight. I am a ST holder but thought that you had to ask to be in the ticket ballot, I didn't. I can't attend - is anyone else able to use my ticket?
  8. Still can't believe he agreed to join us, he was such a fantastic player, a joy to watch. Monty, Dave McKinnon and a few others played a big part but TB was the spark that ignited us.
  9. Thanks Stefanus and Killie Billie's pal - That's him. I remember that I've never felt so sure that someone would miss a penalty, just the way things were going for us that day. It's amazing that we turned things round that year, we used to be scared to play Brechin. The promotion game against Cowdenbeath was just brilliant, well, after the final whistle it was.
  10. My memory is that we missed a penalty that day, can anyone confirm that and remember who took it?
  11. Aye, losing that game was one of the real low points. I think East Stirling were officially the worst team in Scotland at that time. They were inspired by playing in front of an actual crowd. I went to nearly every game that season, great memories of strange grounds, friendly pre-match social clubs, and the buzz that started growing through the season.
  12. I think that was the guy at East Stirlingshire FC that did that. We played them at Firs Park in 1989/90 and I remember the match announcer starting with "Is this a crowd I see before me...?" We lost a truly terrible game. We played Stenny at Ochilview the same day that Scotland beat England to win the 1990 Rugby Grand Slam. Big mistake choosing to go to Ochilview, we lost - 2-0 I think.
  13. Really delighted with this appointment and that interview has cheered me up even more. Tommy was Newcastle's goalkeeper when I moved here in the early 1990s. They were awful but he was far and away their best player. He played a big part in keeping them up in the old 2nd division and was part of the success when Keegan became manager. I was sure we would miss out on him when the Motherwell job came up and we stuck with Dyer. I think Well made a big mistake. I've got a really good feeling about this.
  14. Historyman - I am a trust member and the comment that you take exception to does not represent my views. I welcome the posts you have added, the fact that you have taken the time to post them shows that you care and genuinely want to help. I think that your input is exactly the sort of feedback Jim will have wanted when he created this thread. Your perspective will help everyone understand why some people don't think joining the trust is the right thing to do. That in itself is really helpful so thanks. I have an advantage in that, although I have never been involved in the trust, I know some of the people that are involved so know that they are involved for the right reasons. I know that they are trying to do something positive for the club that they, you and I feel so strongly about.
