  1. This! I can't believe that so many people have turned on Dicker over the last few days. My circumstances mean that I don't get to many matches these days and in any of the ones I have managed to get to, Dicker has been instrumental in holding the midfield together. If I had a criticism, it's that his distribution can be a bit slack at times, but overall, he's the kind of player you need in your team. Unlike a lot of the posters on here, I've actually PLAYED the game and have a good understanding of the dynamics. I had a good run in the North Region Juniors (was the oldest player in the league!) and managed at that level as well, so I'm pretty confident I know a 'fitba player' when I see one. Every team has a bad spell where the 'heids go doon' - we're suffering at the moment and railing on guys like Dicker and Brophy will solve nothing.
  2. I was 23 years in that wilderness and agree wholeheartedly with this statement.
  3. Brophy and McKenzie are both very good players with a great work ethic. The zoomers who throw unwarranted criticism at them know NOTHING about the game and probably got their fitba education from FIFA on the PS4 and a Vinnie Jones video.
  4. Total legend! I met him in the lounge, post-match back in 2002 when I was playing at RP. He was visiting for the day - I think he was with Morton or East Stirling at the time - and he was as mad as a hatter! One of the office lassies asked if she could have a word with him - he said "OK ... ", and in full view of everyone, picked her up, threw her over his shoulder and marched with her!!! Quality!
  5. Was there an interpreter present? Kyle can barely string two words together. Phud.
  6. Speaking of defence, I met Stuart Findlay in my local cafe today - the aptly-named Cafe Alessio in Kirkintilloch. Smashing big fella, really charming - "Hurry back", I said.
  7. Great game, great result and I remember it well, but for me, clubs like Killie celebrating wins over the Old Filth like we're Burkino Faso winning the World Cup only feeds their arrogance and sense of entitlement. What DID encourage me - damaged disabled area aside - was The Rangers FCs reaction to them beating US at Rugby Park on Aug 4th. We should treat the beating of Septic and Rankers like routine wins - that's the way things ought to be
  8. Robert Reilly bought me lunch a couple of times recently ... but then again we were classmates and teammates at the school. Rab's a topper.
  9. Agreed. After reading the Broadfoot interview, I winced at the thought of coming on here and reading through the backlash from the "He'll no' dae" doom merchants, but it's great to see folk's positive reaction. As well as being diehard KTID, I'm of Italian descent, so I was always going to root for AA, plus I live in Kirkintilloch and my favourite eatery there is Cafe Alessio! Forza Keeeelay for the Sue Port!
  10. Good to see folks on here taking a pragmatic view on the Broadfoot interview and I'd echo most of the comments on here. Thanks for the two years, KB, you gave us 100%, but I guess it's the classic 'doesn't fit in the new manager's plan' scenario., it's just a bit of shame about the sour grapes interview. Kiltie's comments didn't help either and as someone on this forum rightly said, he's been sidelined/overlooked by three managers, so maybe the problem lies with himself? Onward and upwards! KTID
  11. BBC Website this morning - Mark O'Hara could make a deadline-day return to Kilmarnock despite interest from Motherwell a year after the 23-year-old midfielder left Dundee to join Peterborough United.
  12. We won and kept a clean sheet. Let's just leave it at that. Save the post-mortem for the so-called experts.
