  1. Yes, although if you are referring to Branescu for example, that was under Alessio was it not? The club wasn't operating quite as smoothly then as it is now I'd suggest. Seems McInnes has a really clear vision for what he wants in his targets. I also assume Russ Richardson holds some weight (and knowledge) when it comes to sourcing these sort of guys.
  2. I would snap your hand off to keep Ndaba. At only 24 and a big physical unit he could absolutely coast this league with some proper form behind him. Kind of get the impression he buys in to the club and the support etc. Findlay obviously a no-brainer too. Dennis has been improved but with the success of Bachmann, and to a lesser extent Hemming, I think picking up good quality goal keepers on a loan each season is probably relatively easy to do, given how many are second, third or even fourth choice at big Championship / L1 clubs down south.
  3. ...and booked Warnock to complete an all round performance.
  4. Could see this being a war of attrition. 1-0 to the good guys and possibly the final nail in Martindale’s coffin.
  5. Is there anywhere that has a list of these (and the development squad) fixtures? Fancy trying to get to some but could use knowing when they are coming up.
  6. He'd be working with Doidge again. Surely that should put any concerns to bed.
  7. Is his favourite movie Creed? Nawrocki..
  8. Brilliant Killie. With a result like that I can’t wait for a week of ‘plastic pitch is a disgrace’ and comments about how poor Celtic were. If we fly under the radar all season and play like that I’ll be absolutely delighted.
  9. I don't know why it bothered me so much, but the worst part about the Mauchline one was 'Est 2023'.
  10. Deas didn’t miss a header all day. Looked composed and absolutely rock solid. Colossal performance and looks a very astute signing. Pips the goalscorer by a tiny margin for me. Special mention to every other Kilmarnock player though. What a performance.
  11. A 2 year deal for a player I felt was lazy, passive and unfit is underwhelming to say the least. His eventual signing seems to echo is playing style. Doesn't even snap in to tackles, the way a holding midfielder that we so badly need, should. Hopefully improves on last year.
  12. Not the end of the world in terms of a result, given that 11 unlikely to start against Rangers with everyone fit. Desperately light in midfield - our current midfield will not get us through a Premiership season. Desperately light up top. Badly need a first pick striker. Innes played well but looked humped later on - game was crying out for Wales. Answers on a postcard as to why he didn't get on against a Championship side with the game in the balance. Watkins and Magennis looked bright. Deas has to be part of our defence, whatever form that may take. Armstrong needs to pass the ball earlier and more often. That goalie needs dropped.
  13. Brilliant signing. Very useful player, a solid pro, knows the club and seems to have his head screwed on. Welcome back Lewis!
  14. We selling glass tables these days?!
  15. I think whether you're a Del or RR fan or not, the signing of Stuart Findlay proves we should just show a little more patience! Unless I missed something we really didn't get wind of this until last night - and perhaps that's the way it'll be with most signings. Let's reserve judgment on the squad / recruitment until everything is final.
  16. Unbelievable caption on the first tweet. Welcome back big man.
  17. Like it. The perfect antibiotic for Old Firm infections.
  18. In all honesty I think we have to give some of those names new contracts. Our rebuild job requires first team quality, Kennedy, Deas (notwithstanding his shaky starts) types. But the rebuild becomes even more significant if we have to sign on a bunch of squad players as well. I don't think any of those players are bad, albeit the jury is really still out on Murray for me, and I really think Polworth, with the right colleague in there, could be a serious player for us. It seems counterintuitive on our really tight budget, but padding out the squad with guys like these, I think, is essential to give legs a rest and rotate the squad slightly, during the course of the season. None of them should ever be regular starters. Obviously though, this only works if we get the quality we need for the first team berths.
  19. The Herald did run a story a couple of days ago about that, but it says 'he will also look to continue playing if the right option comes his way.'
  20. I'm not that keen on Donnelly but the 'focussing on the fight' chat felt a bit false to me when discussing his contract at the end of last season. Got the feeling he was leaving his options open and shopping about a bit in case of relegation - given how much time has passed now that we've achieved what he was so keen to focus on, surviving, I'd cut our losses and move on. Prefer guys who are really keen to be here, much like Deas' attitude when signing. Maybe I'm being too picky for a club in our position, but still.
  21. Joe Lewis has 6 years on McGregor. If we are signing any 'experienced' goalkeepers it should be the wrong side of 30 and not the wrong side of 40. Plus if they aren't horrible, overly angry, ex Sevco players that be grand.
  22. Not sure I agree. Admittedly played there a fair bit last season but I felt we lacked a bit more cutting edge when he played deeper than as a proper winger.
  23. My biggest concern at this stage is that, not necessarily for just the Annan game, McInnes will be tempted to use Kennedy and Armstrong as wing backs, which would extinguish our biggest attacking threats.
