DeStijl
Had never listened to any of that podcast before but I've listened to the Kenny one and three others today (Spiers, Stewart and Young) and all have been completely fascinating. Was interesting to hear Kenny on what Eremenko was like and how the change in the way the game's affected him. Also good to hear the reasoning behind some of his odd moments with the media.
bute-killiefan
The fitba hacks podcast is fantastic. Listen to the one with Stevie Grieves. It's the best one aside from the ones you've already listened too.

bute-killiefan
Hardly. He explained that he set up a system that was designed to benefit the club after he left. He stressed that the club had to bring in someone with a similar outlook or they were going to waste the talent they had in the youth set up. He was right.
bute-killiefan
Also he wasn't critisising the managers that followed him per say. He just stressed that the club wasted time and resources by hiring managers who didn't want to continue developing the players the club already had, and instead brought in their own journeymen such as the dross AJ and Locke served up
Mclean07
With all due respect, the dross fest we have had for over three years now started with the last six months of Kenny's reign. It was dross. No one can know if his long term plan would have worked. Mourinho always says that managers use that terminology to protect themselves.
bute-killiefan
True, we won't ever know. He done more damage to his career taking that Morton job than anything else though I believe he has found his level with Derry and I wish him the best.

Candygram for mongo
Kenny will always remain as the manager that won the league cup and the manager that achieved victory at Celtic Park for the first time since the fifties. He should be remembered with great fondness by Killie fans...he had to go though. Had he remained I feel sure Killie wouldn't be in the top flight just now.
cammy_boy
Enjoyed that listen. Covered a good range of topics. Kennys a complex fellow and hes not always great at putting his point across often digressing into other topics but there is a guy there that just wants to to well. Enjoyed the bit about his relationship with the media and how it can go against you as well as for you.
thesnowman21
Also thought it was interesting when he said that he believed Mark Warburton's Rangers would be found out this season, as he could clearly identify their weaknesses. Seems to be happening already.

Loads of possetion not end product. The better teams will beat them and the poorer ones will (and have already) take points off them. Warburtons also finnaly sliped into the I am Rangers manager....I.am infalable trap.

Bullitt
I was saying this exact thing to the Rangers fans in my work this last season. Warburton is an impostor, a coach who somehow finds himself in the big boy chair... think Gary Locke! After Accies took a point at Ibrox his interview was all about how they "dominated possession". It's embarrassing when a manager vindicates that their side should have won by having more of the ball. His signings are questionable, borderline laughable and after we took the point on Friday I went on their boards and the general conscientious on there was that he doesn't have "a magic hat" and he needs to go already! Celtic to win the league by 20 points this year!

Do you believe AJ And GL done a better job than he would have done? I'm not trying to be smarmy, just interested Kenny was becoming more and more detached from reality with regard to his Killie team. We were heading downhill rapidly, everyone could see that. His philosophy of playing out from the back, while admirable, just wasn't feasible with the continuing dilution of quality in the squad. He approached the Morton job in the same way and lasted about 4/5 months. The last straw being a 10-2 defeat to Hamilton. This is what would've been likely to happen to Killie. We already had little previews of this with a 3-6 to ICT and other heavier defeats. When AJ came in the squad was a shambles and as a result he had a very difficult first season but managed to survive. I believe AJ did a better job with what he had to work with in the 2013/14 season than Kenny would've done. I believe we would've been in the play-off (only because Hearts started at -15) come the end. AJ started his second season brilliantly and IMO should've been rewarded with a years' extension to his contract around about October '14. As a result he knew his time was up come May '15 and got out via the excuse of the Muirhead sale. AJ was given a hard time and a bit of a raw deal as far as I'm concerned. As for GL, he never at any stage impressed. However, your question "...done a better job"? Not sure, maybees aye, maybees naw. My opinion on what may have been re: Kenny shouldn't deflect what I originally stated: "He will always remain the manager that won the LC....won at CP for first time since 50's...be remembered with great fondness." Nobody can take that away from him. That's the way he should be remembered. Not as some eccentric character that would've cost the club money in fines for outbursts, or a guy so single minded in his way that it was likely to damage the club and take it down the divisions.
