King
From HITC Sport. Not sure how reliable they are. Kilmarnock have rejected a bid from Egyptian giants Al Ahly for their striking star Souleymane Coulibaly, HITC Sport understand. The 22-year-old is one of the leading scorers in the Scottish top flight and a string of fine displays have seen scouts flocking to Rugby Park to watch the young Ivorian. As a youngster Coulibaly was regarded as one of the finest talents for his age in world football and was snapped up by Tottenham Hotspur, but it never worked out for him at White Hart Lane and he returned to Italy where his family originally emigrated to when he was a teenager. Coulibaly, however, always wanted to make it in British football and returned to the UK signing with Peterborough, where he spent one season before opting not to sign a new deal with the Posh but instead take up a move to Kilmarnock. He has performed admirably for Lee Clark and his form has not gone unnoticed, which has led to Al Ahly making their offer - which HITC Sport understands was around £250,000 and has already been rejected by the club. Coulibaly's agent Lee Payne of Full Contact told us: "It is not surprising that clubs are tracking Souley given the goals he has scored but is happy doing his best at Kilmarnock and this is all speculation." Al Ahly are expected to return, but HITC Sport understands the player would rather return to England - should he move - and there is interest from the Championship with both Nottingham Forest and Wolves among the clubs looking at him. historyman
I don't believe it either. If the board got a bid of £250k for anyone they would bite their hand off.
SCOOT KFC
250k is a joke for a player with 2 and a half years left on his contract. Must be rubbish though as MJ would have taken it straight away!
Trojan76
As I understand it, there is interest from and English SECOND division team also. Can't imagine them offering much more for him, but could offer a decent wage imagine. Money talks, if the player thinks he can earn a wedge elsewhere and agent stirs is I reckon we could be waving goodbye.

As per usual when there is or even near a transfer window .......would depend on if the Agent by leaking this story can drum up enough interest from clubs..

I reckon he will stay till end of season at least. He has scored some good goals, but not convinced he would do a job even in championship down south
All the Wine
If we were offered 250k+ MJ would have him hogtied in the boot of his motor and be on the way to the airport in minutes!

Completely different scenario from a player who is scoring goals that feature in goal of the year on sky sports. Not even close to being a similar situation.
PrestersKtid
This is a similar situation to Sammon in that you have a player on a good goalscoring return for half a season, Coulibaly getting more attention in the media though due to nearly all his goals being belters. Sammon had a 400k odd bid from sc**thorpe accepted before we eventually got 600k odd from wigan. If anything near 500k comes in he's offski. Any sell on fee and add ons clauses are hit and miss, as we've seen with Boyd, naisy, kennedy, muirhead etc. Only Sammon and Bryson i think have got us any real extra cash since leaving. Magennis might get some though.

Mojike and Bod
Wouldn't be surprised if the club are actively trying to sell Coulibally and have asked his agent to stir up some interest. Hence his quote in the article. MJ strikes again. Let's sell our only viable saleable asset at the first opportunity so we have enough cash to keep his pension fund on life support until the end of the season when the league payment lands and season ticket sales hit. There's his true fiduciary duty. Time to starve him out on the season ticket income. A boycott of season tickets and commercial sponsorship is a must.
Robert
I know we can be stupid but to actively tout Soully. At this time would be madness in the extreme even for us

Killiepies
Surely MJ wouldn't have the sole say on transfer policy .Bowie and Kiltie would surely have some impact and it would be madness to sell our top goal scorer with no fit back up at this point in the season.

bute-killiefan
I hate MJ more than the next Killie fan, but I sincerely doubt he is actively trying to sell Coulibaly. But then again, maybe he is. Whilst stroking his cat, Mr Bigglesworth, whilst laughing, EVILY

They are both very self-made successful business men, don't get to where they do by having the wool pulled over their eyes. I think they do have a plan, but implementing it is another matter while MJ is the major shareholder. They are also tied up with the hotel along with MJ so they need to work in some sort of harmony with him. I do believe that Bowie will be good long term for the club, we need to help oust MJ first though. Anyway, another thread hijacked to slate MJ and co, this is supposed to be about Couly and being informed about the interest, is it possible to have a thread that doesn't keep getting hijacked to MJ out? Harmony you say,how about them two goons working in harmony with the fans for a change, starting with a reasonable response to the petition handed to them by the KFCSA a few weeks ago?
