piffer
That's a few weeks since MJ left. Anyone have an idea of how many sponsors have returned. I see the club announced Precision Engineering taking up sponsorship again. Were they one who was staying away because of MJ? Their certainly seems to be an uptake on sponsor deals but maybe the club are just promoting it correctly now. It would be nice to see some of the guys who were very vocal against MJ step up but that may yet come.
DrewWylie
Well said -- most of the mouthy gits used MJ as an excuse ----- and that includes them that didn't have seasons ----- I could name loads on here but don't want to embarrass
Gaz of the 20/20
I know plenty who have bought seasons who didn't have last year as well as shirt sponsorship (not many left), not sure about advertising boards etc

Mclean07
They have suspended sponsorship as they can't cope with the demand now that MJ has gone. Apparently there's a waiting list for season tickets as well

I could give you a list of folk who've bought a season for first time in 5 years. I could give you 5 or 6 names on our bus alone who've taken out sponsorship since he left. "Stuck by the club" You say that like some sort of badge of honour, inferring that those who stood against Michael Johnston did not stand by the club. Here's the news for you pal, while all those people stood by the club some of the rest of us did the dirty work which rid of the club of the pariah and could now see a turnaround in our fortunes. Did you see the new player interviews? Both of them referred to the club now being on an upward spiral. That's because those of us who took action and didn't 'stand by the club' (as far as your interpretation of that goes). Maybe you should be thanking us instead of looking down your nose at us. Anyone could have stood by and did f**k all different, if we'd all done that we'd be no further forward now and staring down the barrel of a gun instead of at long last having some hope. I stood by the club and against Michael Johnston, it takes more than putting a few quid in. Edited June 24, 2017 by Culley159

Trojan76
To be honest, the folk who have continued to buy season tickets last few seasons do deserve credit for sticking by the club, if everyone had jacked it there would be no club left, it if there was we would be toiling away down a league or two. At end if the day MJ has left because of change if circumstances in his private life, he wasn't forced out or bought out. Anyway, this isn't about point scoring, times are changing, hopefully for the best, so let's end the infighting among the fans and look forward to better days for all

Lets all agree MJ was a negative influence overall but the various strategies put in place to rid the club of him all fell flat and I think we should now move on and return to a strong fanbase turning up at games and creating a positive atmosphere at RP that the players can latch on to. The terrible tragedy that befell the Johnston family is the reason he decided to call it a day and nobody would have wished that on them I'm sure.
