Then of course theres the fact you could argue having watched Palace that they've been unlucky on a couple of occasions and it looks like it might at least click sooner rather than later where as at Killie it's been pure and utter garbage.

gdevoy
With the Palace board in charge, the exit door would have clattered Jig on the back of the head after the Ayr debacle. Humiliated by local rivals 2 divisions down after having all summer to bring in his own folks to strengthen the team.

skygod
It seems that de Boer was lucky to get as long as he did. The Palace board realised they had made a mistake before the season started! They contacted Hodgson a couple of weeks ago and only delayed pressing the button until the US co-owners could get there. Sometimes it's the right thing to do to admit you have made a mistake and rectifying it rather than to go on suffering the consequences. If this is true, did De Boer have Sahko foisted on him with Hodgson's blessings or was he allowed to sign him less than two weeks ago? £26m seems steep to keep a ruse going imo.
skygod
Sakho was at Palace last season so, presumably, de Boer went along with signing him based on the opinions of the coaching staff.
DuncanEwart
Apparently the players were upset at De Boer's "showboating" on the training ground. Never to think, wait a minute we could learn something from this man. Oh no, it's who does he think he is and I'm away to tell Mark Bright and Steve Parish I don't like him. I detest the EPL, or whatever it is they call it these days.
Wrangodog
He should have taken them to watch Atalanta train. Atalanta humiliated them and played some great football. They had a front man that held the ball up and sprayed passes to his fellow forwards, a midfield that was constantly moving to pass and receive the ball, and a defence that stopped any Everton threat. In saying that I think De Boer made the same mistake Spurs made when they got the money for Bale and blew it on some bang ordinary players, apart from Christian Eriksen.
