skygod
Or Firhill to you and me, in return for a six-figure payment.
Prahakillie
We should do it in return for a grass pitch.
Scouser2
If the money is decent and any proposed name change is in within reason then do not see the harm in it when clubs like ours seek revenue Down south it has become quite common for such stadium sponsorship and after some furore at the outset most fans seem to get used to it.
Prahakillie
perhaps the SRU could sponsor it.
Wrangodog
Surprised they didn't call it the "Two tellytubbies from Largs" stadium. Ok, admit to being jeleous of the £160m lottery win.

Wrangodog
They could rename the away stand at Firhill the "Fire deathtrap" away stand. If that thing went up in flames very few of us would make it out alive.

That's a bit like saying that Bolton Wanderers' ground will always be the Reebok! I agree though that branding a stadium only ever seems to work where it is a new-build and didn't have a previous identity.
Pompey Repatriated
Think in this case something like Firhill Energy Check Stadium works better with as established stadium. I'd be happy enough with QTS Rugby Park if they paid plenty for the privilege. Just don't paint all the metal work and seats orange!

They're supposed to be going all the way to the press box. Let them stand round the pitch. A wee velvet rope & tales of a pressure sensing alarm will keep them in check

Rumour has been doing the rounds for years now. Not happened yet. Besides the Moffat (at least) got a lot of work done to it a few years back.

Steelwork is now beyond shotblast repair in-situ,also cannot remove a beam shotblast and paint put it back and move on to next beam, whole lot needs removal to carry out effective repair, the pitch is going to be the least of our worries.
