Andy
If what is reported to be the worst kept secret in Scottish football(ok up until yesterday, probably the best kept secret in Scottish football), comes to fruition then Billy Bowie deserves some serious respect. So is it time for everyone of us to stop any remaining boycotts, if indeed these things still exist, of pie stalls, hospitality, the shop, the hotel, and indeed Rugby Park (?????), and give this man our full backing. This fells like the first good news story at Killie in a Long Long time, take a bow Mr Bowie, and thank you.

A superb appointment so lets get Killie buzzing again
Ipkis
I would hope so, yes. Time to move on and start enjoying being a Killie fan again.
Dieter's Heeder
It's like being in a bad relationship with someone then remaining unconvinced about every future relationship you go on to have. Understandable to a degree, but Bowie has to be given a clean slate and judged on his actions alone - not MJ's. This is some appointment looking to the future and we can really go on to build foundations of a proper football team again. Getting through this season will be the most difficult given what Clarke *hopefully* has to work with and where he's starting from but there's reasons to be positive so fair play. Combined with the Scott McClymont appointment and the obvious vast improvements in local community involvement and communication with fans, we look like we might just be on the right track.

Scouser2
From the summer recruitment both on and off the pitch it was obvious the club / Directors had released lot more funds than seen at RP for a long time ...... But the large extra financial outlay in now securing this kind of managerial appointment is going well beyond what most would have expected and the directors deserve great credit for getting this deal done just have to hope this appointment along with other changes see our club moving in the right direction again

And it wasn't met with the increased season ticket sales which they expected. Especially disappointing after they had been presented with a petition signed by 1,650 demanding that MJ leave the club, many promising that that would be the catalyst to their renewing lapsed season tickets. And what about those investors who were going to put upwards of £750k into the club when MJ left, irrespective of whether he sold his shares? We haven't heard much from them lately. Fortunately it looks like BB believes in walking the walk.

Crazy to think he's gone. -
skygod
That's what McMail & Co promised - "'We were interested in putting investment into the club,’ adds McMail. ‘We made an offer to the club, offering to put substantial sums in, on the proviso that Michael Johnston steps off the board. ‘He does not need to sell his shares – he only has to step down from the board.'" Bullitt
Nail on head Skygod!! They specifically said about the shares. As original poster said, B.B. needs our respect. None of this hotel thieves pish from the usual lot on here. -
Fletch
BB stepped up as soon as MJ stepped down IMO but he's made a great gesture by stumping up the cash here. Lee Clark was strangled financially by MJ last year Bowie really backed Lee McCulloch in the transfer market this year by comparison. In my opinion we should be singing Bowie's name from the stand for something as big as this. We thought we were getting the Scottish managerial merry go round, all going well he's giving us a manager who has finished top 10 in the Premier League and was assistant to one of the worlds most successful managers at the very top level. It really is a fantastic thing.
Fletch
Football is a fickle business but by and large if you do well by the fans they'll almost always give you the respect you deserve.

Mclean07
There have been an awful lot of " ah, buts " from a lot of people. All I observed for at least eight years on here was that MJ was the major obstacle standing in the way of a rising Killie. Suddenly, when it happened it was " more complicated than that ". Back BB and the club now.
fmcc
I echo the positive comments about Bowie, and stated essentially that on the other thread. My fear is that for some it's either 1. Too late d we've lost them until there's a massive upturn, or 2. There are those who, whilst MJ is still in the background with his 40%, the club can't do anything from a Purely footballing perspective to win them back.

So far, there has been no evidence that MJ will be anything other than a sleeping shareholder until he's in a position to sell his shares. Let's see if he shows up at the next AGM but, until there's evidence that he intends to intervene, it's a poor excuse for not supporting the club.
piffer
I think Bowie deserves the supporters backing. Yes he’s made some questionable decisions but he’s put his cash up time and again with this being a real signal of intent.
Jedi2
No question that Bowie's money has kept us going, and now enabled us to make the most exciting managerial appointment for 25 years, if not ever.To have a man who has managed at the very highest level and worked with some of the world's top coaches take on a job in the much maligned Scottish League is a massive coup, not just for us, but for the Scottish game. Having backed LM over the summer, and now stumped up the cash again, added to the gradually improving community work being done off the pitch, things are really moving forward for a club our size. No doubt that we still have a lot of hard work ahead just to put some results together and move up the table, but if we can achieve safety this year, the future looks very bright indeed today.

Bonbon19
Kudos to Bowie and queue the lazy hacks sycophancy about him and what it’s done to raise the profile of Scottish football. Now is the time for our board to back TIK to the max . An easy tag line for them would read We’ve done our job . Now you do yours by backing TIK
