Start your engines on the next Labour Leadership contest!! I saw this earlier in the week when ScottishWater was in the top 5 trending hashtags. How poor is Anas Sarwar that he could not beat this guy
Scooter
Surprised he's lasted well into 2019 but surely he's not got long now? That "radical agenda" didn't materialise and hasn't suffered from being English as predicted, just from being a bit pointless! Apparently there was a big meeting yesterday to discuss the future direction. If he had any self respect, the contempt from Head Office would see him walk!
gdevoy
Scottish labour seem to be more and more of an irrelevance. They have nothing to offer that is not available elsewhere.

Zorro
What percentage of voters in Scotland do we guesstimate would have to google Richard Leonard to find out who he is?
Scooter
To be fair, that goes for most in the branch these days. The Office leader is like President of the local bowling club; shots each just to get your name written in gold leaf on the big wooden board on the wall next to the bar. After that, they're under a self-imposed NDA until put out of their misery!
Zorro
Why has it become so pronounced though? If you go back to the early years of the Scottish Parliament most people would recognise Dewar, McLeish, McConnell, Alexander. Ok these politicians probably had more talent than the next batch of Grey, Lamont, Spud and Kez but even those dregs would be known to the majority of voters. Richard Leonard is practically invisible. It just seems strange.

Leonard has apparently been busy setting up Labour in Scotland LTD and Labour Party Scotland LTD, both registered in Glasgow. Obviously after independence political parties would have to be HQ'd in Scotland. Probably why the London Head Office have cut him adrift on indyref2 last week - they're already privately making contingencies to lose indyref2. If other unionist parties follow suit, could be a sign of their own 'no confidence' in a better together 2 campaign. Behind the scenes is a lot going on around the Labour Party in Scotland. RL seems to me just a middle manager brought in to manage the decline in Scotland and set up whatever needs to be set up, so Labour aren't completely wiped out by a future indyref.
