CB
Does anyone remember when it was? The abandoned game away at East Fife? I know it's sometime round about now. But, I'd like to pin it down to a specific date. Thanks.
Riccarton Bluebell
It was Dec 1989; I think it could have been the 9th.

There's a story there about Dave McKinnon almost turning blue as it was so cold and Davie only had one kidney!

That would tally with one of the blank weekends. We played Montrose on the 2nd, but didn't play again until Arbroath on the 23rd. So, either the 9th or 16th are the dates in question.

Official history book has it 23 Dec home to Arbroath. 3-0 carpet fitter all 3.
Philo
Doesn't help with the exact date but this from Davie Ross's Official History book.

skygod
As the East Fife match was abandoned, it doesn't count in any records.

a1killiefan
It was December 16th. Remember it well. Broke down twice on the way to the game. Absolutely frozen watching it. Abandoned with East Fife leading 2-1. Car wouldn't start and got jump leads from Frank Coulston to help. No luck so tried running the car down the big hill opposite the park. Still no luck but there was a social club at the bottom of the hill and they had a singer belting out Paper Roses! Took two trips back to try and fix the car and drove it home on the Monday after.

Shame they are not credited. It could be from the Kilmarnock Standard. Their stuff is homologated in with the record's website. Perhaps David Wren when he was a cub reporter, so goes uncredited.

Jedi2
Remember the infamous East Fife game well. Conditions were indeed atrocious. Tommy Burns certainly stood out a mile in that season.
