Trojan76
Would you be OK if someone came along and offered a wedge for naming rights on Rugby Park? -

piffer
Does it matter what it’s called. Everyone will still call it what they’ve always known it as. I know St Mirren fans who refer to the new ground as Love Street. Accies fans still call it Douglas or New Douglas park. Livi fans still refer to Almondvale. -
Mark Robertson
If I win the lottery it will be called 'The Old Filth are Scum Stadium' encompassing the 'Zombie Morons Stand' and the 'I'm an offended Plastic Paddy Stand' only to be used 4 times a season outwith the odd cup tie -

Trojan76
Only the commentators and pundits call it by the full "new names",
PrestersKtid
You could quite easily simply add the name of the company ahead of the stadium name. BT murrayfield for example. We could be QTS Rugby Park or similar. All these name changes mean nothing to the fans of the clubs that support them. Folk still called it St James park when Sports direct got naming rights at Newcastle. King power stadium i still call Walkers stadium. Reebok Stadium instead of Macron stadium for bolton etc etc. If we got offered a couple million to change the name then fine, it would always be rugby park anyway.
Dillinger
They could call it what they like. The money would be useful and we would continue to refer to it as Rugby Park anyway.
bute-killiefan
People can refer to it as whatever they want, but for any company paying for the naming rights, their name will be on all the official publications, match reports etc etc that include the name of the stadium. That's worth it imo Edited December 19, 2017 by bute-killiefan

Fudger
The sports direct advertisements have killed the look of St. James park, it’s so cheap n nasty looking.

Sort of justifies naming for a company when you can remember previous banded efforts rather than the original name
Trojan76
QTS Rugby Park wouldn't bother me, it is becoming the norn now for these kind of deals. Tony Macaroni is the exception to this, that just sounds bonkers and i would be embarrassed, but, to be fair, it does make the point but getting punters talking about it and raise awareness of the company and what the advert is meant to do
historyman
Dumbarton pretty much change the name of their stadium every year and for them it's important revenue. As was said above, at our level I don't see what the attraction to sponsors is. If it got us a player or two I'd be all for it. Only daft fans like Sevco get all hung up about stuff like naming rights. But then again they went a step further and renamed the club.
