Seven-in-a-row

Our dramatic 3-2 victory over Dundee last night ensured we extended our unbeaten home run to seven matches.

This is the first time we've achieved this feat since 1979 when Killie went on a run between August and October.

Killie were part time in those days and under the stewardship of club legend David Sneddon.

Here's how that run unfolded.

15/8/1979 - League Cup1st Round 1st leg - Alloa Athletic 2-1
18/8/1979 - Premier Division - Dundee United 1-0
29/8/1979 - League Cup 2nd Round 1st leg - Forfar Athletic 2-0
8/9/1979 - Premier Division - Hibernian 1-0
29/9/1979 - Premier Division - Rangers 2-1
6/10/1979 - Premier Division - Dundee H 3-1
10/10/1979 - League Cup 3rd Round 2nd leg - Hibernian 2-1

Killie then drew our next home game against St Mirren 1-1 on 20 October 1979.

Our current run of five consecutive home wins in the league is the first time we've reached this mark since 2006.

Played Hibs 7 times that season, 2 League Cup, 4 Premier League and 1 Friendly which Best played in also.I think we won 6 and drew the other.

I remember these games well, including bobby Street's hat trick. Best was miles ahead of anyone else on the pitch, pity the rest of the team were not very good.

I also saw him at Easter Road when he ran the show against Rangers with his winning 2-1.

Despite Best playing for them Hibs got relegated that season.
