Bullitt
Enjoyed that interview and to be fair I'm quite pleased he wasn't directly asked about his brother as I feel it would have deflected the attention away from him a bit. Seems a total contrast from SSC too!

BILL97
Always loved the BBC Sportscene intro on a Saturday night which showed Paul daen an overhead kick, oan the Killie goal line, to clear a goal bound strike.
Riccarton Bluebell
The goal line clearance was away to Thistle on 15/09/79. The game finished 0-0. The only game I missed that season. Excuse being I was getting married.

KA9Killie
Quite a shock to see two guys I've not seen for 30 years - guess we're all getting older. Paul was my favourite Killie player when I was young, so brilliant to hear him talking about his career. That goal against Clydebank was a cracker. The 10 club Premier Division was really cut-throat and teams like Killie never really had a chance of surviving beyond a couple of years. Even with full time football, we would not have got to 25 years and counting in our current run in the top tier without the benefit of a bigger league than we had then. It was a real shame that guys like Clarke, McCulloch, McDicken etc never got the chance to play full time.

That’s what the summers for. :-))

historyman
Would never have recognised him in a million years. Glad to know that goal against Clydebank really did happen and it wasn't just my imagination. Shame it wasn't caught on camera as it was an amazing goal.
Philo
Brilliant. Loved that, what a great speaker Paul Clarke is. Big hero of mine when I was a wee boy of 12 - 13 and onwards. Well done all, great interview
GJMB
What a Killie legend. McCulloch McLean, Robertson, Clark, Clarke, McDicken - almost every week. His overhead at Firhill, brilliant. I also remember him scoring a scorcher at Shawfield. He always had that bit of class, reminded me of Alan Hansen. Retired too early.

Riccarton Bluebell
He retired to join the police who at that time had an upper age limit of 30 to join. Paul would have been perfect for the modern game.

I remember him as an elegant midfielder in our primary school team. He captained that team even though he was couple years younger than rest of us. Also a good guy who never passes you in the street.
Beaker71
Paul Clarke deserved a move down south, like Kenny Armstrong both he and McDicken had the ability to go far beyond Killie as we were then. Shame that they both missed the opportunities that the league down south could’ve afforded them.
Dillinger
Didn't know he went to my school, St Michael's in Kilwinning. Wonder if Steve did too.

CraigM
The YouTube subtitles struggling with Scottish accents are nearly as good as the interview, some potential forum classics in there - Aquaman Legend Master Paul Clarke.
