diamond_geezer
I think it’s all on them . Our season already seems like a nice dream whereas they really, really need to win . They will qualify for their traditional late summer European exit no doubt but it looks as if they could end up fourth , having briefly pretended they were title champions .As if. At least the Huns gave it a go today. Anyway , in my book , Tuesday is a shot to nothing to use the snooker vernacular, we should get stuck in and enjoy ourselves. -
Neilly
I think you are right pressure is on aberdeen I personally think we will finish fourth but what a season if we start well and don’t lose a early goal we will win
fraz65
Unless we have a complete collapse in the last four matches and Motherwell win three out of four, top six is all but guaranteed. The cup is the only thing that we have left to play for this season. With our recent form, particularly at home, it's a fairly even match up on Tuesday night and it could go either way. I agree that the pressure is more on Aberdeen but this is far from a shot at nothing.

At the time of the draw most of us thought we’d lose at Pittodrie and we were still scrapping for points . Now we are pretty much guaranteed top 6 and are in great shape for the replay . My point is that they need to pot that difficult blue and we’ll still be fine even if they win the frame . -
C4mmy31
On the P&B match thread, the Dons fans have went from being cocky wee feckers, when the draw was made, to suddenly realising their season could be in tatters come 10pm on Tuesday night. They have genuine fear now given the current form both us & they are in. I hope we come out, give it a real go & let's see how much bottle they have when the chips are down. Boabkfc19
I honestly think we've got the beating of them on Tuesday. Big crowd will get behind the boys and it will lift them to a different level..
skygod
I think Clarke has had it in his mind all along that the league season was a bogey due to the bad start. However, due to the Herculean efforts of the players, which maybe have surprised him as much as us, Top Six looks ours to lose and not just scraping sixth either. However, I imagine he has always thought he could do something in the cup. A couple of home draws have helped and, far from believing we would lose at Pittodrie, I think that there was a lot of optimism that we could achieve a replay at least. And the semi-final draw has been kind too. I'm sure SC will be looking at this as a big opportunity to make the final where anything can happen and he will be preaching that to the players for the next couple of days. We have an unfortunate history of gaining great draws against the odds away in the cup then folding in the replay. But we are the form team, not just in the tie but in the country. Nothing to fear. Everything to gain. Edited March 11, 2018 by skygod

historyman
I think we are heading for a fifth place finish in the league which is remarkable as we only had 3 points from the first 8 games. Tuesday's game will be tight and it could go either way but we are certainly heading into it in a better run of form and with more confidence than they are. No reason at all why we can't get the win.

C4mmy31
As I posted on P&B's match thread..... I'm not buying this Aberdeen underdogs/negativity p!sh and neither is SC. Ffs, even Laurel n Hardy on Sportscene have jumped on the "Killie are favourites" bandwagon. It will be a tough game against a team who have owned us for the last 5-6 years in the league & who we have never beaten in a Scottish cup game. If we play to our strengths we have a chance but we need to be on our A-game for 90 mins. Edited March 12, 2018 by C4mmy31

Generally agree with this apart from the part in the bold. 08-09 League Cup when we won 4-2, Sammon was unplayable that night

If we play to our strengths we have a chance but we need to be on our A-game for 90 mins. Their unbeaten record against us is a complete irrelevance to me. Over that period we've had some of the worst managers I can remember over the past 30+ years. Their record is solely down to how poor we were and not how good they were. Having said that, it's going to be a very tough match and I can see this going all the way to extra time and being won late on... by who though I'm unsure.
Candygram for mongo
Really looking forward to this one. Killie will do well to get through though. Very tough! An Aberdeen win is the most likely outcome but Killie do have a reasonable chance. Exciting!
MorkenTheMonk
Given our sparkling new-found home form, this is our best chance in a long time to beat Aberdeen and progress to a winnable semi-final. I expect Aberdeen to come out of the blocks quickly and start the game at a high tempo - it'll be a tough game, but hopefully Killie edge it on the night
Scouser2
Aberdeen NEED to win this one or questions will be asked by fans and shareholders of budget spent and some signings not performing in "big games" We would love to win this one but in a superb season defeat will not lead to any post mortem of our Management or club .. As to the game ---vital again we win the midfield battle and do not leave space for them to exploit ---cant see SC changing much of how we played in the away game or in most games so far --- our counter attacking can hurt teams ----especially if Jones is fit
