Match Recap

It was honours even at Rugby Park as Kilmarnock and Motherwell shared a point during a Premiership bore.

This was a rearranged clash after the original match had been abandoned in midweek due to fog.

A mediocre first half saw Conor McAleny prod wide of the Motherwell goal and Killie goalkeeper Daniel Bachmann save well from Jake Hastie and Gboly Ariyibi efforts

Killie almost snatched the lead on 66 minutes when Rory McKenzie smashed Aaron Tshibola's pass off the crossbar.

Burke then teed up substitute Eamonn Brophy whose shot on the turn on 73 was superbly parried by Gillespie.

However neither side could conjure up a winning goal.

Kilmarnock are still without a win in eight matches whilst Motherwell who have lost just once in their last eight domestic encounters could take some small comfort from the fact that this was the Steelmen's first point against Killie since Steve Clarke took over the Rugby Park managerial reins.

Comments

Alex Dyer: "Quite happy, two teams fighting hard battling. It was a good game, both had chances, two committed sides. A good point for us and a good point for them.

"It's been a tough period since January. We've to train hard and get ready to go again after we come back from our training holiday."
