Player News & Quotes:

Sept 9th 2016: “I got the one knock in the Motherwell game and then I’ve split my head again in training. It’s just a bit of bad luck I think, but, touch wood, hopefully it won’t re-open again. It’ll aid my development playing games week-in, week-out here. You’re playing against senior players instead of development teams and I can only learn from it and get better.

Boyle was just one of a raft of signings from England who parked up at Rugby Park in the summer. Boss Clark has 13 players in his current set-up who have only previously plied their trade down south.

There are a lot of lads in the same boat. You don’t feel like you’re the odd one out. When people are going through the same thing as you it does make it easier. We have a competitive squad, with competition for places all over the pitch, which is always good. Hopefully, we can keep the majority of the lads fit and injury free.

Boyle has already spent time on loan at Kidderminster Harriers, Macclesfield Town and York City, but has found regular starting places hard to come by. The size of the club and the stature was a big thing. The level the team are playing at and the manager played a part as well – there was more than one factor,

The opposition that you’re playing against every week is a good standard. The Rangers game last week are the kind of matches you want to play in. No disrespect to the other teams, but Rangers and Celtic are the two big teams. Rangers brought a lot of fans and filled both ends and made a lot of noise.

The result was great as well and gave us the belief that we can pick up big results – especially after going down to 10 men with half an hour to go. I just want to keep doing the best I can every day in training and in the games. I want to play as many games as possible, keep playing and help the club and team be successful.”

Dec 2nd Oct 2016 on the Dundee Pre-Match: “People wrote us off before the Celtic game, but in the dressing room afterwards, we were disappointed not to have taken a point. We put them under pressure towards the end and could have nicked a point.  This division is ridiculously tight. Back-to-back wins can shoot you up four or five places, and successive defeats can have the opposite effect.  It’s what makes the match against Dundee so important, because they are one of the teams within touching distance.  When you play Celtic it’s the same three points at stake and you still want to go out and win. But that’s like a bonus game, one you are not really expected to get anything from.

“Dundee, though, is one of the bread-and-butter fixtures, one you really need to take something from.  Huddersfield are good at staying in touch. I speak to them regularly and that keeps me on my toes. I’m not 100 per cent sure yet what will happen in January. We have a big month coming up and I’m just taking each game as it comes and concentrating on that.”  - The Scottish Sun, 2nd December 2016, Kenny Millar

Jan 4th 2017: Defender William Boyle (and striker Flo Bojaj) have returned to Huddersfield Town following their loan spells with Killie. The 21 year-old left-sided centre back Boyle started 14 games for the Club in total; 11 in the Scottish Premiership and three in the League Cup. He scored one goal for the East Ayrshire club, which came on his debut in a 2-1 cup win at Clyde.
