  1. "I put it to you John Gall that you are a thieving @rsehole"

  2. John Gall is the type of businessman we should be begging to get involved, instead we're chasing away £640,000 of investment because of one mans ego. It's disgusting what we've become. As fans, we should be ashamed of ourselves. As a customer, I certainly am. Back to Napm for me. MJ and BB can stick their s**tty football, on their s**tty plastic pitch right up their arse.

  3. Which pubs aren't showing it? On the off chance that I go out for a pint I'd much rather go out and watch Leicester and not have to deal with pubs that are full of c**ts.

  4. I know everyone's dying to get this off topic, but why the hell are these adverts still up on the club's official social media feeds? Rhetorical question, cos we know it's someone is too proud to admit he messed up here or doesn't care that his customers are angry about it and that he's made the club a laughing stock on social media and, now I see the Sun are running with a story on this easily avoidable own goal, in the national media. Just get it down, FFS. Whoever has the logins for the accounts, "accidentally" hit the delete post button if you have to, cos it's gone too far now.

  5. Best £1 ever spent and no wonder he has hung on to the gravy train for so long as it just keeps giving?

  6. The problem is that £100k has to be raised by fans putting in cash and sorry but no one trusts Michael Johnson and it will be very hard to do that and convince fans if he is staying. On the other hand if the campaign was to raise money to get rid of MJ I am sure lots of people would be happy to pledge money including me. I will await with interest to see the details of the plan before I finally decide but from what I have been told so far I expect I will be keeping my money.

  7. My brother told me the other day on the phone that JM had agreed the deal and when MJ found out he went ballistic and it was basically the straw that broke the camels back. He said that was the real reason JM resigned as chairman as he didnt want to have to engage in wars with MJ any further. Don't know if its true and I was wondering if you had heard anything.

  8. So one question - why were the trademarks taken out MJ and not the club? This has sod all to do with the club and is all about one man and his wallet. I also concur that Killie is not a name solely attributable to the club, but a larger geographical area, and has fck all chance of standing up in court. It is a ridiculous waste of energy at a time when the whole club and its supporters (fans and business) need to pull in one direction to assist as much as possible out fight to stay in the Premiership. MJ is an utter self serving mungbean, who has presided over a massive clusterf**k for the last umpteen years.

  9. Just to clarify: I agree that the article is nonsense, I was just making fun of Hibs and their repeated Scottish cup embarrassment...

  10. I don't dispute that but putting 100k into the club in the current state will only keep it going for a short time, IMO it'll make little impact into changing the direction of the club and again in my opinion, will only serve to plug a gap for short period of time to make up for the mismanagement of the club on a day to day basis. As for BB, he has shown zero interest in voting against MJ as far as i can see, in fact he is the main reason we're stuck with MJ. It could be argued that if we are just talking purely "hard earned" then the club/assets would be worth more to the majority shareholders without the hassle of having a football club attached to it. I'm not trying to be negative about the proposal, as I am a great advocate of fan ownership. I just feel with the structure of the club, it’s articles of association, the structure of the board and the previous new board members who’ve tried and failed to evoke change, that you quite possibly could be pissing in the wind with this. That said, I’ll take the proposal on face value and will of course contribute if I feel it’s a winnable battle. From what I’ve heard again this week, MJ is going nowhere without a seven figure sum so it’ll take a lot of Trust shares to gain any reasonable power at RP I fear.

  11. The launch will explain all aspects of the situation and show a clear timeline for events. Assuming we are going to progress with the scheme after due diligence takes place then there will be a suitable ramping up from communication to action. This is a big and ambitious plan with people considerably more expert than me in promotion of it having already put in a power or work.

  12. I don't think people realise how far behind Hamilton we are. For 2 teams with roughly the same points per game ratio, for us to make up more than 4 points over 5 games certainly calls for a bit of an upsurge in form. Not impossible but it will take a bit of effort. Hamilton are just as committed to avoiding the playoffs as we are. Look at the Arabs, they have been trying to eat into an 8 point gap since the back end of January with very little effect in real terms. And we have been gash for the whole period.

  13. I think that anguish is not quite the way to look at any horror stories. I'd like to think that communication from the board to the support would be improved. That may mean that there is an understanding of why certain decisions are made and, importantly, done so in clear English. Of course owning 51% of the club is a goal but, as correctly stated, to raise that amount of cash could take a generation. You still have to start somewhere and working with the club and being inside rather than against from the outside will always be far more productive. Indeed, convincing BB to think like a punter is going to be easier if we are sitting in the same environment as him. It's not about 3% of the company having power, it's about having a voice. The day to day running of the club is determined by a one person one vote scenario. Constitutional matters are determined in the manner suggested, but the day to day running of the club is what is paramount here. If a genuine directorship is achieved, and there is a real say in the running of the club then there is an opportunity to work towards stopping these losses and generating revenue etc etc. The problem we see is that you have, in the main, a board comprising of successful and/or knowledgeable business people. They, however, have either been working with teams of specialists around them to advise or have had a bit of luck here and there. None of them, however, have had to work with businesses under this level of stress in a very depressed sector. They are, it can be argued, caught in the headlights. Our position is to offer someone who can add value to them. It will all become clear once the Heads of Terms are signed - next few days - and a launch happens, hopefully in a matter of weeks. Okay, but there is an argument to keep the money and wait for Administration. I'd rather we were being pro-active, however, I see the point. So - club goes into Administration. The Administrator has no obligation to favour a group of supporters with good intentions. Indeed, their obligation is to achieve the best possible deal. There may well be plenty of people, Killie friendly or otherwise, with considerably deeper pockets. We'd possibly be left outside again and need to start all over. But - and here's the biggie - if the club goes into Administration who are the shareholders ? Yup - the existing shareholders and in their present proportions. These are the folk who need to be negotiated with one way or another either during or after the event. Who owned Motherwell after Administration?...the same guy who did before it. Administration is not the answer here. It is a massive problem which may or may not mean we can be Hearts, or for that matter Dunfermline. Liquidation is also not the answer (Rangers or Clydebank?). We want change so lets' try to effect it in an effective manner. Not everyone will agree and, in my opinion, many people are letting their dislike/hate of certain people take over their like/love of Killie. We have put 2 years of work into getting this scheme to where we are because of our like/love of Killie and a desire to make a positive difference. If we have to work with people who have contributed to get us to where we are then so be it. It is about getting us out of this mess and changing attitudes, business models and, most importantly, restoring pride in this club. That takes work - let's get on with it.

  15. It is Michael's fault that we've alienated our support. We are a small club, we need a chairman that stands up for the club and it's supporters, not somebody that can't understand why we would be upset by the Rangers title party fiasco, the cheaper tickets for Celtic deal, the shambolic season-ticket card introduction, the latest early season-ticket deal that is shrouded in secrecy, and opening the sports bar early for an Old Firm game.

  17. I'm only basing my point on this particular issue. Whatever MJ has or hasn't done/said previously, whatever Mr Gall has or hasn't done/said previously is irrelevant to my view on this one development........Unfortunately, judging by a lot of what's on this thread, most of it is: 'MJ is in the wrong here because of previously perceived misdemeanors.'

  18. Agreed, I am all for the fans getting a seat on the board but not at the cost of £100k to keep these clowns going a bit longer and when the club are losing £700k a year will not stop the club running put of money or make any material difference to the decision making or ownership of the club. Keep any money to deal with the administrators and we may have a chance to save the club and gain real control such as Motherwell, Hearts etc.

  19. If the Sports Bar had it's own account and it used it to promote this I'd have no issue. I have no issue with them showing the game, I have no issue with them cashing in on them either. It's the fact that they used that account that's the problem. How long does it take to think these things through? If they were so desperate to promote the early licence then promote it via a Sports Bar account, or even a Park Hotel account. Another thing that's grating is the "arms length sale" of the Sports Bar only seems to benefit one party, and yet again it's completely in detriment to the club.

  20. Kilmarnock's pie war intensified on Wednesday night after the maker of the award-winning snack accused director Michael Johnston of running the club into the ground. John Gall, managing director of Brownings Bakers, is embroiled in a legal battle with the Premiership club over naming rights to the famous delicacy. As Sportsmail first revealed, an application by Brownings to trademark the 'Killie Pie', which the firm has produced for the last 13 years, has been challenged by the Kilmarnock board and their contract has been terminated. A fierce critic of Johnston's decision to sack Kenny Shiels as manager three years ago, Gall believes the move is personal. Claiming he rejected an offer to pay £100,000 to join the Ayrshire club's board because he couldn't sit across a boardroom table from Johnston, Gall told Sportsmail: 'Kilmarnock Football Club cannot prosper or move forward until Michael Johnston is no longer involved. Local business and sponsors have been alienated by his self-serving presence on the board. 'I have put in over £1million to Kilmarnock Football Club. 'In contrast, Michael put in a pound to gain majority control from Jamie Moffat. 'How much has he gained from that pound investment in Kilmarnock FC? 'Michael says Kilmarnock paid me £20,000 a year for products but, because I am a supporter, those products were actually heavily discounted. 'That £20,000 a year to Kilmarnock would have cost any other company £40,000. 'So, yes, I have been making £20,000 in sales to the club. But I'm not making much money out of that, contrary to what Michael seems to believe. 'This is clearly a personal thing now. It has been a personal thing ever since I came out publicly in 2013 and said that the best thing that could happen to Kilmarnock would be for Michael Johnston to leave the club. 'I said then that it was the only way the club could move forward and, while he is no longer chairman, that remains the case.' A lifelong Killie fan, Gall will now sever his ties with the club and attend Galston games instead. 'I told other directors the only way for Kilmarnock to move forward and preserve their top-flight status is for Michael to move on and a chief executive to come in and employ his own specialist team to run the football club the way a football club should be run,' Gall continued. 'I have urged the other directors time and again to sit up and listen to me. I was asked to go on to the board of Kilmarnock Football Club. 'I said: 'Of course I would, I would love to'. 'I said yes, I would pay my £100,000 like the other directors to join the board, but that I couldn't do so as long as Michael Johnston was still on that board. 'The sponsorship for the club last season, if you take away the contributions of QTS and Brownings, was only around £250,000. Local companies who would normally put in £30,000 or £40,000 to support the local football club are putting in a grand or two instead. 'So the club might claim they are still receiving support from local businesses. But it's a fraction of what it should be. 'Be in no doubt, this is affecting the football team. I believe the club will announce a loss in excess of £700,000 at the forthcoming AGM. 'What's happening now is affecting the club's finances and the budget for Lee Clark at a time when the team is battling to preserve their Premiership status.' Kilmarnock took a trademark covering the term 'Killie' in 1998 and allowed Brownings to use the 'Killie Pie' term for a fee. Advised by lawyers that the 'Killie Pie' name was not covered by existing trademarks, however, Gall claims he warned three club directors of his intention to apply for the naming rights after his offer of £540,000 over five years for exclusive catering and sponsorship rights was rejected. A final offer of £120,000 to avoid a messy legal dispute also failed, leaving trademark attorneys to thrash the matter out. 'We will rebrand the pie and sell it as something else until the trademark is settled,' said Gall. 'When I took over the catering contract in 2003, the 'Killie Pie' was nothing. 'I rebranded it and brought it out, then did a lot of PR on it. I didn't know at that stage how much I could build it up to make it the phenomenon it is now. 'We want to keep the name 'Killie Pie'. We will press ahead with our bid to trademark the name in the meantime.' (Daily Mail)

  21. According to STV........ "In the summer of 2015, Brownings opened discussions for an exclusive trademark licence agreement through their solicitors but subsequently, without informing the club," I presume that'll be why the club've terminated the contract. If the club own the trademark name Killie and if someone whom they've had a working relationship with tried to use something of theirs without having the courtesy to inform them of their intentions then I'd be ending the working relationship too. Mr Gall's using emotive language like grudge against him (good luck with that argument in court). If MJ had done something a bit sneaky like STV are implying Mr Gall has, my goodness he'd be lambasted by the 'everything's MJ's fault brigade.' A little objectivity wouldn't go a miss here.

  22. I am very afraid that Millroy56 is bang on the money. Is there another explanation as to why 2 men are showing increasing utter incompentance for running a football club. Sham after sham after sham . No one can be so f**kin stupid as to publicly criticise your own customers, your major sponsors and advertise to the least liked group of bigoted football fans in world football. ( a lol on the same day) Enough is enough.

  24. Will the sports bar get an early licence for the game against Inverness? Why not advertise for that day? A good Week and a half run of advertising every day to try and get people who can't make the game to get to the bar, that the sports bar can be a meeting place for all killie fans who want to watch the game ! Get all killie fans to share or retweet the message to get to the sports bar? Maybe reduce the price of a pint for the day put on snacks etc? But no come all old firm fans to a "killie pub." Pathetic and another kick in the teeth from the club.

  25. I'm struggling to see why the club is picking this fight (other than personal vendettas). The club will continue to sell pies at matches regardless of what they are called, say "Steak Pie". The better they are, the more they will sell. Brownings will sell "KIllie Pies" and the club will get whatever publicity by association they currently get. The new caterers won't be able to sell "KIllie Pies", which will be reflected in the contract price for catering but will it make that much difference? A bigger problem is likely to be that suppliers won't tender for fear of dealing with the bunch of doolally clowns who run the football club. Club in crisis - chairman gone, attendances falling, relegation looming - and all they are worried about is the trademarking of a f**king pie!

  26. I take it you mean "earn" in the loosest possible sense. Can I suggest that "create" is a more appropriate term?

  27. I think that shows you exactly where the priorities of those running the club lie. It's time the support as a whole woke up to the utter shambles that the BoD's at RP is. Absolutely zero interest in trying to rally the support for a crucial home game but they are falling over themselves to invite local old filth fans to line the pockets of the Hotel. No wonder the fans are apathetic.

  28. It's a f**king embarrassment. No tweets at all last week from the club for what was one of our biggest games of the season, yet they use it to advertise a game of no consequence to us being shown in a bar that isn't even ours. No wonder we're rightly getting ripped for it.

  30. I often wonder when is the right time to look at the problems our club has? As I see it; we're not allowed to do it now because we're in the s**t (again), we can't do it in the close season because we've got to give the manager time to build his own team by buying season tickets, we can't do it before Xmas because it'll jeopardise our season, we can't do it after Xmas because it might stop us making the top six, we can't talk about it after that because we don't want to get dragged into a relegation battle, rinse and repeat.
