  4. Why does he not just have a Sportsmans Dinner in Glasgow to make money for any charity he wants? What in the name of the wee man has this got to do with his testimonial for KILMARNOCK? That's my only objection here, he can do what he wants but they are peddling our club name here and as is said previously, charity or not, you get drunk fans of two team that hate each other in the one place at the one time and you are asking for trouble. This is badly thought out at the very best, having a sportsmans dinner in Glasgow is celebrating his testimonial for US is a crock of s**te. I love the big man to bits but the folk organising this for him want shot. If we end up playing the huns for the match they might as well play that in Glasgow as well to get more money for the charity because I sure as hell won't be going to it.

  5. A fit Gordon Greer would be our best defender. He was last season anyway. All four are big losses.

  6. I think there are several factors leading to Clarke’s current difficulties / dilemma. Firstly, he has some loyalty to the squad from last season, he’s stated that publicly and wants to give them a chance and promote some stability in the squad. Secondly, I believe he’ll only look to bring in someone who can improve the squad, with a limited budget he’ll be looking to spend it wisely. No point making a signing for the sake of making a signing – see Lee Clark’s 11 signing in one day, June 2016. He’s a shrewd manager / coach and knows what he wants to achieve and I don’t think he’ll make any rash actions just to appease the masses. I’m sure he has a player or two up his sleeve who he’ll announce in the coming weeks to settle all our nerves [I hope]. I agree Mulumbu is a big loss, but again we were told to enjoy him whilst he’s here - I just think he’s set the bar quite high for others to follow. Week 2 of the season and both old firm teams have dropped points, Hearts are top of the league and Killie are the only SPL team not to concede a goal. Who had that on their coupon…?

  7. Wonder how they're going on both sides. Hope we don't embarrass Sir Steve and the boys. This is a chance to boost the player budget for those wanting some quality signed.

  8. I’m not seeing any youths pushing through towards first team involvement either though. Just now it seems things are stagnant. Would you be happy if Millen is one of the leads on Project Brave and our new youth academy next year? I have serious reservations about it to be honest.

  9. I fully accept that there are cyclists who are tossers out there; but if you think all cyclists should give way to cars at all times then I think the arrogance might be shared between parties. Riding 2 abreast makes it safer for all parties. If a driver can't overtake 2 cyclists safely, they probably couldn't have overtaken them if they were out on their own. Keeping healthy into middle age. Good on them.

  10. Would have thought with BBs excited chatter a few weeks ago, there must be money available. Mind you he was confident of selling over four thousand seasons then, so maybe the Killie public's failure to back us has made him think again

  16. I do mostly try and take every thread/comment on here as a standalone and try to separate the poster from the point being made, but by god man, you make it difficult. How is it possible to be this negative about Kilmarnock at this point? Everything has been taken up a notch from seasons previous. I'm sure we'd've loved it if Iniesta came to the ToP to finish his career, but we need to temper our desire to be satisfied with a sliver of realism. Complaining we haven't signed four first teamers to replace those outgoing by now is just powderpuff nonsense. The first time in YEARS we've had a mostly settled first 11 from season to season and people complain at lack of new signings. Those same people likely tutted furiously when we signed 14 and half right backs a couple of seasons ago.

  17. Actually you are incorrect. To quote from the decision directly: In a report on its inquiry into the Rangers Charity Foundation, published yesterday, the OSCR said the decision to give part of the proceeds of the fundraising event to the football club went against the charity’s trust deed. It said the decision was made by just one of the charity’s three trustees. "The trust deed does not empower individual charity trustees to exercise trustee powers on their own," the report said. As I said previously, I would not give a penny to a charitable organisation that went against its own trust deed and allowed one trustee to make a decision to give funds not to the charitable causes under which they were raised but instead to a football club which was heading for liquidation. Perhaps it's just me but I don't think that qualifies as 'boycotting everything'. I have attended most testimonials for Killie players over the years from Robertson and McCulloch to Hay and Fowler (and there haven't been too many of them) but I won't attend this one. I'll just stay in my mortgage free cave that evening.

  18. As a support and hopefully club that tries desperately hard to state that we are not a little Rangers...what a contrary signal this sends out...tantamount to MJ's non committal at their demise..sorry totally appalled at a joint venture and even more disgusted that the article quoted mentioned our 150 year anniversary. Yes honour the man by all means but as Killie and for a charity not associated to Rangers....if he/they want to honour him by donating to their charity they are free to do so, just as i will gleefully miss any joint venture. I would and could understand and attend a testimonial match between both clubs but would prefer in that case the money going to his own charity or one that is not associated to either club...

  22. A have a feeling that our current squad is what were going to run with. Fed up reading players being touted as potential signings. We have no money to pay fees and were offering a fiver a week in wages for free agents. So it's unlikely anybody will be interested in coming nor will they likely be of the quality we require to improve our squad. I think we're a good outfit but we desperately need a creative midfielder but sadly a can't see anybody joining as there's been not even a sniff of a signing or a rumour even that has any substance to it so getting bit frustrated with this we will bring in players talk as time is ticking on and we have a tough run of games that could make or break our season and effect confidence within our squad so I think we need to strengthen to help us achieve positive results in these games

  30. Jones should be told to attack the full back from the first minute. Knock it past him and get across him. This season he continually turns inside into trouble. His danger is going outside to byline. It would be good to get a player who could play in number ten and put it between centre half and right back for Jones to run onto. I don’t know if he has enough intelligence to make those sort of runs though.

  32. Investment in the club shop. The computers are ancient and the staff themselves were moaning about the speed of it. We make it difficult for people to buy tickets, merchandise etc. Few grand and get some state of the art computers. Then get the online ticketing sorted. E tickets also a good idea. Card payments with Contactless at pie stalls is another easy fix, minimal expenditure to set up, you can run it off a phone if you so wish. For bigger investments, small section of safe standing, bottom right of east stand is free anyway.

  33. Mulumbu, Tsihbola, Greer & Erwin have all gone with only Njoli coming in. If anyone thinks we will do as well as we did last season without adding to the current squad then they are being extremely optimistic. I am sure SC knows we need some additions and surely we have some funds. Still don't undertsand the Mulumbu situation - all the leagues have now started and he is still without a club and therefore a wage. Very surprised he hasn't signed for anyone yet.

  34. Tsihnola no miss for me and greer would get nowhere near our team at the moment. Erwin was good some games not so good others. Mulumbu agreed is a big miss but we won plenty games when he wasn't playing. Agree another couple of signings would be good but either way I'm confident another good season beckons.

  36. ".....Kris Boyd has been granted a testimonial after years of sterling service, during three spells with Kilmarnock FC.….. A Sportsman’s Dinner will be held on Saturday, September 8 2018 at the Crowne Plaza in Glasgow to mark the opening of the testimonial year... Details of the testimonial match will be confirmed in the following weeks." How can anybody say this is nothing to do with KFC? "A dinner will be held....to mark the opening of his testimonial year".

  37. Embarrassment to all Killie fans, all for charity and give at all opportunities but to associate ourselves to those feckin bigot scum arseholes is unforgivable. These are the scum that sing about all the s**te that has feck all do to with our country and get away with it and we’re meant to go in tandem with it. No chance.

  38. Why are everyone’s knickers in a twist. There is no mention of Sevco on the club website. The Sun are running with it as they do to sell papers. If you attend you are donating to Boyd and he’s deciding to split it between causes in the same way as Lewis Stevenson did at Hibs this summer. It’s just Some want to be offended by Boydies choices. It annoys me that some people seem genuinely offended by this but would probably be quite happy if he blew the money. People will benefit from the money whether it be through Killie or Rangers. As for the venue what difference does it make. He held his inaugural charity do at Ayr Racecourse. Maybe just maybe those involved think the Park Hotel is s**te. Plenty on here have that opinion. As has been said if you don’t like the idea don’t donate and don’t go to any game.

  39. I’m far from uncharitable but personally I think it’s a recipe for disaster. I would gladly donate to the charity from Kilmarnock but there is not a chance I would donate to a Rangers charity so if that makes me uncharitable then that’s what I am and proud of it.

  45. If the club wants to honour Boyd by all means do so. If Boyd wants to offer money to a charity connected to Sevco that’s his choice. Whether they get mentioned or not we won’t be able to keep Sevconians away because of who he is. It’s a sad fact of life. If you don’t agree with it then don’t go it’s that simple. I have a problem that it is mentioned in the same breath as our 150th celebrations. Those are a celebration of the club not individual players.

  46. I’ll be going. Guy is a legend. Forget the word ‘Rangers’ in the title of the charity, they do fantastic work in the community and abroad helping many people. Any money that goes to those without vaccinations, clean water or food is fine in my eyes. They also do a lot of work for those with mental health, cancer and children’s hospitals. I applaud anyone who donates their time and money to charitable causes when they could bank it.
