  4. Shocking decision to play Belgium in the season opener from the SFA. Momentum is vital, but arranging games away to Mexico and home to Belgium is well beyond where Scotland are at presently. Fair enough the game was arranged before the WC, but taking on a team that beat England twice over the summer was only going to end one way. 20,000 at the game for a team that finished 3rd at the WC, incredibly poor night. Scotland being very poor and having to play games on a Friday or Monday is really bad news for the SFA's coffers.

  5. I think SSC is more suited to day to day work with players than seeing them every few months. Would rather have kept Strachan than McLeish. He's done nothing for years.

  6. Was at the game and SOD did well when he came on. Killie bias aside he should definately start on Monday night in a back four with 2 upfront.

  7. Fraser doesn't even play on the right for Bournemouth most of the time. McLeish is like something that was extinct even before dinosaurs had been created. None of the starting XI deserved pass-marks. I lost interest after half-time but I saw Naismith scampering around like a wee dug, never getting near the ball. And how the feck does Ryan Jack get capped? He's abysmal by Scottish Premiership standards! The trouble is, that is probably the best we've got.

  8. He should’ve started the game instead of Fraser who isn’t a wingback. But Mcliesh hasn’t a f**kin clue, too busy shoehorning certain players into a team instead of simply telling them there’s someone playing better in their position.

  11. O’Donnell has made a solid start to the season and was terrific last year. He looked comfortable in the summer games too. McLeish opted last night to shoe horn and excellent EPL winger into right wing back. Playing in-form players in their correct position is vital.

  16. McKenzie was picked 22 times by our manager last year and earned a new contract so he's hardly been a bit player under Clarke so far. He's been a regular choice under every manager he's played for so far so I expect that to continue as long as he's free from injury.

  18. Sad to say but as much as I like Mckenzie I’ve yet to see his best position and possibly time for him to move on, Wilson on the other hand I feel we have a serious player on our hands and hope he is played as I think he can play a number of positions I think Cente half is his best but he has to find it , he is for me the best reader of the game I have seen in a long long time

  26. Richard Leonard at FMQ's New figures released today show more than 500 operations were cancelled in July as our hospitals couldn’t cope. As Nicola Sturgeon sets out her programme for government she should reflect on her decade of failure. What he didn't say was that under a Labour controlled Welsh parliament "There have been more than 178,000 operations cancelled in Wales over the last two years". For clarification that is over 7400 operations every month. Guess who Jeremy blames for these figures, the Tories but up here in Scotland it is SNP bad. Yes Mclean it will all be better under Labour.........Not

  27. Strikes me McLeish is going down the picking the best players rather than the best team. That’s never going to end well. Shoe horning people into a team just to accommodate them. Come up with a system that is best for the nation. If that means leaving someone like Tierney or Robertson or Fraser on the bench then so be it. That’s why managers get paid to make the tough calls. Congratulations to SOD though another well deserved reward for his form in the last year or so.

  28. I was at the Germany home match a couple years back and all these drunken guys in kilts in their 50’s are shouting at the Germans outside Hampden “we’re just like ‘yous’, we love beer, we love whores and f**king hate the English”....heavy heavy cringe.

  29. Kind of agree, players are being played out of position to suit their reputation as opposed to playing the right players to suit the system of the team. SOD never started cause he plays for a Diddy team. Congrats to him though, we’ll deserved cap.

  30. Issue for me is that he shoehorns certain clubs players into his teams at the expense of the balance of the national team. SOD played well in the Summer, and gave the side balance. Tonight the ginger twat decides to shoehorn Tierney into a back three, and plays Ryan Fraser as a wing back when he is a winger instead of playing SOD. Guy is a total fud.

  32. Anything in the news about this? Or is it just SNP members who get that? Just think about the differences here. One is related to alledged sexual misconduct with NO CHARGES madness yet, after months of having the information. The other is actually charged and appeared in court of child rape! Tell me again how the media isn't biased with a massive SNP bad agenda?

  34. Something tells me that a player capable of taking and following instructions will always be valued by SSC. I'd expect both to spend more weeks in the matchday 18 than out of the squad altogether. Both are precisely the sort of squad players that win you trophies.

  36. Spot on gdevoy. The system adapts to protect its self. Look at the origins of the Labour Party-working class blokes with backgrounds in trade unions. Policies based around fairness in wealth redistribution , equality, Home rule for Scotland. Policies I’d be quite happy to vote for. Policies distinct from those offered by the Tories. Look at them now -benches full of career politicians from the same oxbridge universities as their Tory counterparts, policies so distinct you couldn’t fit a cigarette paper between them. The system saw Labour as a threat so they were infiltrated and assimilated into the system. Some people still labour (sorry couldn’t resist) under the illusion they’ve got a choice in the direction the country moves, but vote for either party and the outcome is the same; wealth redistribution from the poor to the rich. Only now it’s disguised as defence, health, regaining our sovereignty from the Eu, etc.

  37. I've said many times before. No clubs interested in Scottish national team. More interested in their own clubs survival and take foreigners and young lads from other countries who can't cut in in their own league's. Maybe the SFA should make a ruling that clubs must field home grown talent. Meaning all clubs. I remember a packed hampden in the 70-80s. Home international games brilliant. Sadly now there is very little interest. Apart from your hard core Scotland fans.

  40. Bright Enobakhare is looking forward to his new challenge with Killie following his Deadline Day arrival on loan from Wolves. The Nigerian attacker signed a six-month loan deal from the English Premier League side and Bright is looking to make the most of his time at Rugby Park. "It’s a pleasure to be here. It’s my first day meeting the boys and they’ve all been really good with me so I’m happy to be here. "He [the manager] said people in England think the Scottish league is easy but it is a really tough league and that’s what I’m expecting. "I’ve come here to improve my fitness, help the team and score goals. I don’t want to say too much but the fans will see what I’m like on the pitch. "I’m ready for the challenge." Bright featured in 26 games for Wolves last term as the men from Molineaux won the EFL Championship title and gained a place in the richest league in world football. Reflecting on his part in Wolves' success, the 20-year-old added: "It was really amazing to be at Wolves last season. There are a lot of stars, there’s a good coach and the team works together so it was a pleasure to play with them." Now the Killie fans will be hoping to see just what he's capable of in the blue and white stripes.

  43. I suspect it won’t be ignored. There’s a section of unionists on here who’ll attempt to blame the victim, say they deserve it for being too provocative. Anyone who shows them any kind of support will be labelled a Zoomer. They’ve perfected their victim blaming on Scotland: GERS figures, deficit, etc, etc...Scotland is just too sexy for Westminster to resist exploiting, but they give us money so it’s ok. On Kezia again - does it sit uncomfortably with anyone else, that while leader of Scottish Labour, one of her MSP’s claims she was sexually assaulted by a senior Labour Party member, but didn’t and still doesn’t feel she’d be believed or supported by the Labour Party? Or that the victim was “rewarded” for not rocking the boat with a promotion? Kezia herself claims to be aware of other sexual assaults by Labour Party members and was well aware of the allegations against Alex Rowley (her deputy leader iirc) but in both cases appears to have done nothing... or maybe she did and promoted those women too. What kind of message are Labour sending here? Alleged sexual assault is bad and deserves to be investigated only if it’s done by someone with links to the SNP? It doesn’t matter if a woman’s life gets damaged as long as the party isn’t damaged? Senior Labour members are above the law? Woman can’t be believed? Answers on a postcard...

  47. If they were better players, SC wouldn't have had to loan in players. McKenzie has had a couple of chances to join St Johnstone and elected to stay put so he is unlikely to be complaining. Wilson is just 19 and if he expects to be a first-pick in the first team he is fooling himself. But I doubt that he is. As it happens, I think both will get playing time, maybe more off the bench than starting. Chris Burke can't be expected to maintain his great start indefinitely which will open the door to McKenzie.

  48. A lot of comment by the zoomers regarding wealth redistribution. The Nats are past masters at it, giving to middle Scotland and taking from the poor. Free prescrptions. Poor already had them. Giving to the middle classes, precious NHS resources lost. Free Tuition. Kept for everyone, no matter how wealthy, but cut grants for poorer students and thousands of college places. Council tax freeze. More expensive your property, the more you saved. Meanwhile, services for the poor cut. All kindly funded by the rest of the UK.
