  2. Is this what it’s like on the Chelsea and Man City sites, you know clubs where they weren’t used to any success until recently ????? My god I saw us pumped 3-0 at home to East Fife, at half time. Only Draw with East Strirling, Lose to Cowdenbeath, and knocked out the cup by Stranraer. This site is a depressing place right now with an Awfy lot of folk who have lost the freaking plot. Am away tar Walk the dug, get a beer and look forward to the match the morra. The Killie World has gone bonkers, well the so called fans have.

  3. It’s almost like Aberdeen, Rangers, Celtic have more money than us.... at least though we’ve got something they don’t, Steve Clarke and Alex Dyer! Top boys!

  5. If I'd been writing their media scripts for them: Steve Clarke: "We're very much looking forward to the second half of the season, competing in both the Scottish Cup and league. It has been a magnificent season so far, we as a team can't thank the fans enough for their incredible backing, and very much hope to repay that in the rest of the season. While we won't discuss targets openly, fans can rest assured that we will make sure every single player gives their all for them. Jordan realises that he made a mistake in his online comments about his future move to another club, we were disappointed in it, and have made it clear that we don't expect anything like that to happen again because we don't want to distract from the hard work that the team has put in this season. We are working on a number of signing options, and while we have no news today, fans can be assured that we are exploring as many options as possible." Jordan Jones: "I would like to thank the manager for giving me this opportunity to apologise unreservedly to the Kilmarnock fans, and the Kilmarnock family as a whole. In retrospect it was a mistake to tweet about a future move at this stage of the season, and can fully understand fans' disappointment. I promise to work harder than ever to repay their faith in me and to build on a great season. I've had a wonderful time here, it is a great club and I am full of nothing but gratitude to the management team, fans and everyone else at the club. I want to thank them all for the honour of playing here, you'll always have a place in my heart, and you can be assured that I have learned from my mistake." It's not difficult.

  7. To boo or not to boo, that is the question.......well, sorry but it’s a ridiculous question. What good does booing one of your own player do? It doesn’t help the player in question. In fact it will detract from his performance. In turn, it will spread to other players ( to a greater or lesser extent). It will reduce the chances of the team winning. At what level can that be acceptable to a true Kilmarnock fan? Damaging our teams chance of success for some form of self therapy. We have booed in the past due to a succession of dross performances. That was done in the knowledge that things couldnt get worse and it was the collective scream for change. We don’t want change now. We want exactly the same. Game after game. Point after point. Until we have something tangible to show at the end of the season. As killie fans we were naturally hurt by jj apparent contempt for our club. That won’t go away. He has lost the genuine fondness that many of us had for him. I doubt if any goal he scores for us will be greeted with the same enthusiasm as before. Totally understandable. But active booing is different. RIP up your calendars and stick pins in your mocked up action man dolls by all means. But in public, at the games, it’s time to rise above his naive, juvenile actions on social media. Our team need us more than ever. We are on the brink of something special. Back the manager. He has earned all of your support, without question.

  8. Would anyone swap where we are now, even with the Jan window thus far, to return to the Locke, Johnston, or Lee Clark era ??????? Wise up and back the team, (you can make your own minds up about JJ).

  10. At least if we went back to the Lee Clark era we'd have 43 new signings to talk about, and we'd be wondering how to accomodate the 36 of those that were right backs......

  11. Jones is thick as s**t, he's a wee hun rat and i'll not cheer him, even if he scores. I'll not boo out of respect for Clarke but hope somebody goes right through him. He was asked on a podcast type thing the other month what his job would be if he wasn't a footballer and he laughed replying "something illegal". Think that gives you an insight into him, his family and his hangers on. Wasn't that long ago he narrowly missed jailtime for being a s**tebag scumbag. Sooner he f**ks off to Ibrox the better.

  12. I never realised that footballers were such sensitive souls that we should be worrried about. Don’t boo their pal, they’ll get sad and not play! Even though everyone can see their pal is an ingrate wee prick.

  13. Since she's come in, the club has changed beyond recognition in a good way. You only ever moan about her on here. Give her some credit rather than blame her for everything that goes wrong.

  14. Scunnered with all this. Too much to ask to have a bit of success. Bad enough losing players but to teams who sandwich us in the league it's unacceptable. No wonder folk support big teams, modern fitba is pish.

  15. Surely we can’t deny this is a wake up call though? One thing losing a player to rangers or Celtic. But we can’t even hold a guy whose been on loan to us who chooses to go back to a team where he has failed. I’m all for positivity but come on, this is an absolute ball breaker. The most gifted footballer that’s been at rugby park since eremenko at Aberdeen. I’ll keep open minded till end of the window but even ssc needs to work miracles to get us close to the pre split squad strength.

  18. Stewart was holding all the cards. Birmingham could not force him to sign for Aberdeen. We wanted him. He’s chosen Aberdeen over us so apart from the absence of an inflammatory tweet, he’s in jj bracket for me.

  23. He hadn’t kicked a ball last season when he arrived in November, didn’t stop him being a beast for us. And who can blame him at his age for chasing the best contract he could? It’s only because it was one of the Glasgow two that upset us as Killie fans. We could go back to 4-5-1 if he came back.
    5 points
  24. Nae belief. Typical attitude of folk doubting the club at every turn SC said that we would be in the mix money wise and we made an offer for him. The fact he made that choice doesn’t mean we’ve ‘nae ambition or nae money’.

  25. For the most part, clubs are getting a player they couldn't otherwise afford, transfer fee and/or wages. That comes with risk that the parent club will want him back, or another club will come in and sign him. People should forget the notion that the player is ours. Personally, I think we have been over-reliant on the loan market ever since Clark arrived. People who say that loan players hold back our own youngsters might well have a point. Perhaps we wouldn't be as successful on the pitch but we might have a fighting chance of producing some talent we can sell on.

  26. f**k up. You're crying because Steve Clarke hasn't told you his targets? Get a grip. From what I've been told, we matched Aberdeen's offer and GS choose Aberdeen. No reason to doubt the source or whether it's untrue. I trust SC 100%. f**king drama queen.

  29. The work Steve Clarke has done for our club is absolutely incredible and I consider myself a huge fan of his. That said I think he's got this one wrong. Listening to him it kind of feels like it's our fault for being outraged. Having got over it now and to be honest not even being that bothered about JJ going to Rangers (Greg Stewart departure totally eclipsed that of JJ for me) I still think what JJ did was wrong and completely disrespectful to the people who have funded his lifestyle for nearly 3 years and who played a massive part in him resurrecting a career that was on the skids big time. If he is the big Rangers man he claims to be, he would know the impact of writing s**te like WATP on his twitter feed would have on fans of other clubs, particularly the ones of the club who employ him. It isn't hard to come out and apologise for what happened, delete the tweets (you already got the reaction you craved from the pond life) that were made and big up your desire to end you Killie career on a high on your social media feed BUT he has done none of this, it's all our fault for having the audacity to be outraged. That said, I think booing him is utterly pointless and I personally wont be engaging in it. I will support the team as I always do.

  31. Stewart had a fantastic half season for us. It would be great to have had him longer but I don’t want us breaking the bank for anyone at the moment though. I’m guessing £3k a week if we did offer that is a fair chunk more than our current top earner will be on. Let’s not forget we are still finding our feet again as a club. Being where we are at the moment is an absolute dream but it’s ahead of schedule. SSC and the board have acknowledged that. We can’t afford to go out and offer silly money at the moment. Continue as we have on and off the park in the last 18months or so then we will someday. Let’s not try to run before we can walk.

  34. The perils of success eh? We arent used to half our team being linked elsewhere, it comes with the territory. We are 1 point off top spot, have the core of a great squad and a fantastic management team who i trust implicitly to make the necessary adjustments to ensure we keep it going.

  35. Have we suddenly got fans who have only supported our club in the past year? --and not been here in the true dark days ? or probably not engaged brain before posting on these forums seen posts and terms like "disaster" , "the end of our run" , "might have to settle for 6th now" -- and total panicking over not signing a player ..........its getting totally OTT ---- the squad and Management have given us the best year or so for a long time ---- lets keep backing them and be a little more patient

  36. Alan Power reckons Alex Dyer is huge for Kilmarnock and insists he is the glue that keeps the club together. The Irish midfield maestro believes that assistant manager Dyer has been just as crucial as gaffer Steve Clarke in reviving the Rugby Park club’s fortunes. Dyer, who played for a whole host of clubs including Blackpool, Hull City and Crystal Palace, worked with the development squad at West Ham United when Clarke was assistant to Gianfranco Zola. Clarke drafted Dyer in when he was appointed as Killie boss last October, since saying they are perfect for each other as a management team. And Power – who has been visiting family in Dublin and down south during the Premiership’s winter break – told the Kilmarnock Standard: “Alex is the glue between everything, including the manager and the players. You need someone like him at every club. “He is a man you can go to with anything, you can have a laugh with him and you can have a serious chat if you want. “He has played a massive part, along with the gaffer, in setting us up. “Steve and Alex share a lot of the workload but Alex certainly plays a key role both tactically and technically. “So, they bounce well off each other, and it’s a good combination.” And Power thinks just as highly of boss Clarke. The 30-year-old said: “There are a lot of the same players here from when he joined, just a couple of additions. “But I suppose the way we are set up now and the way we are playing is putting us in good stead as we are confident and hard to beat. “It’s fantastic working under him, he sets us up well and we each know our jobs. “He gives us the freedom to play as well, so everything is positive – the table doesn’t lie. “Simplicity is the key to his coaching and everyone knows what’s expected of them. “The morale of the team is great and we all work really hard for each other.” Killie finished top of the 2018 calendar year table – and Power reckons that is important for the team’s confidence. Although he isn’t getting carried away, Power insists it shows where the club is now. “It’s good that we are getting plaudits from the 2018 season but for us we don’t think about it too much,” he said. “We have a job on our hands to continue and do what we were doing. “It felt great finishing top of the table for the year. It shows how hard we have worked. “But the important thing for us now is to keep on pushing and see how many points we can end up with. “For a club like us it’s just a case of taking each game as it comes. “We can have little talks behind closed doors about aspirations but as the games come we just take them one by one. “It’s great for fans to believe and dream, which they should be doing but as a team we take each game separately.” Next up for Power and Killie is a home tie against League One Forfar Athletic on Saturd in the fourth round of the William Hill Scottish Cup. Once the clash with the Loons is out of the way, Clarke’s men are thrown back into the deep end of the Premiership with the visit of Steven Gerrard’s Rangers at Rugby Park three days before a trip to Aberdeen. However, Power is relishing the mouthwatering fixture list. He said: “I don’t mind that. It’s good having these games to go straight back into as it gets you focused straight away. “The way I see it is that it’s also tough games for them, so they’ll be thinking the same thing as us. “I wouldn’t say these two games are season-defining, they will be hard games, but ones that we will be going in to try and win. “If we want to stay at the top end of the table we need to fight and do well in these games.” https://www.dailyrecord.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/kilmarnock-star-alan-power-who-13871203

  37. Not true. 2017 FM I done the Killie team... it was guess work. Do you honestly think there was a spreadsheet sent to me with salaries and bonus on it? I struggled to get any info from the club at the time relating to names of backroom staff. It’s a group of guys on a Facebook group with an excel spreadsheet trying to be as realistic as they can. In the new FM Bowie is Chairman... go figure!

  41. Definitely a kick in the haw maws. Never even considered Aberdeen as being an option due to his last spell there. Thankfully McInnes has a knack for making good players worse and with GMS possibly on route out, it wouldn’t surprise me if Stewart was pushed out wide again. I’m not going to start panicking, but there has been some superb players move to “top six” clubs recently. Even Motherwell brought in McCormack, MOH at Saints, Hibs with Gauld and likely Allan this window... it does feel like we have stood still a little. Personally I don’t want to see any more loan signings unless it’s someone special. Too many completely “meh” players have joined on loan over the past few years. We now need a deep lying forward who can unlock defences and score goals... that’s not going to be easy to find, or we move back to five in the middle. Either way, we desperately need to improve and soon!

  45. That would just put us where we were in December, except that Jones is now half in/half out and we know that Broadfoot has ongoing problems from his concussion. The squad was already thin before the window opened, having lost Byrne and Enobakhare. It would be fantastic to secure Stewart permanently, but we will need a bit more than that to call it a fantastic window for me.

  46. Having had time to reflect after a period of sheer rage. I am gonna choose to not acknowledge his existence. He has disrespected me and all our fans and club with his tweet. I will not forgive him for saying those things and throwing our season up in the air but I will choose to totally forget about him. Even if he is playing despite my utter hatred of that idea. He will if selected will hopefully help the team I love finish high in the league in the best season I have had following killie. The fact we are one point off the top of the league has been overshadowed by a man/boy who isn't the brightest and who has no class. He has been spoken about to death by me and many others on these pages and unfortunately we have no real say. The only thing we can do is back the club we love and hope they can continue to perform at the incredible standard they have so far this season. Rangers, Jordan Jones , his stupid agent or any Huns don't matter. This is a special time at our club and they aren't going to derail our season with this pish Get those Huns absolutely leathered next Wednesday! Back the team with men like Power who go to war for us every week and are passionate about being a killie player.

  47. I don't think SSC really gives a stuff what some silly wee boy tweets on social meeja and I am pretty confident he is only too aware of peoples opinions who have followed the club through thin and thinner. He comes from the local area and I'm sure he is aware. What he is saying to me is that voicing those opinions can only do one thing, that is, damage the club and that is something he is determined to prevent. Hence his "human shield" impersonation. It is disappointing but this s**t happens in football. As posted above Jones will get his reward sitting on the bench next season.

  48. Do you know what, I hate being told it's time to 'draw a line under' something because someone else has decided it's time to do so. Much as I hate being told that it's somehow not legitimate to voice my pleasure/displeasure just because someone else doesn't agree with me. So I'll make my own mind up about those things, I don't require a football manager or anyone else to dictate my thoughts for me, I'll listen carefully, consider, and come to my own conclusions. So here's the thing - Kilmarnock, Steve Clarke and Jordan Jones have had weeks to think about this and to do it properly. They've had weeks to script a proper apology for f**king up, and weeks to write something sincere about his time at Kilmarnock. Instead, they orchestrate a love-in, have a bit of a laugh and place the blame firmly at the door of Kilmarnock fans who are justifiably a bit annoyed. This legitimises Jones' behaviour. It's disingenuous at best from Clarke to try to block fans from voicing their displeasure. No, Steve, fans who boo Jones (which they have every right to do) are not booing you, and it's utterly wrong to try to pass the buck onto them in the way that you have. They're booing a Kilmarnock employee who opted to go full Rangers in public at a time when we're one point behind them and play them in our next league game. He created the issue; he created disharmony where there was none; he created questions about his own professionalism. And you've addressed none of that. So if you think it's reasonable to say ""If fans boo Jordan, then they're booing me as well because, if I select Jordan, then they're criticising my selection," then I think it's equally reasonable to say "If you select Jones, you're ignoring legitimate fan concerns, and criticising their right to a reasonably-held opinion on the matter".
