  2. Doolan isn't now never was and never will be in the league of kris Boyd

  3. Lets be realistic, Partick are looking at Boyd to replace Doolan. Big Boydy even though hes been a great servant to the club, hes been mince this season and looks past the quality required for a top 4 team team in Scotland. So for us to replace Boydy with Doolan is laughable, as his quality will be more suited at Morton or at the most Hamilton. Time to look at youth players at Man Utd, Liverpool or Chelsea and this is the market we should improve the team for our European adventures next season.

  5. You worked for a bank (or 2), and like me, you will know fine well the problems they virtually always encountered with new technology, despite alleged testing before implementation. Killie at least arranged a session to address issues fans may have had like any sensible company would do. Give the club a break - I would far rather the club tried to upgrade their systems and processes, and while there are going to be issues along the way, it is better they do so than do nothing to progress.

  6. Not really. It’s been a shambles for years and if we employ a specialist company I would expect a professional service. It’s as simple as that. The art of sales is making it easy for people to buy. We are doing the complete opposite. I want the best for the club.

  8. Agreed. However he was a good wee striker and more often than not tended to score against us. To spend 10 years at one club is rare these days, so respect to the bloke.

  9. I’ve been deliberately avoiding this part of the forum since the Hearts game. One of my best games of the season was followed by dread about how people would react on here. I knew some people would go overboard and consider 3rd place sown up already and i’m a “don’t jinx it kinda guy”. What I wasn’t expecting was infighting about something that doesn’t matter for months. We’ll have plenty of time to fight amongst ourselves over the summer. Let’s come together for two games.

  10. 6647 miles for me but I'll be there. Shame to say it but it's my first game under the SC reign but back for these last two of the season. Rather tight flight schedule though so praying its on time and glad I'll be able to get a few pre march bevvies in during the 20+ hour journey BTW - do they shut the gates at RP these days anytime after kick off?

  11. Can we stop trying to jinx it??? Lets celebrate when we have it confirmed.

  12. Well Hearts are total sewerage and excepting some miracle I really canny see Ceptic having any trouble in the Cup final. As for The Sheep, McInnes is clearly the lovechild of some high heid yin at the SFA as Lewis escapes a stonewall red card for taking out a Jambo a he was about to score.

  15. Remember their original idea for Brexit was and I quote "Empire mkII" and they were flabbergasted when the world laughed at them and were appalled kn equal measure. Utter clownshoes who hark back to the good old days when we could leave our doors open without fear of burglary and invade other nations stealing their natural resources and bringing famine down on them in return for some civilisation and cricket. f**king despise the British elite and their superiority complex.

  18. I'd definitely keep him. Yes hes not as mobile any more and goals are harder to come by but it's easy to underestimate the value of an experienced old head like that around the club. Younger players coming through will look up to him. Current players will still learn from him and I'd imagine his banter around the dressing room makes coming in to work more fun. More importantly I think his experience when the team are going through a rough patch will keep spirits up and likewise keep a level head on the team when on a good run. Even if he barely plays next season I still think hes worth another year.

  19. They would normally be tested before launching it, I would have assumed. I also assume they have implemented systems prior to this one.

  22. Honestly thought he’d hang his boots up this summer. I'm not sure he’s got a full season in him. Saying his body feels fine is all well and good but he hasn’t worked it as hard as he did last season. I think SSC would give him another year. This chat about deserving a coaching role has a bit of bulls**t about it. The guy is a legend IMO but it’s not jobs for the boys. If he’s a good coach(SSC will know) then by all means try and keep him involved. We don’t want to give people jobs out of blind loyalty we want to build a decent infrastructure.

  24. It’s regrettable that Rangers won’t do the decent and dignified thing. It shows that any claims by the club to be stamping out sectarianism are just lip-service. An ideal opportunity to take a step in the right direction wasted.

  28. Just back from my daughters teams end of season awards night. She plays for Stewarton Annick and Chris Burke was there handing out the medals and meeting the players etc. He was an absolute gentleman and such a great ambassador for the club. Spoke very positively about Killie and the local community. Top man to represent our club and what a difference in community engagement compared to just a few years ago.

  33. Sent an e:mail to the club this afternoon. Got a swift response, with a code, from Michelle and had the renewal completed all within about half an hour. Seems that not everything is broken.

  34. Farage's backers are extreme right wing former Tories, in both his Brexit party and UKIP guises. They poured money into UKIP, putting pressure on the actual Tory party to lurch to right, which it's obviously now done. These punters were unable to change the Tory party from within, so leeched extreme right wing Tory voters to their Hard Brexit, anti EU,Pro City of London as offshore Tax Haven cause. Took a few Labour voters in the impoverished former industrial northern heartlands with em too - very similar to Trump in the rust belt - hence overlap in Cambridge analytical scandal, Panama papers, Trump and Brexit campaigns. Should Farage get a result in the Euro elections, the Tories will have to respond with more right wing policies, maybe even BJ as leader at next GE - we know Farage parties get f. all at GE's. IT's why Anna Soubry and others left for the Independent Group, claiming the Tory party had been hijacked. Farage isn't really a traditional politician, a bit like Trump. Farage is more of a modern influencer. A skilled operator. But his platforms not youtube, just a disproportionate amount of appearances on BBC Question Time.

  37. Folk getting their knickers in a twist over nothing. You have until the end of May to keep your seat if you're renewing. The same amount of time to buy at the early bird rate. 3 weeks. In that time there are 2 home games to go down to club and get your ticket. I think the club should try and organise another session for season tickets before/after the game when majority of our fans will be in the area anyway. For all the folk moaning about not getting through to the hotline, do you think they have 30 operators answering phones all day for Kilmarnock. Just phone back at another time. It can be a good thing if the hotline is busy, shows folk are buying tickets.

  38. Good read! I've already posted this in the You'll Never Take the Killie sub-forum but I recently started a blog on my visits to various European football grounds. My latest post was on my trip to see Kaiserslautern at the end of last July: https://alasdairmaddensroadtonowhere.sport.blog/2019/05/07/1-fc-kaiserslautern-v-1860-munchen-28-july-2018/. As you say, every little helps.

  41. Suppose the crowds are going up, the team are playing well and we had one of the best away days in my lifetime at the weekend, so you need to find something to moan about constantly. Can't wait until we get into the Europa and you're moaning about the price of the charter flight.

  44. surely Club should put out some more information about the issues encountered already by some fans renewing likes of family or the U16 ticket ? there will be many who may go into the shop pre game on Saturday thinking all they have to do is present this season's ST card and all will be fine

  45. This rant looks like it came straight out of the Brextremist Big Playbook Of Vagueness. What you talking about anyway here Tim? I pay my taxes, probably more than most, so what do I get for free exactly? And how do I get someone else to pay for it? That sounds great! Perhaps you could expand on this... I would wager you've been listening to mysteriously funded think tanks and lobby groups, who curiously ALL reside at 55 Tufton Street and all the while not telling you who's paying for them, dedicating huge amounts of effort and energy to mocking things that make our children and vulnerable people happier and healthier, poo-pooing things like the "nanny state" and dedicating time to promote the idea that the richest businesses and individuals should be paying less tax. You also have politicians and commentators virtually admitting they want to go back to a Victorian style model where there was is no safety net for folk that fall on hard times. "Free at the point of use" is the model I think you were talking about, maybe read up on it a bit more... as I've said often, Tories know the price of everything and the value of nothing! I would say the dafties are the folk who are happy to pay twice or more for the same things... Yourself and "reasons" (sic) have never exactly been bedfellows, eh Tim?

  46. I personally think it’s pretty sad how it’s turned out with JJ - he should’ve been getting a proper send off after the last game but I’m guessing he’ll just disappear now. Unfortunately he only has himself to blame. He’s been my daughters first proper favourite player since I started taking her to RP and we met him a few times with him being a very nice fella but his behaviour after he signed for Rangers was completely unacceptable and destroyed his relationship with us.

  47. He was initially cut some slack, if only because Sunderland have been uniformly awful and he at least arrested the decline. When a club suffers consecutive relegations, even mid table mediocrity seems like an improvement. However that pragmatism has disappeared as Sunderland pretty much capitulated in the crucial last weeks of the season. I was at the 4-5 loss to Coventry and was staggered by the incredibly weak defending on both sides, but especially Sunderland’s central defensive pairing. Enobakhare ran riot in the first half before losing interest, but each time Coventry crossed halfway there was a goal or a chance created. Only Lewis Morgan played well for Sunderland and Will Grigg has been a costly mistake. He looked uninterested or desperately unhappy and didn’t even bother to celebrate his goal. Incidentally Coventry were captained by none other than Liam Kelly, but given the abundance of goal scoring opportunities neither midfield offered their defenders much protection. Either by budgetary constraint or overestimating their talent, Ross’s player recruitment has been poor. McGeoch in particular has underwhelmed and they have no reliable striker. Josh Maja left in January and he’s still their top scorer. They are heavily reliant on McGeady for creativity and struggle noticeably when he doesn’t play. In fact so reliant that Ross effectively rested him ( and a couple of others) for the final two league games of the season, so that he’d be fresher for the play offs. Sunderland lost both of those games (Fleetwood and Southend) and instead of facing Doncaster in the play offs had they won, they now face Pompey to whom they have lost twice already. It will take a dramatic upturn in performances to get through the play offs and it will be interesting to see Jack Ross’s fate should they fail. They badly need some board and managerial stability but can ill afford to linger long in the third tier. The crowds have been fantastic ( over 36000 the day we were there and selling out away allocations all over the country) Whether another season in League One will see a downturn in fan numbers, and an impact on revenue, remains to be seen. There is another big question of course. If they do indeed fail to go up through the play offs this month, will Netflix hang around for season 3?
