  2. Don't think this is the time to have a go at him, it was well discussed at the time. The guy has stood up to a terminal illness stoically, the Dundee game seems insignificant now.

  4. Don’t understand why you would assume that. Every child who entered the competition had their design fully considered by a judging panel. In fact, (maybe letting the squirrel out the bag here...), such were the quality of entries that the chosen design was an amalgamation of several great ideas. We might even be talking about MORE than one design winner.

  9. I’m not one of those people who think Bojo & Co are a bunch of incompetents. I believe this outcome has been stage managed from day one. And the reason it’s been staged managed is because the people charged with securing a brexit deal want something completely different from the people who voted to leave. Your average leaver was worried about “bloody foreigners” coming over here, stealing our jobs, driving down wages, clogging up the NHS, overcrowding our schools, driving up housing prices so British kids couldn’t get their foot on the housing ladder. They wanted borders. They wanted restrictions on who could come here. They wanted all the money we send to Brussels spent on helping eliminate these problems. Your average Tory is pragmatic about borders. They’re fantastic for a bit of flag waving jingoism, but they like that freedom of movement allows them to drive down wages and blame this on someone else. They like unfettered access to the worlds largest trading block, but they don’t like the rules that come with membership. They want to pare back workers rights. They want to drive down pensions. They want to eliminate as much of the social contract the Eu was building as possible. They like a lax tax system. They want to destroy the devolved parliaments. The game they’re playing is to get as much of the things they want, while convincing leave voters this is the best they can get, and that it’s everyone else’s fault.

  10. I don't think the Bachmann comparison is fair. I doubt we'll see a keeper as good as him again for a long time. Big Larry is doing a fine job in his own right.

  13. I have B12 deficiency (pernicious anemia). Unfortunately my stomach lining no longer absorbs B12 from animal products. I could eat a whole cow it still wouldn't matter. I have a B12 injection (Hydroxocobalamin) every 3 months, in fact going for one this afternoon. If anybody is thinking of going Vegan please try out the B12 supplements or nutritional yeast that LROY mentioned. you will feel like s**t if you don't.

  14. I think Nutz is brilliant and my three year old grandson thinks so too. Won't go to bed without the Nutz cuddly toy which winds up his dad who supports Celtic. It's a shame we no longer have it in the shop, instead we have a Killie bear soft toy. Can't see any soft toys in the online store, maybe waiting until the new mascot is decided.

  17. Bachman is without doubt the best goalkeeper I have ever seen it a killie shirt and will take a lot to beat that! But the big man is part of a team that other than at Parkhead only his own team mate has scored past him since Bruce, Del Fabro and Findlay have been our 3 defenders of choice. (In other words no broadfoot). Nothing but praise for the big man!

  20. How tasty are the vegan sweet potato lentil and korma pies at Rugby Park? They are a bit squidgy to eat but well worth it. I had resolved to eat more sweet potato this year, so thank you Killie for enabling me to up my quota at the football.

  21. As part of our continued partnership with The Killie Trust, Kilmarnock Football Club can announce that a Foodbank Collection will be held ahead of our home match with St Mirren on Saturday, October 26. Leaflets raising awareness of this much-needed collection will be distributed around Rugby Park ahead of this weekend’s clash with Livingston. Donations will be gratefully received at stalls near the Chadwick and Moffat stands prior to kick off on October 26. Lesley-Ann Adair from our local Foodbank told us – “In the past year, we have provided much needed food to over 6,000 people, including 2,000 children and we’re now distributing over six and a half tonnes of food every month. “Currently, donations range between three-four tonnes which means we are face with a severe shortage of food and without the generous support of our local community, the foodbank is at risk of closing. “We’re extremely grateful to the Club for working with us once again and the generosity of Killie fans last season was overwhelming. A massive thank you to anyone who chooses to donate.” A typical food parcel includes breakfast cereals, soup, pasta, pasta sauce, rice, tinned beans, tinned meat, tinned vegetables and fruit, sugar, biscuits, tea, coffee and snacks. Currently local stocks are particularly low in tinned fruit, tinned meat, UHT milk, breakfast cereals and tea bags.

  29. Sorry to hear of someone passing away at such a relatively young age and feel for his family given it was from a prolonged illness. (Takes large breath). However he has overseen the promotion/ fast tracking of some of the worst referees I have ever seen in nearly 50 years of watching Scottish football. I think its fair to say his time in charge wasn't very successful.

  30. So here we are again, Government policy is apparently to look for another extension. The ditch he was going to die in has gone the same way as the bulldozers he was going to lie in front of to stop the new Heathrow runway. Has anybody noticed the roundabout we are on here. 1) NI cannot come out of the Single Market / Customs Union without Binning the GFA. 2) The DUP will only vote for something that keeps NI in the same status as the rest of the UK 3) The ERG will not vote for anything that keeps "England" in Single Market / Customs Union May spent two years running round this circle trying to force some compromise. she failed. BoJo has basically just moved round to where May was two years ago by dumping the DIP to get the ERG onside. I have a, some might say radical, solution to propose here. Why not let Wales and Scotland stay in the Single Market / Customs Union? That way, the uK is outside the EU, NI has the same status as other parts of the UK and the SNP and Welsh Labour get what they want. If your argument against this is that it is "impractical", BoJo says it will be a dawdle for NI so where is the problem?

  31. IF QPR are genuinely looking at Hickey then maybe Niko already knows he's being released at QPR. It's been a while since we made a loan signing permanent and I'm starting to think it must be increasingly difficult to deal with English clubs just with the sheer financial power they have, He'd be a great permanent addition if it was remotely possible.

  32. Yesterday's episode is "How has Angelo Alessio turned things around at Kilmarnock", worth a listen. It's an odd podcast, they have all the stats but sometimes come across like they don't watch an awful lot of the football that they're talking about. Most of the stats just confirm what we've been watching. Interesting discussion points below; - Del Fabro's og ended a run of 857 minutes conceding only to Celtic. - Niko has better defensive stats than Taylor last season but not contributing the same going forward. - Stats would suggest SOD is playing better than most realise. - El Makrini is the no 1 winner of defensive duels in the league. - Millar is one of the best direct dribblers in the league. - We're probably too reliant on Burke for creativity. - Our defence is "astounding" but we need to score more. SOD being top scorer being the main alarming stat. All in all, we have developed a solid base that needs to be added to in January.

  35. It would be interesting to know why he still votes Labour. He says he is a left of centre minded individual , but voted Labour when Blair took the party to the right of centre to win an election as it was evident it was their only way to beat the Blue Tories, but he still votes for them even though he is not an admirer of Corbyn, Is it the person he doesn’t like or is it his policies? Is Corbyn too left wing for McLean ? So he doesn’t like the Blue Tories, he doesn’t like the current Labour leader or his style (or views?) so how would he like Scotland to progress in the future if not under either of those two models? He hates SNP with a passion, or does he just do it because his own party are out of contention and he likes to rile folk as his only pleasure in life. What if Scotland could move forward with a more left of centre government separate from the rest of the UK, made up of like minded politicians from all parties, would that be palatable or does he just hate the idea of Scotland running its own affairs that he would rather continue ad infinitum under the greed mongers of the Elton toffs, Because that’s what we are going to get for the foreseeable future if you continue to support the Union Jack. A new poll suggests the Tories in Scotland will lose all seats to SNP and none to Labour, and I see Ian Murray is possibly to be deselected by Unite, their most successful MP in the last few years. Is that because he is in “the right wing clique” of the Labour Party as a fellow member described him. Perhaps that’s why he has been successful in Edinburgh South when you look at the history of MP’s.

  40. Often when we are in containing mode, Nico is one of our best attacking threats, he attacks with pace, often coming inside as well, rather than just heading for the by line. He's athletic and plays with confidence. Really happy with his signing. Better than Taylor, certainly has that potential.

  42. Agreed, for a big guy he doesn't command the box well at all. Good shot stopper but I think the clean sheet record is more to do with those in front of him than the keeper himself. He's a decent keeper but get the fear anytime a ball goes near 6 yard box.

  44. The main reports intimating he was a dud were on here. The fact he had only played twice in the past year, how could AA have possibly scouted him, was a complete unknown etc etc.... He’s done very well since he came in and this weekend we get the benefit of agreeing to send Waters out on loan - he’s been a constant in a pretty decent St Mirren defence and now can’t play against us (nice to have a big team mentality for a while) Agree last Saturday was not the best performance he’s had but still worked to deliver a result. I would like to see us offer him a contract if possible.

  45. Worth making an offer for him in January? Out of contract in the summer, which might suggest he doesn't have a future at QPR.

  46. Supposedly Angelo knew him from scouting previously when he was assistant at Chelsea, that's what Niko said in his first interview when he came here. He's slotted in very well, gets forward a lot more than Taylor did imo

  48. Why would you change a system that's working so you can try and shoehorn Burke into a position he has never played? If anything going without a natural striker to bring in a third centre back is less likely to lead to goals. Also, Millar from the left has been our main attacking thread. Would be daft to take that from our system when we have little other obvious pace in the side.
