  1. Very harsh to single out the manager for the Nomads defeat a couple of weeks into the job. By that token Steve Clarke was as much to blame for leaving us in the lurch.

  2. To blame Alessio for CQN is just hilarious, people act as if he played a 1-0-9 or something. Both goals conceded we had the same shape we've had in every game. Every defender back, McKenzie tracking back, defence let a free header in. Second one, again every defender back and Findlay gets beat by a clearance, also missed multiple chances at 0-0, that's on the players.

  3. An outstanding start to the season by AA and the players. By rights we should have had a post Stevie Clarke dip but to be third after ten games is incredible.

  4. There are never queues for ordinary games, so people would be right to talk like that. Has anyone ever heard of giving the customers (or a section of them) what they want, instead of railroading them down the suppliers favoured route. It’s called “meeting customer needs”. The current policy reeks of the MJ “they know where we are” attitude. Far to many people dismissive of supporters concerns.

  5. Great to hear that one of my boyhood heroes has been inducted into the Scottish Football Hall of Fame. Wee Tam scored 48 goals for Killie in 216 appearances. Who knows how many assists he had during his seven years at Rugby Park but it must have been over 100 as he was the best deliverer of a dead ball that I have ever seen. Of lesser note is that another Killie player was inducted at the same time. Colin Stein, who scored 8 goals in his 24 game loan spell from Rangers in 77/78.

  11. It’s not about wearing a tie to watch a football match - it’s about dressing appropriately for a formal lunch, isn’t it? The main market for corporate hospitality is going to be businesses entertaining clients and/or staff and they probably expect there to be a minimum dress code. Not saying that it has to be suits and ties but smarter than jeans and trainers I would have thought.

  12. You already said that earlier on. Not a thing wrong with that, but why can’t you just wear it with pride instead of feeling the need to constantly tell everyone that you’re wearing it with pride.

  13. When asked who he would want to play with and cross the ball for him to save his like, Derek Johnstone instantly said Tommy McLean. Journo asked him, why not Jinky or Willie Henderson, and DJ told him that Jinky would never pass, Willie Henderson was a great winger, but McLean could hit him with the ball from anywhere, anytime, any weather and was the best crosser of the ball he had ever played with.

  14. St. Mirren brought over a thousand supporters, or £15,000—£20,000 for Killie. According to their fansite some of them missed first 10 minutes through queueing. Yes, they could buy tickets in advance, but was that the case last time they visited ? They also quoted some official saying they didn't expect St. Mirren to bring so many fans. Seem to have heard that excuse on a few occasions when we went to away games. Provincial clubs generally play to crowds around a third of their stadiums capacity, we should make entry as easy as possible regardless of what the entry method is.

  15. Here's an idea, why not pay cash at a turnstile? Absolutely crazy! For the Motherwell game, I have the chance to go and quite fancy it. I live in Glasgow and won't be near rugby park or fir park before Wednesday. The fact its pay at the gate pretty much made my mind up to go. I wouldn't pay seven quid for recorded delivery or made a long journey prior to the game if it had been a case of needing a ticket. Everyone has individual circumstances, I'll arrive no earlier than 7.40 so no time for queues like those above

  16. I don't wear a poppy and never have... I'm also not a Celtic fan. Wear one or don't wear one, it's not exclusive to two teams and it doesn't mean not having one is being used it for political or religious point scoring. Every f**king year 'poppygate' happens and every year it causes a pointless argument. At game Saturday I didn't even notice who had and hadn't one around me.

  20. The negative comments towards him amaze me. He’s a regular part of a a back-4 that doesn’t lose goals. He’s scored and made (brilliantly) goals so far this season but still the moaners greet. When is the last time u saw a winger rip our right-back to shreds. Doesn’t happen. If u need a scapegoat go out and find one because right now they’re ain’t one to be had.

  21. I'm getting fed up. Steve Clarke took over almost two years ago. Since then, we've been organised, compact when defending and using the counter attack well. We've not been free scoring, or free flowing, but we've been effective. The league table doesn't lie. We've now played ten games, and we're third. We had the CQN debacle, a narrow defeat to Rangers and the away defeat to Hamilton. Since then, we've reverted to type. Each week, I read the same comments - 'that was dire', 'we were murder', 'the football is terrible'. We have played the same way in every game since that Hamilton defeat. Only Celtic were able to counter it, and even then, only they and Livingston even managed to score against us (in 90 minutes for you pedants). I wonder if some folk have had a visit from Tommy Lee Jones and WIll Smith and had the Locke/Johnston/Clark/McCulloch tenures erased from memory. Again, for those struggling with comprehension, we're third. It's not a flash in the pan, it's not papering over the cracks, it's what we do now. Clarke has gone, but the guy that coached the Italian national team, Juventus and Chelsea is in charge now and it's fair to say that the man does know what he's doing. We all know that we're missing a number ten, but we can't realistically change that until January. We're so solid across the back four and midfield I wonder if this is the same Killie that I've been watching for nearly 25 years. So to hear the boos when, about five minutes before we scored the winning goal, when a backwards pass was played (when the alternative was GIVING THE BLOODY BALL AWAY) really made my shoulders slump. So you'll need to suck it up, and endure effective, Europa League qualifying fitba for at least another couple of months until we sign the new Eremenko. Until then, accept that it will be 0-0 at half time, they probably won't score, and that we might. We'll pick up plenty of points in the meantime. I've started saving for next July, and I'm going to make sure I'm registered with a supporters bus ahead of time. What about you?

  22. My favourite thing about GERS and the deficit is Labour want to make it worse. They want free tuition, free prescriptions, free personal care, renationalise everything down south. Nobody has told them they’ll need to borrow to do all this or that Scotland will be entitled to our proportionate share of this increased spending thanks to the Barnett formula. We’re going to have so big a budget that we’ll need to spend it on solid gold toilets in every school. Every hospital too if we can buy the gold from Gordon Brown. The SNP will become untouchable thanks to the far higher standards. The deficit will be incredible though.

  26. I have a ST, and if I was super organised and knew exactly what I was doing every Saturday for the next month ahead I could in theory buy tickets for the next away game when I am in K/K. But I am just not that organised. When I can buy a ticket with my phone for away games in seconds, now that would be a real step forward.

  27. Yes, absolutely, and very useful I have found it to be in the past until KFC started charging £7 extra a ticket for "special delivery" as tickets kept "going astray" in the post. And so it would be in an ideal world. Unfortunately I have no control over other's purchasing choices and sadly I had to stand for half an hour in a similar queue at Livingstone last season.

  29. I've seen it twice now. It's a brilliant film. Challenging, anarchic and thought provoking. If I was going to compare it to anything, it would be Fight Club. Impressive stuff from the guy who brought us The Hangover trilogy (which is absolutely dire).

  32. Rangers use it as a display to show how British they are. Watching Sportscene there and it appears they actually had an army tank at Ibrox today, firing fake shots, to remember people who died in service. Very unusual but typical point-scoring behaviour.

  33. I accept it's a difficult watch at times. But being a long standing Killie fan for many years it's been a far more difficult watch when we have been down there at the bottom of the league for many seasons. With far lower crowds, poor community engagement off the pitch , protests against the former chairman, low away travelling support.... Current situation on and off the pitch will do very nicely for me thank you very much.

  35. If you don’t think the poppy is a political symbol I suggest having a go at growing a brain, fella. Are these commissioned by the club? It would seem to me they’re generic pins with fitba team badges added on to them to somewhat cynically aim for some easy target audience, the excellent “desperate to show respect middle-aged male”. Find it pretty crass tbh.

  36. We have this same debate every year, it's beyond boring. I can see both sides of the arguments and can why folk want to/don't want to wear one. Some want to remember silently, some don't want to wear one for whatever reason. I What I can't stand is (this is by and large Old Filth fans btw) are the arseholes who use it as some sort of one-upmanship show. On one hand you have Celtic who don't wear one to appease their fans then on the other you have Rangers turning it into a side show and how British they are (not nearly as bad as armed forces day which is a circus act from start to finish) I wish all club just do what we do at Rugby Park - a minutes silence, a wreathe being laid a solider playing the Last Post. I always find that a lovely tribute and true moment of reflection. Card displays, Cannons being fired, c**ts abseiling off the stands etc up the M77 takes away from what is meant to be a moment of reflection and everything to do with getting it up their manky pals in the East End. It should be the individuals choice, they should wear it as they want to, not because they are told to. if you don't want to wear it, respect those who do. It shouldn't be a hard concept.

  37. Always think it's a shame that many people like me who back the original sentiment and meaning behind the poppy symbol can no longer wear them because of how they've been politicised by certain quarters. Firstly, for me, theres a big Rangers (and Hearts) association there, made more prominent by how much Rangers dine out on the whole poppy season and the fact that Celtic take nothing to do with it. Secondly, theres the debate over whether the traditional red poppy is the right choice for someone who perhaps doesn't agree with many of the wars fought by the british armed forces and the actions of some soldiers. Lastly, I dont like the pressure that people in the public eye ought to wear it - the perfect example being the abuse James McClean gets every year for his perfectly valid reasons for opting out. I say all of this as someone whose great grampa fought in world war two - I was very close with him as he lived til I was 15, and I remember him telling me about his best friend getting killed. In an ideal world, I would wear a poppy, but never do for the reasons above. Anyway, all that aside, the Killie poppy posted above looks smart.

  38. Likewise. He is one of the best crossers of a ball that I have ever seen in Scottish football. I've often argued/discussed that he was a better player for the old Rangers than the likes of Cooper was. He made Derek Johnstone the player he was

  40. St Mirren had a home game last week, they had tickets on sale but only 300 of their 1100 fas bothered their arse to buy them. You can buy a ticket for any home game at RP within seconds on your phone. Doesn't take longer to buy a ticket regardless of how far away you are.

  41. I’ve never associated Mulumbu with lack of work rate! I don’t know if he would get in ahead of Power or Dicker and I’d rather we put a ‘big’ spend on a properly creative player. Love Mulumbu though and would have been delighted if he had come back.

  44. Was a terrible start to the season ... dumped out of Europe by partimers, beaten by Rangers and embarrassed by Hamilton. AA has, I think, adapted his thinking to what players he has rather than stubbornly trying to stick it out and force them to play his preferred style ... THAT is what he gets a huge thumbs up for. We are grinding out wins and although it isn't pretty to watch I'll take that every week over a 3-3 draw or 6-5 defeat. Now if he can sneak in a striker and midfield general .....

  45. The Way Rangers have hijacked rememberance really pisses me off. It’s all about getting one up on the Celtic support. As for the Killie/Poppy badges are these authorised by the British Legion? How much goes to that fund.? Looks a bit fishy to me.

  46. I rate Millar and thought he started the season well but two disgraceful challenges can’t have helped him. Yesterday wasn’t his game against a team sitting so deep and compact.

  48. I wonder why all the cheerleaders who want absolutely no negative observations about the team don't just f**k off until we're s**te again - it's obviously not doing you any good to see folk with a different opinion to yourselves. I didn't think O'Donnell chucked it today, but he certainly didn't have a good game. We huffed and puffed for a home win against a team that'll be fighting relegation - if we're genuinely the 3rd best team in the country we should be doing better than this. That's an ok thing to say y'know.

  49. Wow the negativity on here for a team sitting 3rd in league is mind-blowing

  50. I do, and I'm sorry if that didn't come across. The regrettable fetishizing of the poppy as a symbol that I was referring to is, for me, it completely separable from the act of remembrance and attending a Remembrance Sunday service. I don't suggest that everyone who wears a poppy is necessarily a frothing fascist - but to overlook this aspect of our current society, and it's attachment and in some cases appropriation of the poppy is wilful blindness.
