  1. So you would play each team twice after the split? I think 14 is better than 12 but I still don’t like it. Personally, I would like an 18 team premiership. Play each other twice with no split, 3 teams relegated/promoted.

  2. Honestly. I would just go to two leagues of 20 and be done with it. There's plenty of sides in the championship decent enough to hold their own and it would mean clubs like Killie could develop youngsters stress free. The Scotland team would benefit massively and the standard for the teams coming into the league would quickly rise. 3 up/3 down. If they really want to preserve their old firm games then they can add a top 4 play off to decide the title where celtic get to beat 4th and Rangers get a few extra dodgy penalties to make sure they beat 3rd before playing 2 legs at Hampden in front of riot police while the rest of us book our summer holidays and get the hell out the way. I'd also make teams register squads that include at least 10 Scottish players and at least 4 that have came through the club's youth set up to ensure we give young players game time. We've lost that in the current system to an extent.

  3. Would we be talking about reconstruction if Hamilton and Alloa were at the bottom of their respective leagues ? No, we wouldn’t. Jambos deserve to be relegated, they've had thirty games to get themselves out of the bottom spot and haven't managed it.

  4. 16 team top league for me. Home/ away each team = 30 games Split 8/8 = extra 7 games. Total 37 games That's 1 less league game than the current format. And bin the winter break while we're at it.

  6. Correct. The other poster (who is a Rangers fan) stated that 'Hearts do bring something to the league'. He is correct also, but this season that has been mostly points for other teams.

  7. Like the idea of 16 team league with 8/8 split. I take the point on 1 less old form game but sure that would be made up for by the fact that there would be significantly more derby fixtures in the league (or at least the prospect of). If you took this seasons 12 plus 4 from champ you’d have: Dundee v Dundee Utd Inverness v Ross County Killie v Ayr You may not make up for the viewing figures but would be better for selling the product in the long term I think

  8. Fans have been calling for that for years. He should have been sacked on numerous occasions over the years. He should have been chased from our game along with Regan after the Sevco debacle when they died.

  10. I can remember the 20 team league all the way back to the 60,s. I don’t remember there ever being a time when I or my pals said “ nah I’m not going to see the Morton/Airdrie/Clyde last match of the season . If only to throw objects at and exchange insults with the section B Boys We need a change from this turgid same old same old carousel we are currently on.

  11. 16 team play each other twice a good winter break and all cup games played at weekend. No midweek football would be miles better but again pandering to the old filth would knock this on head. Again we would have the lack of games = less income brigade but 4 games against same teams is torture. Would even prefer 18 teams than what we have

  12. Being reported in a few places that there is now a strong push for league reconstruction with a 14 team premiership in place for next season, with a 6-8 team split after 2 rounds of games. Might be driven by self preservation by some, nevertheless I think it would be good for the game. More teams in the league (more variety of away trips/opponents), equal number of home and aways against each team. Bring it on.

  13. Should we just have a league with the best supported teams in the top flight or do you not believe in competition?

  14. Regardless of the voting slips counted, why did the SPFL release the votes received, and therefore provide the club still to declare with negotiating room? Which in itself is disgusting that Dundee are now trying to profit from a vote that effects all clubs, but also shows the league management function isn’t fit for purpose, before even taking into account the fact they didn’t have Dundee’s vote.

  16. Only the clowns that run the game in our country couldn’t organise a vote with 42 clubs. What an embarrassment

  18. Theres also talk about bringing in Kelty and Brora. There are far too many clubs as it is. 2 top leagues and the rest regionalised.

  19. It seems from comments that people are voting for kits from successful eras or associating them with popular players rather than judging the aesthetic design of the kits. It depends on what you take from “Greatest Killie kit of all time”, I suppose.

  20. Not to mention that "diet Hun" feeling with there little sprinkling of Union flags and some of their supporters love in with Mr Yaxley Lennon.

  21. Yeah I see a lot of folk (younger) are picking a kit for the first time they watched us, or bought/were gifted the kit. That doesn’t make them great kits, just personal memories. I’ve picked so far on an aesthetic and not thought about who filled them at the time. Otherwise we could have had a s**t brown strip with puke stain detail but if Eremenko/TB/Durrant* had worn them it would be popular although we all can see it’s bogging. *delete as appropriate.

  22. Right now I cant see anybody with any other options apart from this. That could change with better testing and a vaccine but neither is currently available. Like the guy who said the UK could end up having some of the worst covid 19 statistics in Europe, just because nobody wants to hear ut doesnt make it any less true. Right now the government seem to be taking a "we're British so naturally we will be less affected by this bug" line. Its horses**t and eventually people will begin to realise that this bug doesnt take any prisoners. The countries doing best right now are China with a serious lockdown and South Korea ang Germany with a serious testing regime. We are just playing at lockdown, we have very little testing capability and PPE us in very short supply. But hey, were Brittsh.

  23. I've pushed 14 teams with a 6/8 split for years but I still doubt it will happen ... or any reconstruction for that matter. Totally against the suggestion that there is no relegation as well ... finish bottom then you deserve to go down or at the very least a playoff. It is only because it is a city team that it is being spoken about ... if it was us, Hamilton, StMirren then we'd be told not to slam the door on the way out.

  26. Well now with all the junior teams this side of the country including Talbot and Buffs making a another new 6th teir league. Id much prefer the league structure to be; Premiership - 16 Teams Championship - 16 Teams League 1 - 12 Teams League 2 - 12 Teams New league - consisting of a merge if highland and lowland league teams. Then the usual regional 6th teir leagues.

  27. If we really want boring and symmetry, then eighteen playing home and away is the way to go. It isn't the numbers that is the basic problem, it's no other club offering a challenge to Celtic and Sevco. There might be slightly more chance of a challenge to C and S if we only play teams home and away once. I follow Killie with my heart but my head says Scottish football is dead for all but two clubs, and the second one is now largely irrelevant.

  28. Haha I have no doubt you are right, Wrangodog. Please forgive my flimsy backtracking under the merest scrutiny! Perhaps I just have to get over my discomfort of uneven number of home and away games against certain teams. I guess a system which provides excitement trumps a boring but perfectly symmetrical league!

  29. Isn’t that one of the main reasons for the bottom half to have two more team and therefore two more home fixtures, to offset the ‘bigger away support’ not coming to town!

  30. I think he was protected by certain people in the past. Lawell and his counterparts at Ibrox in particular. That seems to have changed now. Sevco have definitely turned and I get the impression Celtic are giving him enough rope to hang himself. He doesn’t appear to have the same relationship with the SFA since Maxwell took over.

  31. Two leagues of sixteen, with regional pyramid leagues below that. We need to get away from the repetitive three/four games a season, with the chance of meeting the same teams in both Cup competitions. There is probably no chance of that happening though.

  32. And more importantly, one fewer old firm game. I like that way of bumping up the number of games though.

  34. I'd like top 2 leagues of 16, 10 team Highland and Lowland then regional pyramid below that. Top 2 leagues see teams play each other twice, 30 games. I think it makes the most organisational sense but it's a hell of a drop in fixtures and therefore gate revenue so an absolute nonstarter.

  35. Dundee are at it here. If indeed they sent the email or fax or whatever it was and it wasn't received, send it again and very publicly state your answer of "yes" or "no". They've gone into full lockdown mode and haven't commented other than some comments on a bloody WhatsApp group that no person in their right mind would take as gospel.

  36. All this talk of bullying is very interesting. What constitutes bullying?Does suggesting that you could be worse off if you vote for option A as opposed to B constitute bullying?Or is there more to these accusations? Sevco fans seem to think that Peter Lawell is running the show on his own which I find hard to believe. How will it end? Will we see in fighting that could ruin the game in Scotland and beyond ?Too much self interest and clubs not acting in the best interests of the game of football. #shambles

  44. Hearts maybe but Thistle have played 1 game less than the team above them and only a point separating them...that is absolutely not fair and not on merit . Once again...if this was Killie there would be outrage. And rightly so

  45. f**k hearts and thistle. they shouldn’t have been s**te all season. Relegated on merit!

  46. I dont think its as simple as that. How would we feel if it was Killie in Partick Thistles shoes with a game in hand 1 point off safety...plus powerful teams ganging together and telling the rest how it is has hardly left our game in a great state the now has it ?

  47. Can’t see a problem with that , everyone involved in playing coaching filming etc in these games will be tested anyway
