  3. Why would any football fan not want games to be played ? Even behind closed doors there’s television , I don’t get it even if football can start again in June July August why do some clowns not want games to be played

  5. Hi chums, hope you are all staying safe during these hard times. I'm going to put together a "Covid special" fanzine. It will be online only and will be free for everyone to read. However we will ask that if you can please make a donation to Trust in Killie meaning the club will benefit. We are looking for fan articles to get your thoughts about everything Killie related during these unique times. You can write your views on reconstruction, dodgy SPFL votes, what effect all this will have on Killie and even if Scottish football can survive this worldwide crisis. If you have time on your hands then please write us an article, as short or long as you want and sent it to [email protected] Stay safe folks.....YNTTK

  8. Found this in my cupboard this morning. Not one of the club's highest points but a season full of memories for those of us who were there. Has to be the last day win over Cowdenbeith for me as it was the last match that my dad and I attended together before he passed away the following January.

  10. They really shouldn't have bothered. What with this "tribute" (won it on goal average don't you know, hehehe) and the interview with the DUP MP for East Londonderry about the SPFL investigation, this was not Sportsound's finest episode. Yesterday's picture of Davie Sneddon was a lot more eloquent.

  11. There is no way the season can be finished with fans in attendance, so they need to decide, in consultation with the Government, if closed doors are possible. That should be able to be done fairly quickly. If not, finish the top division, award the title on average points. Reconstruct to do away with relegation this season. It’s not fair to punish any club. I’m not one that wants Hearts or Partick relegated. We’ve got few enough big teams already. After that, we can take the pressure off and look forward to next season (when it finally starts).

  12. Was watching the you tube of Killie's 2-0 gubbing of A*r in 1988 with my son - remembering the level and prevalence of distaste we had for Henry Templeton. I recall singing some lovely hymns to his name at the time. Was thinking over the years of the players that we really loved to dislike....from my era, in addition to HT, targets were: Simon Stainrod; Derek Cook; Billy Abercrombie... Can we formulate an 11 man team of players Killie fans loved to hate??? Templeton MUST be in there.

  15. But if not everyone is wearing them then it's almost pointless. Out of those who do, do you think they will be boil washing their scarves between uses? Or just wearing it on the bus, taking it off at work and then back on again later. Every time I have the misfortune to see the news, I'm initially ecstatic that there is a new series of The Day Today on. Then I realise there isn't.

  16. Bought this last year in the programme shop near easter road. £30. Chap said he reckoned it would go for about £60 in Kilmarnock but quite a few still available in and around Edinburgh so price lower. Hearts had printed extra copies expecting it to be a souvenir. They were right, just not for them!

  17. I think you have contradicted yourself there. Given the uncertainty, it is absolutely not the time to be ambitious. Some of the players you list are under contract for next season. Given that we have no idea when football will recommence and whether there will be paying spectators allowed - and, if so, how many - extending these contracts would make no sense to me. Before you say that the likes of Findlay and Brophy have good transfer values, we have no idea what the state of the transfer market will be going forward. English clubs might have to refund television fees already received and - most likely - spent, leaving a vast hole in their balance sheets. We do not have the funds to be be ambitious. All the quotes coming from the club are of ensuring the long-term sustainability of the club. I don't think they are going to jeopardise this by giving contract extensions to 30+ year-old players until the situation has become much clearer. The owners of Hamilton Academical can run their club as they see fit.

  19. This season was the point where the rot was stopped and the comeback began. It was absolutely the start if the wonderful journey many of us have been on for the past 30 years.

  21. I think the simple lack of leadership from the top is the issue. You tell people to "stay at home ..... unless you have to go out ....., Don't go to work .... unless you have to go to work" .. etc., etc., etc. People ask "for how long?" They reply "we don't know". People ask "how will we row back from where we are" They reply "we don't know". While I'm not trying to excuse people for being downright irresponsible, the above are the reasons for the behaviours you describe. We need to see at least some hint that those in charge have some sort of plan. Otherwise there will be chaos.

  22. I’ve seen us get a few hammerings at RP from the old firm and Aberdeen and Dundee Utd especially in the early 80s but I don’t think ive ever seen us get outplayed like we did that night. We barely got a kick at the ball. The Czechs were superb

  27. This is the crux of it for me. If football players (and sports more generally) get testing before our front line staff, our moral compass as a country is shot to pieces.

  29. Must not include queues outside DIY chains ,burger chains and retail workers who seem to think it's OK to stand next to you waiting to stack shells or the workforce at a local factory standing outside smoking and chatting less than a foot from one another .Get the football on behind closed doors under certain controls .A lot safer environment than a supermarket or a factory.

  35. Aye for every SOD there are lots of guys like Ross Barbour,Sean Clohessy,et al. Unless we are very very lucky with a new signing we WILL miss SOD when he does leave us. He is a fine footballer and a modern day athlete which is a huge advantage in football these days.I would love him to stay even for 1 more season.

  36. Would likely have agreed with you while Alessio was still here and he looked disinterested. Since Dyer took charge SoD has been back, more or less, to the player he was when Clarke was in charge. A player well worthy of keeping when he's playing like that.

  37. It’s horrible to have to bring this dreadful news to the Killie family. I’ve just heard from my GP pal who lives in Cambusbarron that Betty Beattie passed away recently. Many of you will have known her and will have been always impressed by her warmth and humanity. She was weel kent and loved in the area not least because of the shop she ran with Frank. Even more sad is the fact that the funeral which would have attracted 100s must be limited to 10. We will remember her though and be public in our respects when we are able to.
