  1. The involvement of our support in strengthening the links between club and community is at the heart of everything we do. As part of our regular reviews of practices and procedures to reflect our growing relationship with the Club, we have made a change to the Killie Trust logo to reflect this. We are updating our online presence as well in the next few weeks...starting with a new-look website.

  3. I have no political axe to grind on this point. The ratings for the Scottish government are a joke (and I don't care a flying fox that it's an SNP executive). The number of deaths in Scottish care homes is criminal. The prior experience of China, Spain and Italy highlighted the dangers. The continued use of staff in more than one home, untested discharge from hospitals and the absence of testing of staff and residents have received next to bugger all critical attention in the Scottish press. The scientific community highlighted the likely outcome and these warnings were ignored. Are we really so crass as to glory in Johnson's incompetence whilst our own old folks die, unremarked, in even greater (relative) numbers than in England? Shame on our frigging smugness.

  4. I think I bought it! My eyes are terrible and even when I looked closely I thought it might be some kind of custom Killie crest so figured I might as well for £7.50. Waiting on it being delivered along with several other (hopefully Killie) items. Feeling a bit daft.

  6. I detect you have taken offense, understandably so if my language seemed to be directed at you personally. I was heartened to see Bojo's popularity in decline but was surprised at the high level of confidence of Scots in our government. My comments related to us, Scots folks generally, and the Scottish press for glorying in the Tory government's shortcomings whilst remaining relatively uncritical of Holyrood's failures. This is what I meant by smug, the willingness to leave the plank in our own eye. I simply found the contrast between English and Scottish confidence levels mystifying. I'm not trying to weasel out, my response was to the opinion poll, not to you. I used "we" and "our" not "you" and "your" throughout. We as Scots should be scrutinizing ourselves, our govt, our services more harshly than any underperformance we detect elsewhere. I just don't think Westminster's failure is sufficient basis for believing the Scottish executive has been successful. And I think this will be a repeated theme in both the ongoing management of Covid and any attempt to find a route to a viable independence.

  13. Yup it's a difficult trade-off and in this instance I've got sympathy for those involved in making it. Deciding between one air sea rescue to some daftie in a yacht struggling in the Minch and 50 hip replacements or 20 open heart surgeries isn't a particularly visible political choice. But the ongoing death toll from Covid will be understood as an explicit trade against increased economic activity and likely become a very emotive topic. Made worst because the reduction in mortality amongst eg middle aged men of reducing long term unemployment is more difficult to quantify than the cost of a hip replacement. And in contrast the headline mortality from Covid will be known and newsworthy. I wonder if any of our politicians will face the problem head on and risk the chorus of complaint? Nothing abnormal observed sounds good. Disappointing how many folks have had the same experience....with all the related anxiety.

  15. Water off a ducks back man - you don’t need to bother about offending me! What we should be aware of, is the balancing act between economy and health, in biggest recession in history of the UK. A balancing act between death and total economic collapse - which leads in itself, to more deaths. A ‘damned if you do, damned if you don’t’ tightrope, the Scots gov. simply does not have to walk. It’s beyond the brief of a devolved administration in the UK. It’s easier for Sturgeon, (as I’ve posted before I may add) to take a cautionary ‘health’ first approach to the covid situation. 85% of the economic levers in Scotland are still pulled by WM, the economy still very much WMs brief and as we all know, health is a devolved matter. I’d also posted another poll before that one (I believe it’s on the BoJo thread) which showed the almost overnight collapse of BoJo popularity and that of all Tory cabinet members - except the chancellor. So we can probably park the ‘racist’ Brexit Britain chat - given that on a UK level, by far the most popular member of the gov isn’t white. Independence simply isn’t gonna happen with covid about and bans on mass gatherings - although scrutiny of Tories and indeed the current SNP (check my opinions on the Salmond thread) shall continue. On a personal level, I’ve been badly let down by the Scottish NHS IMO. Went for a CT scan in Febuary, was told hospital would contact me with results, didn’t receive any communication whatsoever. Called my GP to get even a telephone consultation and was told that wouldn’t be happening either. So while it’s important to focus on covid19, I can guarantee you more people will die of other health conditions, where treatment was stopped, than of covid19 itself. I probably won’t be one of them as a medically unqualified receptionist was able to tell me, ‘nothing abnormal was observed’ - whatever that means.

  19. Actually Inprovided you with some facts, if they show London up to be a ckusterf**k of arrogant wanks who believe they are always right then I guess that's also the truth. As for the lack of criticism point you make, you're having a f**king laugh right? The broadcast media, the written media are all owned by and work from a unionist perspective. It's all constant do as you're told, london knows best, SNP baaad. The FM has appeared at every single communication, takes questions from all angles which all say SNP baaad and gives clear answers. The BBC reporter yesterday was the first question up and its was a direct go at the stay at home message, designed to cause trouble and just generally be the total wankstain he is whe on good morning Scotland. Theres been 1 or 2 days and the odd isolated event of criticism if the UK dueing live debate or 'news'broadcast reporting. The FM takes that every single day and gives clear answers to it all. You need to take yer head out of your arse if you think its otherwise.

  20. I wont sign up IF the Scottish one is linked to or has anything to do with the knee developed by the UK. The retention of data by the UK govt and their use of data is abhorrent as weve seen with various scandals over the past decade. Plus Cummings is directly involved with this and no doubt will use it in his AI projects. He is a sneaky dangerous bastard and I want nothing to do with this at all.

  21. The ONLY political leader on this island who has publically and constantly said they would make mistakes is the FM. WM arrogance that they are totally right and if they're proven wrong they lie, publish bulls**t propaganda, misdirect and generally obsfucate to the point of disinterest amongst the public will not get around the facts. Were mistakes made, yes but these only became visible with hindsight. NS has also stated her thoughts and feeling of responsibility on the mistakes. If anyone is likely to learn from them and make different choices is the FM and Scottish GOVERNMENT( not the executive which didn't seem a freudian slip at all but an overtly political comment from you, apologies if you didnt mean it that way). The UK govt will not learn as they simply beleive they are right about everything and then twist the facts and produce fake news to show them to be rights then forget about the creation of that fake news. Scotland has outperformed WM, AGAIN, but thays down the priorities of the governments. One supports and works for the people the other supports and works for itself and the 1% who are driven purely by greed and money. Cpuld and should they have done better.... yes, but again hindsight reveals this, the decisions on lockdown were made in good faith at the time as a 4 nation approach unfortunately WM having all the main levers of power didnt follow the science, but followed Cummings wishes. We live on an island beyond repatriation and goods NO flights should have been coming in and certainly not the hundreds a day from seriously infected regions which was the case. Imo if Scotland had the control of their skies this wouldn't have happened in anything like the scale allowed by WM.

  24. As early as March 29th some care home managers were advising that it wasn’t safe to take patients discharged from hospital as they recognised they weren’t equipped to deal with this properly , probably due to PPE and staffing shortages . Yet there pleas were ignored . It was a catch 22 situation for the authorities and the choice that was made was done with the best of intentions but they should recognise their failings . Hiding behind SAGE guidelines is a cop out and has been questioned on here on many occasions Again it should be recognised that in 60% of care homes there has been been no deaths , whether this is due to good nursing care , good luck ,by a refusal to accept discharged patients or a combination I’ve no idea . I agree that some care homes should be held to account if it is proven they were negligent but quite a few did the very best they could with very frail elderly and vulnerable people but I’d imagine that even if they were in hospital the outcome would have been the same . Also I assume you meant to write care home staffing and PPE IS the responsibility of the care home ?
    1 point
  25. Away and throw s**te at the moon. The decision to move ASYMPTOMATIC elderly patients back to their care homes was done with the best of intentions. We were preparing for the whole system to be overwhelmed. The SAGE advice at the time was there was no need to test and the country didn’t have the capacity anyway. It is far easier to barrier nurse patients in single rooms, such as in care homes. Rather than in a four or six bed bay scenario where they’d have to share sinks, toilets, showers etc. Care home staffing and PPE isn’t the responsibility of the care home provider. And I think the only thing you actually got right was this behaviour was criminal and I’d like to see the care home providers prosecuted. Finally anyone who gets worked up about an opinion poll is a moron.

  26. I could see a draft scheme working but the whole set-up for young players would need to change. I wouldn't have anyone in an academy until 16 when they can be drafted - up until then players play for local boys clubs/schools and the draft would be based on performances for them.

  33. Whatever happens now, the mask is off! They're there for the most selfish and self-interested of reasons. Deny the truth and you can get a gig in the Cabinet, tell the truth you're out on your ear. The scene was set months ago when Tory so-called 'grandees' lost the whip. 2 months it took for Philip Hammond to go from Chancellor of the Exchequer to being deselected by his own constituency party. And now we're left with the spineless Gavin Williamson, Priti Patel, Dominic Raab, Mart Hancock, people who will sacrifice integrity for career advancement. They know they lie. We know they lie. They know we know they lie. The only mystery left is how long people will put up with them and their lies!?

  39. Using the pandemic as an excuse is pathetic, JF arrived 6 months before it. One of his early duties was to start sorting out contracts. As an ex player, asst and manager he knows that a player can only attract top money if he has over a year left on his contract. By not even sitting down prior to now we go into the last possible chance to get decent money for him with no idea if we could keep him or we have to sell. I understand you may not have had the chance to iron out the finer details but to not even have had a sit down is criminal.

  41. With 10 weeks of no football I would hope that this is precisely what has been developed by our HoF and Manager. Just because you can't see it doesn't mean it's not happening. January window looked to have come too early in Fowler's regime along with the change of manager. He and Dyer have had 6mths now to discuss and develop a strategy for the forthcoming window albeit it may require to be adapted depending on hoe the budget is affected by Covid related events. it's going to be an interesting next few months for signings and as a fan I hope we see more positive activity than in the last two.

  43. Indeed... how embarrassing is it "the greatest generation" are treated like a complete liability when they're alive, left to fend for themselves, shivering alone in their homes and shoved away into care homes when their burden becomes too heavy ...and then toasted with tea and cake when they're dead? Respect the dead by treating the living with care and respect.

  44. I don’t like flag wavers in general. I was never defending flag waving jingoism, simply innocent people raising a glass or having a little tea and cake with their kids. It’s always black and white with people on here. I am well aware of the crimes committed by the British Empire, but that doesn’t mean you can’t salute men and women who were forced into defeating evil. I cringe when I see any flag on a pole outside of someone’s house. Poor neighbours. They should be ordered to be removed by the local authority pronto. I am not a Scottish Nationalist or a British Nationalist, I am the same as I have I have always been, mainstream centre left who believes we are stronger together in the UK and in Europe. As I’m from a mining community and family going back generations, I’m hardly likely to be a fan of Churchill. I strongly recommend the biography of Atlee, who was a patriot in the best sense of the word and played a key part in the war effort and then bravely rebuilding the country in the least promising of circumstances.

  45. No chance of any reconstruction .Why would teams vote to dilute the money even more ? Any TV deal would demand 4 infirm games ,without that any deal would be a pittance .This country is actually to small to support all the senior teams .Should be 2 leagues of 10 and the rest in some sort of pyrimid system .That would be more in line with a country of 5 .5 million .Better share of the TV/sponsorship money between the leagues would also help .Remember Aberdeen and Dundee Utd both won the league when it was 10 teams and reached European finals

  48. If we are going to sign players early we'd be better signing guys who can play in a few different positions. Our squad (which was threadbare to begin with) is going to be smaller again next season, so having a few guys that can fill in in 3 or 4 positions have to be a priority. That's why I was surprised that Shug Wilson was allowed to leave, but maybe it was his decision to go rather than the club. There will be guys being released from down south and possibly Europe who would have never normally considered coming up here but will be desperate for a contract so we should be looking as far and wide as possible. And as mentioned above, if the Championship isn't starting until later up here we should be looking for 6 month loans for the best players from there. Dare I even suggest a 6 month loan offer for Dobbie if Queens aren't going to start until January?
