  1. An older version of a guy who wasn’t good enough the first time round? No thanks.

  2. 10 team leagues are dull as dishwater. Our current setup is dull and dropping 2 teams will not improve that one bit

  4. Came across this rare Under 21 footage from 1989. Paul Wright is playing for Scotland and Drago Lekovic is playing for Yugoslavia! What a team the Yugos had, including Jarni, Boban, Mihajlovic, Prosinecki, Mijatovic, Suker and Boksic. No wonder we got pumped!

  5. A total no brainer taking him. Fantastic winger that would help waters if that's who becomes 1st choice left back. Then if waters doesnt work out Hayes can play left back too

  7. What is the solution to ensure we aren’t well behind others? Sign a whole load of players by the 11th despite having no income, little prospect of income and a pencilled only league start date, Covid containment dependant? I’d rather be in our position with hundreds of out of contract players looking for a gig than having a first team squad already signed up.

  8. I don’t see how you can say we’ll behind anyone given that all the clubs and all the players In Scotland have been in the same situation. We could sign 4 or 5 players from English clubs who would arguably be ahead of all players in Scotland.

  9. I don't think Hayes would be out of our range at all. Coming 33 and not having played regularly for years he can hardly demand huge wages. I'd take him.

  10. Not sure if this has been mentioned before about this reorganisation. The season after next when it reverts to 12-10-10-10 (taken from pie and bovril) “For her plan to go through, in the 21/22 season you would be doing the following: Relegate 3 Premier league sides to get back to 12. 3 down 1 up. Have teams fighting it out for 1 promotion spot in a 14 team championship. Relegate 7 teams from the same 14 team championship. Have teams vying for 1 promotion spot from the 14 team league 1. Relegate 10 teams from the 14 team league 1. So in a best case scenario (not even including possible playoffs which could lead to more promotion and relegation) that would mean in 2021/22, you'll have a situation where 2 teams across Scottish football (not including HL/LL) will be promoted and at least 20 out of 42 teams across the board are going to be relegated. All to save hearts ...

  12. The involvement of our support in strengthening the links between club and community is at the heart of everything we do. As part of our regular reviews of practices and procedures to reflect our growing relationship with the Club, we have made a change to the Killie Trust logo to reflect this. We are updating our online presence as well in the next few weeks...starting with a new-look website.

  14. Aberdeen were the first ones to top up their squads then go running to the press moaning about £1m per month loss that the SPFL/SFA should bail them out, it’s all about having the brashest conmen in charge at your club, we are low down the league in that too, for that I am pleased.

  16. Patrick Valance and Chris Whitty are both former GSK R & D presidents. Which perhaps explains why Boris shut down any questions to them about Cummings visiting Bernard Castle in that media conference. Is utterly ridiculous we’re being advised by ‘experts’ with as much commercial, ‘skin in the game’. I wonder how many extra zeros any vaccine will put on that pairs bank balance? Dr Patrick Vallance, president of research and development at pharmaceutical company GlaxoSmithKline, will take up the role of chief scientific adviser from spring 2018. He will take over from interim chief prof Chris Whitty, who has been in post since September following the departure of Sir Mark Walport to lead new public body UK Research and Innovation. Vallance, who has previously advised government as a member of the UK Ministerial Industry Strategy Group, will provide scientific counsel to the prime minister and her cabinet. https://www.civilserviceworld.com/articles/news/civil-service-appoints-gsk-research-head-chief-scientific-adviser

  18. If literally everyone wants him and are offering him what he wants in terms of games. He's at a similar stage of his career as Chris Burke was when he arrived. He's made his money at Celtic. Hayes will be looking for one last shot at being a starter at a decent level. He's 33 at the start of the season, if he can get a 2 year deal at a club of our level I'm sure it would be of interest to him.

  19. Hayes would be a great signing but expect him to be out our price range, I liked Murray when he was at Dundee United had an eye for a goal and worked hard up top but very similar to Brophy in my eyes I would offer him a year with us if am honest

  20. Think that's right. That said, I think it would be good to have a squad where a signed up player like him was an option rather than a rotating cast of loans and Bunn types. I think other clubs in the league have done that better than us in the last few years.

  24. Care home residents have been treated shabbily. Nothing new there tbh. However by allowing the private care sector to squirm out of their responsibilities to their staff and clients, you’re doing nothing to prevent this happening in the future.

  25. (Assuming you're talking about American Football) Top tier NCAA teams get 42,000 on average. 5 of the top teams average over 100,000 per game. 3rd tier teams average about 2,000. This is the biggest SECONDARY SCHOOL stadium in the country. America is weird.

  26. There should be plenty of questions. “Why were you taking more residents when you couldn’t look after the ones you already had?”, “why didn’t you provide adequate PPE for your staff?”, “why did you allow staff to work across multiple sites?”, “why didn’t you isolate patient who had come from hospitals?” Would be the most obvious ones to ask, but they should be directed at the private care sector rather than the Scottish government.

  27. The ONLY political leader on this island who has publically and constantly said they would make mistakes is the FM. WM arrogance that they are totally right and if they're proven wrong they lie, publish bulls**t propaganda, misdirect and generally obsfucate to the point of disinterest amongst the public will not get around the facts. Were mistakes made, yes but these only became visible with hindsight. NS has also stated her thoughts and feeling of responsibility on the mistakes. If anyone is likely to learn from them and make different choices is the FM and Scottish GOVERNMENT( not the executive which didn't seem a freudian slip at all but an overtly political comment from you, apologies if you didnt mean it that way). The UK govt will not learn as they simply beleive they are right about everything and then twist the facts and produce fake news to show them to be rights then forget about the creation of that fake news. Scotland has outperformed WM, AGAIN, but thays down the priorities of the governments. One supports and works for the people the other supports and works for itself and the 1% who are driven purely by greed and money. Cpuld and should they have done better.... yes, but again hindsight reveals this, the decisions on lockdown were made in good faith at the time as a 4 nation approach unfortunately WM having all the main levers of power didnt follow the science, but followed Cummings wishes. We live on an island beyond repatriation and goods NO flights should have been coming in and certainly not the hundreds a day from seriously infected regions which was the case. Imo if Scotland had the control of their skies this wouldn't have happened in anything like the scale allowed by WM.

  28. Away and throw s**te at the moon. The decision to move ASYMPTOMATIC elderly patients back to their care homes was done with the best of intentions. We were preparing for the whole system to be overwhelmed. The SAGE advice at the time was there was no need to test and the country didn’t have the capacity anyway. It is far easier to barrier nurse patients in single rooms, such as in care homes. Rather than in a four or six bed bay scenario where they’d have to share sinks, toilets, showers etc. Care home staffing and PPE isn’t the responsibility of the care home provider. And I think the only thing you actually got right was this behaviour was criminal and I’d like to see the care home providers prosecuted. Finally anyone who gets worked up about an opinion poll is a moron.

  29. There been a very encouraging number of 'listens' so far to our very first attempt. There are a few more 'in the can' recounting memorable Killie moments and untold tales which will be released in the next few weeks. It'd be great to hear who you'd like to hear from and what might be your 'big match'. Working in partnership with our Former Players Association, we'll do our best to get to the very heart of the stories that helped build our Club.

  32. Returning to training on 11th of June with an August start pencilled in .We will be weeks if not months behind teams like Aberdeen,Hibs etc who have a full squad signed up .Are we just going to hope that any signings will be match fit and will be able to fit straight into the team .I doubt at the moment we could field a full team plus subs and that's before any injury so or suspensions kick in

  37. I have no political axe to grind on this point. The ratings for the Scottish government are a joke (and I don't care a flying fox that it's an SNP executive). The number of deaths in Scottish care homes is criminal. The prior experience of China, Spain and Italy highlighted the dangers. The continued use of staff in more than one home, untested discharge from hospitals and the absence of testing of staff and residents have received next to bugger all critical attention in the Scottish press. The scientific community highlighted the likely outcome and these warnings were ignored. Are we really so crass as to glory in Johnson's incompetence whilst our own old folks die, unremarked, in even greater (relative) numbers than in England? Shame on our frigging smugness.

  40. It has been an impossible situation. One, albeit anecdotal point.....In my own experience Scottish hospitals will go to any lengths to avoid entering C.Difficile on a death certificate, despite repeated admission and no known acute cause. Care outcomes are being described and determined by the performance standards of management consultants, not clinical diagnosis. This holographic use of language has become increasingly prevalent throughout the NHS made worse by chronic underfunding. For Covid to be managed effectively across the system, trust in the quality of information must be shared across the health care sectors. I think that trust is lacking.

  41. I detect you have taken offense, understandably so if my language seemed to be directed at you personally. I was heartened to see Bojo's popularity in decline but was surprised at the high level of confidence of Scots in our government. My comments related to us, Scots folks generally, and the Scottish press for glorying in the Tory government's shortcomings whilst remaining relatively uncritical of Holyrood's failures. This is what I meant by smug, the willingness to leave the plank in our own eye. I simply found the contrast between English and Scottish confidence levels mystifying. I'm not trying to weasel out, my response was to the opinion poll, not to you. I used "we" and "our" not "you" and "your" throughout. We as Scots should be scrutinizing ourselves, our govt, our services more harshly than any underperformance we detect elsewhere. I just don't think Westminster's failure is sufficient basis for believing the Scottish executive has been successful. And I think this will be a repeated theme in both the ongoing management of Covid and any attempt to find a route to a viable independence.

  42. Yup it's a difficult trade-off and in this instance I've got sympathy for those involved in making it. Deciding between one air sea rescue to some daftie in a yacht struggling in the Minch and 50 hip replacements or 20 open heart surgeries isn't a particularly visible political choice. But the ongoing death toll from Covid will be understood as an explicit trade against increased economic activity and likely become a very emotive topic. Made worst because the reduction in mortality amongst eg middle aged men of reducing long term unemployment is more difficult to quantify than the cost of a hip replacement. And in contrast the headline mortality from Covid will be known and newsworthy. I wonder if any of our politicians will face the problem head on and risk the chorus of complaint? Nothing abnormal observed sounds good. Disappointing how many folks have had the same experience....with all the related anxiety.
