  1. I don't believe a word of that how can The Rangers be anywhere near the top with the £60m plus debts since they were formed in 2012.

  2. I hope Killie vote against this. The big relegation can is only getting kicked down the road. This is not the time for reconstruction and certainly not just to please Anne Budge.

  3. Evening Times just reported that the Accies right back is set to join Kilmarnock KILMARNOCK are set to sign Aaaron McGowan, who revealed today that he would not be renewing his contract at Hamilton Academical, as a replacement for right back Stephen O'Donnell. McGowan moved to Hamilton from English League Two club Morecambe two years ago and has established himself as a firm fans' favourite at the Fountain of Youth Stadium since. But the 23-year-old, who was named Player of the Year and Fans' Player of the Year at the end of the 2018/19 season, took to Twitter earlier to announce is set to move on. The defender is poised to join Kilmarnock. Scotland player O'Donnell announced back in May that he would be leaving the Ayrshire club. Elsewhere, Alex Gogic, the Hamilton midfielder, has attracted the interest of Hibernian. https://www.glasgowtimes.co.uk/sport/18491533.right-back-aaron-mcgowan-set-join-kilmarnock-quitting-hamilton/

  6. Depending on how the virtual season ticket works and is priced, it may give folks like me and other in other parts of the island a chance to see Killie when otherwise we cant.

  7. Every game is poorer without fans. Without fans in stadiums the demand from people to watch from home would reduce dramatically and the the TV companies would walk away. It’s a shame that fans don’t realise the power they have, forget their tribal differences and mobilise themselves collectively. If they did it would be them who would be dictating to the TV companies and not the other way round.

  12. I’d be happy to support the club in any way I can but watching football on tv behind closed doors holds absolutely no appeal to me whatsoever, it’s painful to watch.

  16. I may be reading the figures wrong, hopefully the club manage to make a few quid from selling the virtual tickets. I'll certainly be taking any opportunity to see us back playing. Reading that you wonder what the rush was to finish the league at such a cost. Sky now have access to every single game and it looks like we've sold it at a £1.5M loss. We're the only nation in the world who can sell more football for less.

  18. Overall I would say the long term impact of this for the clubs and the fans will be negative as it will increase the influence of Sky even further.

  19. This with bells on. And the UK wide strategy failures have come from a number of sources 1) This is totally new, so there is no "science". It does my heid in hearing the word "science" abused every day on TV by politicians of every party. Science is based on observation and measurement. Yet we seem to have "science" in the UK that has no real observation of what is happening elsewhere and no measurement testing worth speaking of. Watch my lips, there is no science. 2) We are being lead by a government composed of people appointed because of their sheepish loyalty to Mr Johnston and his advisor Mr Cummings and his New World Order vision of Brexit. In other words nobody capable of independent rational thought who might challenge the party line. In other words a bunch of Hooray Henry Eton "educated" spineless incompetents. And that in a nutshell is why we have the highest infection rate in Europe and we are in the top 3 or 4 in the world. And yes the SNP have largely followed the Westminster government And yes that is largely because they have no option.

  20. It’s out there every single day. Read any Scottish Labour/Tory/Liberal’s twitter feed or any Scottish journalist’s feed and you’ll see it in all its glory. Anti Scottish, scum media, Etc etc. Without doubt, the Brexiteers and the Cybernats are the worst offenders. Consumed with hatred and grievance.

  25. But Sturgeon convened her own Scientific Advisory panel on Covid on the 25th of March to advise on how best to tackle this crisis . Has she been listening to them or the UK govts SAGE advice ?

  26. No, it won’t lead to attendance at matches being a thing of the past. Nor have I ever heard anybody say that spectators at matches are a hindrance. On the contrary, it is regularly said that the spectators in the ground add greatly to the spectacle. What has been said is that some English Premiership clubs could operate profitably without any gate receipts.

  27. No mention of away fans being able to purchase one off virtual tickets for matches. This needs to be addressed as it is a huge revenue opportunity. Hopefully more detail to follow soon,.

  29. I would assume that the virtual ticket is only likely to last until no restrictions are placed on people attending games in person.

  32. This could be the way forward. Lets face it last two transfer windows were terrible. I suggest we find the players and vote and then the club go and try and get them. It should keep Craigieboy busy anyway.

  43. The poll held on here showed that 98% of those voting didn’t want a refund. This shows a good deal of goodwill towards the club and, if this was representative of the wider season ticket holder community, the amount needing to be repaid would be much smaller. I still think the club should make refunds available to those who request them, subject to their having a legal liability to do so. As the BBC article states, there could well be a force majeure defence to claims for a refund. I’m sure a mutually acceptable arrangement could be reached between the club and the few who were intent on receiving a refund.

  44. If the football club were to issue refunds for the season that was cancelled due to the veritable 'act of god' then it could cost in the region of £140k - £170k depending on various peripheral factors. That's a serious amount of money for a club on our budget and would have a real detrimental effect on how we progress from here. I'm not passing judgement on anyone who wants a refund but for me the money was already spent and accounted for, we didn't get to see all the games but the government put us into lockdown and we didn't get to go anywhere for that matter...I've probably saved money on the days out to be fair! I also think the club are right not to be selling season tickets at the moment, if there are people looking for cash back right now, it could end up even more of a car crash situation later. I'm reasonably confident that when football eventually restarts that our club, with the stadium as big as it is, could find a way for a set number of season ticket holders (and I'm talking the majority at last season's numbers) to attend home matches by introducing social distancing measures that were acceptable to the authorities. It would not be easy, but under the circumstances I don't see why any Killie fan wouldn't comply with what was needed to get them in (again, if allowed) and anyone breaking rules would soon be identified. I won't go into the nuts and bolts of it for now but its definitely do-able in my opinion and probably a lot safer than going to your local supermarket...might mean an early start on a Saturday right enough for many! baz

  45. Hamilton are going forward on a PATG basis, as I've reported before. I don't really care what other clubs are doing but there are other, more honest ways, for clubs to take in money than selling season tickets. We should all wait and see what the club proposes to do. I imagine they will want to take in money very soon so we'll see what they propose. Nobody knows if and when matches will be played in front of spectators next season, so forward planning is almost impossible.
